Pairs are one of the most common hands you play in Poker, and they’re easy to get. You just need two of the same card number. However, they tend to give you fewer points since they’re common. But here’s how to use two Jokers to make a pair worth 10,000 Chips in Balatro.
How Using Two Jokers Can Make a Pair Worth Thousands of Coins in Balatro
Usually, a pair in Balatro is worth 20 Chips with a x2 Multiplier by default. Then, the value of the cards is added to your Chip count. While you can increase this using Planet cards, certain Joker combinations boost the Chips and Multipliers enough to let you defeat rounds using a single pair. Specifically, the Banner Joker and Half Joker can make a pair worth around 10,000 Chips on average. And in some cases, that number goes even higher.
How the Banner Joker Card Works
The Banner Joker gives you +40 Chips per each remaining Discard. So, if you have even three Discards and don’t use them, you get an extra 120 Chips added to your score for each hand. Since this applies to any hand you play, it’s a generally great card to have if you can avoid using Discards as much as possible.
How the Half Joker Card Works
The Half Joker gives you a +20 Multiplier if you play three or fewer cards in a hand. Combined, these Jokers make a Pair, which is normally 10 Chips with a x2 Multiplier by default, into at least 130 Chips with a x22 Multiplier when you have at least three Discards.
From here, it’s easy to see how you start raking in points with just a pair, especially when you start using Planet cards to level up the pair. With this combination and strategy, I could consistently score over 10,000 Chips with just a pair, which let me breeze through rounds and gather upgrades to keep improving pairs.
And that’s how to use two Jokers to make a pair worth 10,000 Chips in Balatro. If you can get the Jolly Joker added in as well, that’s an extra x8 Multiplier when you play a pair. Overall, collecting boosts to common hands is worthwhile since you’ll be playing them most often. From here, check out our guides hub as we continue adding content to it!
