Ratchet & Clank (PS4) – How to get your pre-order exclusive Bouncer weapon

If you pre-ordered and want to get your hands on the (frankly OP) Bouncer, here's how.

The Bouncer is the most well-known weapon in the Ratchet & Clank series, but not everyone can get their hands on it in the new PlayStation 4 reboot. The weapon is only available to those who pre-ordered.

It’s a bummer for anyone who didn’t pre-order to miss out on the Bouncer, which was and is an absolute powerhouse of a weapon. This bad boy shoots out bombs that explode into smaller bombs on impact and is probably the strongest weapon in the Ratchet & Clank reboot — which is certainly not a surprise to long time fans.

Just to reiterate: It is not possible to get the Bouncer in-game unless you pre-ordered from participating retailers. In North America, these retailers were Amazon, Target, Best Buy, GameStop, Wal-Mart, and the PlayStation Store. Other regions had different retailers participating in the promotion.

If you did pre-order from a participating retailer and want to get your hands on it, you have to put forth a little effort. But just a little bit.

Anyone who pre-ordered Ratchet & Clank directly on the PlayStation Store shouldn’t have to input any codes and manually start a separate download.

Physical copy pre-order buyers need to go onto the PlayStation Store, scroll all the way down to ‘Redeem Code’, and input their pre-order code to initiate the Bouncer download.

Getting the Bouncer in-game

If you have confirmed that you have pre-order exclusive Bouncer downloaded, you have one more step to go: Actually getting the weapon in the game. Getting it is actually very easy, but easy to miss.

You can pick up the Bouncer once you reach the planet Novalis, about an hour into the game. Once there, you’ll finally come across your first Gadgetron vendor — and that vendor sells the Bouncer for a measly 100 Bolts. Buy it up and it’s yours to use for the rest of the game.

I didn’t have any issue grabbing my Bouncer, but word in the community is that some people who pre-ordered the game don’t see the weapon available for purchase even after confirming their code on the PlayStation Store. The cause of this is unknown at the time of writing, but hopefully it will be fixed soon.
