How to beat the Samurott Tera Raid running from April 7 to 9 in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The 7-star Samurott Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will take place on April 7 to 9. It offers players some amazing rewards, including a Samurott with a Bug Tera Type and Mightiest Mark.

How to Find 7-Star Samurott

In order to enter the 7-Star Tera Raid event players must first unlock the 6-Star Tera Raid battles. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Complete the main story and beat all gym leaders.
  2. Complete the Academy Ace Tournament.
  3. Complete at least eight 4-Star and 5-Star Raids.
  4. Receive the call from Jacq, who will offer you to take part in the Black Crystal Tera Raid.

Since this Samurott is a Bug Type Pokemon, you will need to join the raid indicated by the Black Tera Raid marker on the map with the Bug Type icon on top of it.

How to Beat 7-Star Samurott

Samurott’s Weaknesses

In order to understand how to beat the 7-Star Samurott players must first be aware of his main weaknesses. Here they are:

  • Fire Type Pokemon
  • Flying Type Pokemon
  • Rock Type Pokemon

Note that typically Samurott is Water Type, but in this raid he is Bug Type, and that’s why only the three types of Pokemon listed above can really deal enough damage to defeat him.

Samurott’s Movesets and Abilities

Samurott’s main ability in this raid is Shell Armor, which protects him from critical hits. He will also use the following movesets during the battle:

  • Aqua Cutter
  • Megahorn
  • Night Slash
  • Drill Run
  • Focus Energy
  • Bulldoze
  • Swords Dance

Samurott typically follows a certain order of moves, but it may also change depending on your own actions. He always begins with Focus Energy and Bulldoze. Once he loses some HP, he will use Energy Shield. Once he drops to half of his health, then he will initiate the Swords Dance.

Best Samurott Counters

Considering Samurott’s main weaknesses as a Bug Type Pokemon in this raid, here are the three best counter Pokemon with their own best moves:

  • Annihilape:
    • Rage Fist
    • Drain Punch
    • Bulk Up
    • Screech
  • Paldean Tauros (Fire Form):
    • Tail Whip
    • Raging Bull
    • Sunny Day
    • Will-O-Wisp
  • Koraidon:
