How to Get Elven Wood in LotR Return to Moria

Elven Wood is used in crafting to create stronger, more intricate items. Generally, tier two items will require it as a component. You’ll find it necessary to make Elven Arrows, a Steel Pickaxe, and even a Brew Kettle. It’s needed to build the bellows, allowing you to smelt rarer ores at a small forge. It’s part of the masterwork Shieldwall. With so many uses, you can end up going through a lot of the material.

Where to Gather Elven Wood

Getting Elven Wood is an easy processes. It’s found on the ground throughout the Elven Quarter alongside regular Wood Scraps. Over 100 pieces can be gathered around the Elven Quarter, enough to build a resource pallet and almost fully stack it. Even after building the Bellows, a pallet, multiple sets of Elven Arrows, Hunting Bow, and steel tools, I still have 80 pieces remaining.

Chop Trees in the Area if You’re Out of Elven Wood to Gather

The wood that’s obtained from the ground isn’t renewable, however. When you start to run out you’ll want to find another source of the material. Thankfully, chopping down trees in the area gives you more. I didn’t want to cut these down since they give such character to the space, so I went searching for others. You can find more of these trees in the Western Halls area right before you reach the Elven Quarter.
