There are 40 offensive playbooks in Madden 24, including 32 team playbooks and 8 alternate playbooks. The current meta strongly relies on the team playbooks for the simple reason that their schemes and formations are too good on the field to pass up. But there are a couple of alternate playbooks that should be discussed as well. Our guide will provide you with the 10 best offensive playbooks in Madden 24, including the most effective formations and schemes.

10 Best Offensive Playbooks in Madden 24

Here’s a short list of the 10 best offensive playbooks in Madden 24:

  • New York Jets
  • Chiefs/Commanders
  • Denver Broncos
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Colts/Eagles
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Balanced/Spread

New York Jets

The Jets offensive playbook has the best passing formations in the game, and their running schemes are very good too. These include I Form Close formations for passing, such as PA TE Leak and PA Boot Flow, and Strong I Close running formations, including Quick Toss and HB Dive. But the most popular current offensive formation is Shotgun Tight Offset TE, which includes 10 amazing passing schemes and two running schemes. These Shotgun formations are basically exact replicas of the Packers formations, which have been adopted by the Jets this season.

Chiefs/Commanders

Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Commanders have exactly the same offensive playbooks this year, so you can choose either of them. Just like the New York Jets, these two teams have their main focus on the passing formations, such as Singleback Bunch X Nasty, including the two favorite schemes, PA Boot Slide and PA Deep Out, as well as Pistol Bunch TE schemes, such as Cross Drag and PA Curls. I noticed that these formations give great maneuverability, although most Madden 24 players prefer to use PA Corner and PA Double Post from the Shotgun Bunch Str Nasty set.

Denver Broncos

If you prefer classic offensive formations, then I highly recommend the Denver Broncos playbook this year. It has a Shotgun Tight formation with such schemes as Frisco and PA Spot, while the Read Option running scheme is very much unique to this specific team. It’s incredibly aggressive, so weigh your options before going all in on offense. If you want your running schemes to be less extreme, then opt for I Form Close running formations, such as HB Stretch or HB Iso. Lastly, if you want to maintain a balance of offense and defense, then choose the Shotgun Wing Flex Offset, which includes 0 1 Trap and PA Double Post for running and passing.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers had a fantastic run last year with their offensive formations, but many things have changed since then. Some players decided not to use the Steelers this year due to these changes, but others have noted that it’s still really good, so it did make it into our top 10 list. Fortunately, the Shotgun Tight Doubles have stayed the same, including Cross Wheels and Shot Fade Cross. But there are also some innovations in the form of Shotgun Bunch formations. Here, I’d pay special attention to the Double Cross and Bunch Trail passing schemes.

Colts/Eagles

The Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles have yet another identical offensive playbooks this year, with lots of returning formations from last year. The best one is obviously Shotgun Bunch Offset with its trademark Bunch Drive and Bench Pivot. But there’s also a brand new formation called Shotgun Bunch Str Nasty, which includes a powerful RPO scheme known as Read Bubble. The Colts and Eagles also have seven amazing Pistol formations, the best one being Pistol Deuce Close, which can significantly improve your defense.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are known for their call a run-first offense plays, where you run to force the opponent team to stack the box with defenses, and once they do it, you hit them with everything you have. Try out such formations as Singleback Bunch X Nasty with Zone Fake Jet Wk and Singleback Deuce Close with Zone Split Wk. This team also has a completely unique Shotgun Deebo Package formation with such unusual and confusing schemes for an opposing team as Y-Off Power Read and Y-Off Power 0.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings may not have the flashiest formations, but they’re simple and effective enough that even beginner players can easily handle them. If you don’t want to go into each formation and deduce which one would fit you the best, then simply opt for the Singleback Bunch X Nasty formation, which includes 21 different plays, and you’ll be covered for all of your games from this one set. This universal strategy is fast and easy to learn, but if you want to add something extra, then I highly recommend using the Shotgun Bunch TE, which includes the famous RPO Alert Bubble.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are similar to the Vikings in many ways, and their Singleback Bunch X Nasty playbook is just as good. Every single scheme in that formation works wonders, regardless of which part of the field you want to take. I also want to point out the importance of the Shotgun Bunch Offset formation, specifically the Inside Zone Split, which isn’t as good as the one in the Colts/Eagles formation but is a solid scheme for a quick and efficient offset run.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have quite a few Bunch-type formations that are in the center of the Madden 24 meta right now, so be sure to check them all out, including: Singleback Bunch TE, Singleback Bunch X Nasty, Shotgun Bunch HB Str, Shotgun Bunch Offset, and Shotgun Bunch Quads. I wouldn’t even look at any other formations, as these will provide you with all the offense you’ll ever need. The passes included in these schemes are excellent, unless you want more offset formations, such as Shotgun Doubles Offset Wk or Shotgun Wing Slot Offset.

Balanced/Spread

This is one of the few alternate offensive playbooks in Madden 24, actually two of them, but very much the same. The two best formations here are Pistol Bunch and Shotgun Ace, which include a very strong Vertical Pass and PA Read. If you don’t want to strategize according to any of the existing team formations, then these alternate schemes should work for you.
