Muscle Parasites in Rimworld is a non-lethal parasitic disease that reduces the effectiveness of the patient. It can randomly infect your pawns through combat and animal wounds in conditions such as warm and moist areas. While it cannot be cured, it can be treated. How to Get Rid of Muscle Parasites in Rimworld
As we mentioned, once your pawn is infected by Muscle Parasites, the condition is not cured over time. You need to treat them in a hospital facility. Throughout the entire infection, the pawn will be affected by the following conditions:
- Pain (+20%)
- Impaired manipulation (-30%)
- Impaired movement speed (-30%)
- Tiredness (x200%)
All in all, this is not one of the more extreme infections in Rimworld as it simply slows down your worker. They will sleep a lot more and they will receive a debuff if forced to work. Of course, you want them to be working. While there are much worse diseases, a pawn who can’t work is a pawn you probably won’t want to keep around.
Muscle Parasite Treatments
To cure Muscle Parasites in Rimworld, the pawn’s treatment threshold must reach a cumulative 300%. This is the same as when treating Gut Worms so you will need a pawn with great medical skill if you want to remove them efficiently. Additionally, you’ll want a sterile environment with hospital beds and an appropriate temperature.
Note that you will need 48 in-game hours between each treatment. Useful tools in treating Muscle Parasites include the Healer Mech Serum, which instantly treats the disease. The Biosculpter pod is also useful. Of course, both of these are solutions for later in a playthrough.
Since each patient has a cooldown time before they can be treated again you will want to ensure the best quality for your medicine. Moreover, depending on your doctors’ medical skill and the physical conditions, the afflicted pawn can be cured in several days or the disease can become prolonged.
