Sword Art Online: How to Equip Skills

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet doesn't hold your hand, and equipping skills in the game can be a bit confusing. We're here to show you exactly how to do it.

There are a few mechanics that Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet doesn’t explain all too well, and how to equip skills is one of them. While you can buy skills using the main menu, you might’ve noticed that there’s no option to set them there. This is because you can only do this from a terminal located at your home or in the lobby.

How to Equip Skills in Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet

There are two locations that you can equip skills from. The first is a terminal located on the left-hand side of your home, and the other is by the reception in the lobby. These panels are specifically used for this purpose.

Walk up to the terminal, press Use to pull up the menu, select Skill Sets, and then choose the character you want to equip skills to.

You’ll find that along the top of the window are icons for each weapon category. Simply scroll over to the weapon of your choosing and apply the skills you’ve purchased to the empty slots available. You’ll have to do this for every single weapon you want to equip skills to.

This method doesn’t only work for your main character. Keep in mind that other characters have their own sets that you can customize as well!

If you’re having difficulty equipping skills or new weapons, make sure that you’re using Character Points to level up the appropriate stats. Each skill and weapon has a stat requirement, and if you don’t meet it, you won’t be able to equip it.

Take sword skills, for example. They rely mostly on Agility, so it’s important to consider this when leveling up stats on sword-wielding characters. You also want to check that you have enough Skill Points or SP to purchase the skill.

Born in 89 and raised through the weird 90s, I got to experience what I consider to be the golden age of video games. At an early age, I was shooting down ducks in Duck Hunt and saving camp counselors from Jason's wrath in Friday the 13th. As an only child from strict woman dominated Puerto Rican household, my main source of entertainment outside of school became my PlayStation. That soon turned into my Nintendo 64, Gameboy Color, and PlayStation 2. I was a nerd in every sense of the word. When I wasn't pulling all-nighters trying to beat the latest Final Fantasy JRPG, I was watching WWF Wrestling and organizing my sweet Pokemon card deck.
