Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria — Where to Find Cranberries

If you're looking to make complex dishes in Return to Moria, cranberries are a must have.

There are multiple Middle Earth dishes that provide useful buffs, including some that restore your health and energy. Tart red berries are an important ingredient in some of these. Unfortunately, they’re rare and only grow in a single region. Here’s where to find cranberries in LotR: Return to Moria.

How to Get Cranberries in Return to Morai Cranberry

Much like their real-life counterpart, cranberries are found in shallow water sources in LotR. They can be hard to track down if you don’t know where to look, and they don’t appear in every water source, making them relatively scarce. Here’s where we need to search for cranberries.

Return to Moria Cranberry Locations

You can find two locations with Cranberries in the Western Halls. Again, these aren’t found anywhere else. Luckily, all of these cranberry patches respawn. Though you’ll return here often, it’s worth it since you have an endless supply of the fruit without having to venture too far.

The first location is in the shallow stream near Ori’s Camp, where you complete the base rebuild tutorial. There are roughly five patches you can pick.

The second location is a room hidden behind mining dirt. It only contains five patches, but the area has vases that can drop other plant seeds, as well as farm plots you can plant. Unfortunately, you can’t grow Cranberries in this manner, but you can diversify your meals by growing other things. There are houses you can restore, making this spot a nice little camp. This is one of my favorite places in the Western Halls area because of that.

Unfortunately, you won’t find cranberries when venturing deeper into the Western Mines, especially down toward the Crystal Descent. The above locations are the only places I’ve discovered the resource so far. If dishes like Fruit Salad are a staple for you, you may want to reserve an inventory slot for a max stack of Cranberries as you head to the Lower Deeps.

Recipes That Use Cranberries

When you first collect cranberries, you’ll unlock the Stuffed Mushrooms recipe. That’s not the only one that calls for them, however. Here’s an in-progress list of recipes I’ve discovered so far.

  • Stuffed Mushrooms
    • Cranberries x1
    • Sunion x1
    • Mushrooms x2
  • Fruit Salad
    • Cave Honey x3
    • Grabapple x2
    • Cranberries x1
  • Refreshing Salad
    • Aule Bloom x3
    • Cabbage x3
    • Cranberries x1

Eating the dishes above restores your health and energy. They also let you “feel stuffed for a short time.” Feeling stuffed for a short time gives you the Well-Fed buff, where actions cost less energy.

That’s where to find Cranberries in Lord of the Rings Return to Moria. For other ingredient locations, how to get certain ores, or where to find the Great Forge, check out our guides vault.
