How to Get and Use Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen

There are a few ways to get Vestige Seeds in the game:

  • Dropped by Sinner bosses.
  • Purchased from Molhu in the Skyrest hub.

How to Create Vestige Seed Temporary Fast Travel Points

The first Vestige Seed you acquire in the game is given to you by the Iron Wayfarer. You’re then urged to use it on a nearby flowerbed, which will create a temporary fast travel point known as a Seedling. What I mean by temporary is this:

  • You can keep using a particular Seedling waypoint as many times as you’d like to fast travel between that and another permanent Vestige waypoint.
  • The moment you create another Seedling waypoint, the previous one gets overwritten.

I found the above mechanic quite a hassle. There were instances when I had to leave one zone just to go to another area. Even though I wanted to return to the previous location, plopping down a different Seedling meant that I had no choice but to take the longer route.

Likewise, bear in mind that the placements of Umbral Flowerbeds can be somewhat problematic. For instance, it’s possible to see one in an area where there’s no immediate danger. In other places, it might be fairly close to a permanent Vestige. As such, it’s really up to you if you’d use a Seedling or not.

Which Bosses Drop Vestige Seeds?

As mentioned earlier, the Lords of the Fallen Vestige Seeds tend to be dropped by Sinner-type bosses. Think of them as minibosses or elites. Later on, you’ll notice regular variants that are still as dangerous as ever. Examples of Sinner bosses include the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity, the Mendacious Visage, and the Ruiner.

How to Buy Vestige Seeds from Molhu

You may also purchase Vestige Seeds from an NPC named Molhu, who’s found in one of the side chambers in the Skyrest hub. Each Vestige Seed costs 2,500 Vigor, and that’s quite expensive.

I have to remind you that Vigor is also used to level up your character’s stats, buy spells/items, and upgrade your weapons. As such, I feel that it’s a huge waste to just spend the currency on temporary checkpoints.
