How to Drop Items from Inventory in The Front

The Front is still in early access, so essential abilities are not as obvious as you’d want them to be. Dropping items from your inventory falls into this category of puzzling actions. You’ll want to know how to drop items because foods will expire and waste space in your backpack. Thankfully, once you know how to do it, it’s very straightforward. Here’s how to drop items from your inventory:

  • Open your inventory with B.
  • Click the item you want to drop with LMB.
  • Press D to drop the item.
    • You need to split an item stack before this if you only want to drop a portion of it.

Press F to collect a dropped item, as you do for any other item you can forage. Notably, each dropped item will have a five minute decay period after you drop it. Once the decay time clock expires, the item will disappear.

If you’re playing on another player’s server, there’s a chance they changed the time to decay. So, I recommend you beware of the potential consequences when dropping items on a public server. Importantly, you can change the settings for the decay clock on your own server if you’re playing solo. You can maximize or minimize it to customize your experience that way.

That’s all you need to know on how to drop items in The Front. Stay tuned for more tips, tricks, and walkthroughs at our TF guides hub here.
