Mortal Kombat: Onslaught Best Characters Tier List

Here’s a quick breakdown of our tier list of the best characters in Mortal Kombat: Onslaught:

  • S-Tier Characters:
    • Erron Black (Deadeye)
    • Goro
    • Kung Lao (Razor Hat)
  • A-Tier Characters:
    • Shang Tsung
    • Sindel
    • Shao Kahn (Undying)
    • Scorpion (Hellfire)
  • B-Tier Characters:
    • Sonya Blade (Camouflage)
    • Frost
    • Noob Saibot

S-Tier Characters

Erron Black (Deadeye)

  • ATK: 644
  • DEF: 132
  • HP: 6,487

Deadeye is the best defense and support character in the game with his ranged damage capabilities. His best move is Black Dragon Mark, which is a devastating single-target ranged attack that deals 215% damage. But I was especially impressed with his support skill Sniper’s Luck, which boosts all critical damage of his allies by 5%. It may not seem much, but once it applies to all allies, that damage stacks up really quickly.

Goro

  • ATK: 591
  • DEF: 176
  • HP: 7,250

Goro is another great defender, but this time with powerful melee attacks. His high HP allows him to take on a lot of damage, making him a great tank on any team. Goro’s finest skill is Dragon Breath, which is an AoE attack that deals 187% burn damage. My personal favorite one is his Demoralizing Presence ability, which makes him stronger against melee damage and boosts his Shokan ally’s HP.

Kung Lao (Razor Hat)

  • ATK: 696
  • DEF: 154
  • HP: 6,487

Razor Hat is a true melee warrior with some of the highest physical attack power in the game. Although most of his attacks deal melee damage, you can use the Shaved Thin ability to throw his hat that hits and bounces off of the enemies, striking the first target for 250% damage and each consecutive one for another 50% damage. I also recommend comboing this attack with his Razor’s Edge skill, which applies bleeding damage to all his hat attacks.

A-Tier Characters

Shang Tsung

  • ATK: 565
  • DEF: 126
  • HP: 5,778

Shang Tsung can be a great alternative to Deadeye, as he’s also a supporter healer with some solid ranged magical damage. Still, I’d use Shang Tsung mostly for his healing skills, such as Soul Well, which heals a single ally up to his max HP. Additionally, he has some very useful team-boosting magic, including his Malignant Sorcery and Empower Souls spells.

Sindel

  • ATK: 750
  • DEF: 42
  • HP: 4,419

If you’re looking specifically for a powerful mage that can deal lots of ranged damage, then nothing can beat Sindel’s attacks. Her finest attack is Shattered Will, which not only deals 200% ranged damage but also prevents the target from healing. Although Sindel is highly vulnerable on her own, if you pair her up with a strong tank and healer, she can get very dangerous.

Shao Kahn (Undying)

  • ATK: 538
  • DEF: 198
  • HP: 7,632

The best alternative for Goro would be Shao Kahn, who’s got even more HP but less attack power. My personal favorite skill of Shao Kahn is Dragon Scales, which taunts all enemies and grants him a 25% defense boost. What’s really cool about this skill is that 20% of all incoming damage is reflected back at the enemies. Once his HP drops below 60%, you can activate his Kahn’s Fury ability, which boosts his attack power by 25% and his HP regeneration by another 35%.

Scorpion (Hellfire)

Image via Warner Bros. Games
  • ATK: 801
  • DEF: 110
  • HP: 5,724

Hellfire Scorpion is the latest addition to the Mortal Kombat: Onslaught roster, bringing some extra powers to the already well-established character. This version of Scorpion has the unique Hellfire Slashes ability, which deals three targeted slashes and then explodes in a single burst of AoE damage, applying burn effects and preventing enemies from healing. The only drawback of this new character is that it lacks defensive skills.

B-Tier Characters

Sonya Blade (Camouflage)

Image via Warner Bros. Games
  • ATK: 473
  • DEF: 189
  • HP: 6,798

Sonya Blade is a truly unique character that has several special abilities. One of them is Active Camouflage, which charms enemies and makes them attack each other. The other one is Air Spary, which deals 132% damage to a single target with a 30% chance of a knockdown. If the knockdown is successful, then it deals another 50% damage on top.

Frost

  • ATK: 657
  • DEF: 84
  • HP: 5,099

Frost is the Sub-Zero’s apprentice, and it looks like she turned out to be better than Sub-Zero himself. Her Auger Lunge attack is awesome, dealing 500% damage to a single target and freezing all other enemies on her way. If you combine it with her Icy Strategy, then all your allies will be able to deal an extra 10% damage to all frozen enemies. Too bad that her defense and HP stats are so low; otherwise, she’d be at least an A-tier character.

Noob Saibot

Image via Warner Bros. Games
  • ATK: 473
  • DEF: 189
  • HP: 6,798

Noob Saibot may not have the highest damage or defense, but he has some truly unique skills. His best one by far is Shadow Double, which allows you to summon a copy of Noob Saibot with 30% of all his stats. It’s a great strategy to distract enemies from the real one. He also synergizes with magic characters and gets an extra 5% HP boost for each magic character in your team.
