Lies of P: How Long to Beat the Game?

Find out how many hours it will take you to complete Lies of P.

How long does it take to beat Lies of P? This Souls-like from developer Neowiz takes the tale of Pinocchio and spins it into a grim retelling set in a ravaged city with steampunk flair. With numerous enemies, secrets, and objectives, you might want to know how much time you’re likely to spend as you progress through the campaign.

How Long Does it Take to Beat Lies of P?

It can take roughly 35 to 40 hours to beat Lies of P. This is just a rough estimate based on my playthrough. Coincidentally, it’s par for the course when it comes to the Dark Souls games, Sekiro, and Bloodborne. Its campaign is also significantly longer compared to other Souls-like titles, such as Mortal Shell and Hellpoint.

Of course, this only takes the campaign, as well as some additional grinding and side content, into consideration. In my case, although I managed to beat Lies of P, I was unable to discover a few secrets and collectibles. Moreover, once you do finish the story, you can always try a New Game Plus (NG+) run to extend your enjoyment (or frustration).

What Affects Game Completion Time?

Below, I’ve listed factors that can affect how long it takes to beat Lies of P, especially if you want to get the most out of your experience:

  • Difficulty – Let’s face it: Soulslike games are brutal, but Lies of P takes it up a notch due to a clear focus on perfectly-timed blocks, while playing as a slower character against opponents with fast, multi-hit attacks. There are also traversal sections, which can be annoying due to clunky platforming.
  • Bosses – Speaking of difficulty, you can expect bosses to test your mettle. Examples include the Black Rabbit Brotherhood, King of Puppets, Green Monster, and Laxasia the Complete.
  • Side quests and objectives – There are additional tasks that you can do as you’re progressing through the campaign. For instance, you can try to save Antonia, the proprietor of Hotel Krat.
  • Secrets and collectibles – The city of Krat is filled with secrets and collectibles, such as Trinity Keys, Cryptic Vessels, records, and outfits.
  • Multiple endings – As far as I can tell, there are three achievements are related to endings. I was able to obtain two of these during my playthrough, but that’s because I kept a backup save. Those who are unable to use a backup save (i.e. the hassle of using consoles), might have to do a New Game Plus run just to see another outcome. And, of course, there’s also the third ending, which I’ve yet to discover.
