One of the earliest resources you’ll come across and use, these also help create another important item later. Here’s how to get Hide Scraps in Lord of the Rings Return to Moria.

Where Do You Get Hide Scraps in LotR Return to Moria?

Hide Scraps aren’t the same as Hides. You’ll be able to use the scraps to craft Hides once you unlock the Loom later in the game.

Gathering Hide Scraps

Among the earliest items you can make is the Improvised Axe. Once you have this, you’ll be able to fight the wolves and large rat creatures in the beginning areas. These mobs drop one or two Hide Scraps each. I came across a lot of them in the Old Camp area. Be careful with the wolves because they move in packs, which can be harder to deal with when you lack better weapons. You also find Hide Scraps occasionally in chests and containers, or from looting bodies.

How to Use Hide Scraps for Hide

While you can use Hide Scraps as they are for crafting, unlocking the Loom means you can craft Hide using Hide Scraps. Hide drops from larger animals that you find in the Elven Quarters like deer. However, it can be more efficient to craft Hide at the Loom. You can make a Loom using:

  • x24 Ubâsam Wood
  • x3 Silver Ingot
  • x6 Cloth Scraps

The scraps drop off animals that are easier to find and kill. Then, you only need three Hide Scraps and one Resin to make a Hide. So you could load up the Loom’s queue, then leave to work on other tasks while crafting Hide.

And that covers how to get Hide Scraps in Lord of the Rings Return to Moria and how to make them into Hide. You’ll get a lot of use out of both these resources, and it’s nice to have multiple ways to gather them.
