Mighty Doom Boss Guide: How to Beat All Bosses

Follow our guide if you want to know how to beat all 20 bosses in Mighty Doom.

There are nine chapters and 20 bosses in Mighty Doom. Because of how the chapters are broken up, you’ll encounter most boss enemies several times throughout the game — except the bosses found in Chapter 5: Nekravol, which you’ll only fight once. This guide tells you how to beat them all.

Below, we’ve laid out the general tips and strategies for defeating all of the bosses in Mighty Doom. We’ve broken these fights out by overarching region in their general order. Note that it’s possible that you will fight these bosses in other chapters than those outlined below.

All Mighty DOOM Boss Fights

Earth Chapter Bosses

  1. Whiplash – Stand at the entrance to the arena without approaching Whiplash and shoot them from a distance. This boss’ projectiles move toward you in a wave, and it has two attacks: a single-projectile volley and a triple-projectile volley. The key is to dodge both of them, though you may need to squeeze through the gaps in the triple-projectile version to avoid damage. Keeping distance helps here.
  2. Blaster Soldier – This is the same boss as Shield Soldier (below) and appears in other portions of the game, as well. This boss doesn’t have shields guarding him. Blaster Soldier has two attacks: a volley of roughly 10 straight projectiles and a wave of four blasts that expand in a circle from his center. Dodge them.
  3. Cacodemon – Approach Cacodemon first, but then back down toward the initial position, using a similar strategy to Whiplash. This boss will fire orbs in three-shot bursts, and each of the orbs explodes into two smaller orbs when they hit the wall, making a bullet hell quickly. Simply dodge through the orbs while dealing damage to win.
  4. Imp – Imp also shoots a volley of projectiles, but they tend to come in random numbers. Sometimes the boss shoots one or a few, and at other times a whole array. Approaching forward and backing down should be your strategy when avoiding his projectiles. Once he stops shooting, go all the way behind him and stab him for a glory kill.
  5. Hell Priest – Hell Priest is perhaps the hardest boss to this point. Stay away from the marked spots on the ground, as they will deal damage a short time after they appear. Get close to the boss, dealing maximum damage with such weapons as Combat Shotgun or Super Shotgun but be aware of Hell Priest’s AoE attack, where it pushes out a ring of ice or fire from its center. The attack starts from Hell Priest’s feet and moves outward, so look for ice or fire there and move away quickly.

Exultia Chapter Bosses

  1. Lost Soul – This boss shoots back and forth across the arena quickly (wall to wall), so be ready to change your position once it turns its head toward you. Lost Soul also spawns small Lost Souls that deal damage to your Mini Slayer and can keep you from dealing optimal damage to the boss. Dodge Lost Souls’ dashes and focus fire on the boss as much as possible to take it down.
  2. Mecha Zombie – In Mecha Zombie’s first phase, you’ll need to dodge his fast-moving projectiles by simply moving left and right. These can easily melt your health if you’re too close, so try to keep your distance here. Once he unleashes a flamethrower in the second phase, move back to the start of the arena, staying away from the wide, spinning arc.
  3. Pinky – This boss is the same as Lost Soul, so follow the similar strategy as before. Additionally, stay away from the markers on the ground, as that’s where the meteors hit.
  4. Revenant – Revenant can use its jetpack to fly around the arena to new locations, though the boss deals no damage when hitting the ground. Once on the ground, Revenant has a five-missile volley attack where the missiles track you. It also has an attack that fires dozens of missiles in a circle around it, which also home toward you. You’ll need to dodge through the missiles to avoid that one.
  5. Baron of Hell – Baron of Hell has several attacks. The first is a ground-pound where it jumps in the air and lands in a red circle on the map. Simply stay out the circle to avoid damage. Baron’s second attack fires three spear-like projectiles toward you at an interval; the first two are in quick succession, while the third is slightly delayed. Dodge them to survive. The third attack is a melee attack, where Baron swipes at you while traveling in a single direction. Simply step to the side of the attack. A weapon with the Bounce ability works well here.

Nekravol Chapter Bosses

  1. Hell Razer – Hell Razor has two attacks, both laser related. First, he hits you with a laser that dims, so wait for it and move away. Second, remember the position of the laser web and stand right between them before the actual damage hits you in the second wave. He will repeat this process several times, so be prepared. Approach him as close as you can and deal damage with a heavy weapon, such as Hand Cannon.
  2. Zombie – This is a very slow boss, where you need to avoid his Acid Belch and Swipe that goes in a wide arc. The three acid bombs also leave acid pools on the ground that deal damage over time. On top of that, Zombie spawns smaller zombies that also leave acid pools behind, dealing damage. Shoot him from the corners of the arena at the top or the bottom of the screen, which funnels his minions from the sides and keeps the acid pools out of the center.
  3. Prowler – Prowler teleports and clones himself in the four corners of the arena, so follow his purple projectile and aim beforehand, as that’s where he’s going to spawn. Once he clones himself, you need to shoot at all targets to find the correct Prowler — and cut down on the purple projectiles flooding the screen.
  4. Mancubus – The final boss of the chapter is similar to Mecha Zombie, but Mancubus has two attacks: a three-phase volley of three projectiles each and a flamethrower attack. Try to weave between the projectiles — running can put you in a bad spot. When Mancubus knocks his hands together, he’ll use a flamethrower attack in an arc in front of him.

DOOM Hunter Base Chapter Bosses

  1. Hell Knight – This skeletal boss will constantly chase you around the arena, so it’s important to keep your distance from him by backing away and shooting at the same time. His attacks include wide swipes with his claws and jump attacks where he tries to take a hold of you. Stay on the move to win.
  2. Tentacle – Tentacle has two phases. The first phase consists of a single large tentacle that will emerge from the ground (similar to the attacks from regular Tentacle enemies found in the Daily Challenges), so be sure to dodge its ground slams, indicated by the gold bar on the ground. In the second phase, two more tentacles will appear on its sides, trying to cut off your route behind the boss.
  3. Shield Soldier – This boss is guarded by a ring of rotating shields, which keep it from taking constant damage. It also shoots an arc of projectiles that have Bounce. You can destroy the shields by shooting them — but they can respawn — and be nimble to dodge through the projectiles. A BFG-9000 works well here, as do perks or gear that improve dodge chance.
  4. Gargoyle – This is the second flying boss in the game alongside the Revenant. The strategy with Gargoyle is similar, so you’ll need a weapon with missiles to hit it while it’s flying. This boss will also spawn smaller Gargoyles, which you also need to kill — and they, too, keep you from damaging the boss consistently. The large Gargoyle will throw multiple heavy acid bombs from the top, and smaller Gargoyles will shoot acid projectiles as they fly.
  5. Doom Hunter – The last boss of the chapter moves from left to right, shooting his rifle, and he has a lot of HP. It’s not recommended to get too close to Doom Hunter since it’s harder to dodge his projectiles. Keep your distance and be patient until you completely deplete his health gauge. His attacks include plasma projectiles, fire projectiles, and homing missiles that come all at once.

Hell on Earth Chapter Bosses

  1. Fire Hell Priest – The final boss of the game is once again similar to Hell Priest from the first chapter, but this time there are more markers that you’ll need to avoid on the ground. He also has more HP. The strategy here of getting as close as possible and dealing shotgun damage stays the same. Note that the first wave of hellfire will have smaller fire bombs, while the second wave will have much larger and heavier ones falling from the top.
