What Is the Ark: Survival Ascended Console Release Date?

Ark: Survival Ascended is out on PC, but the console release date is a little bit away.

The pseudo-remaster received a surprise PC release, but console players have been left in the dust. If you tame your dinos exclusively on console, you’ll want to know the Ark: Survival Ascended console release date.

When Will Ark: Survival Ascended Come Out on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?

If you’re still on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One playing Ark: Survival Evolved, you’ll need to move onto the current generation if you want to keep playing Ark online. The rise of Survival Ascended means the servers for Survival Evolved are being phased out, they have been already. But even if you want to play the game on your preferred console now, you don’t have that much longer to wait.

Ark: Survival Ascended Xbox Series X|S Release Date

Studio Wildcard have announced the official release date for Ark: Survival Ascended on the Xbox Series X|S to be November 14. Along with its release on the Microsoft console will come its release on the Microsoft Store on PC, should you prefer not to use Steam. Xbox Series X|S players will be able to play Ark in crossplay, but will also have their own dedicated Xbox-only servers to play with.

Ark: Survival Ascended PlayStation 5 Release Date

While Studio Wildcard don’t have a set date for the Ark PS5 release, they do state in an announcement post that it will be coming to PlayStation at the end of November. That may not be what you were hoping to hear, but it won’t be too far off from the Xbox release and is still in time for the holiday season.

What’s Different in Ark: Survival Ascended

The decision to phase out Survival Evolved for Survival Ascended was a controversial one due to the original being phased out for essentially a newer, shinier version of the same game at $39.99 without any options for the playerbase to stick with the original if they liked.

All of the maps other than The Island still need to be ported to Survival Ascended, though they will be included with the game purchase rather than paid DLCs. In exchange, Survival Ascended has a revamped character customization system, new items, a revamped UI, and spit-screen co-op support. The last one on that list is what I’m waiting for most out of the console port, provided it can run at a reasonable frame rate.

The Ark: Survival Ascended console release date isn’t officially set for a specific day, but we haven’t heard about any change in plans. Look for more Ark: Survival Ascended guides here on GameSkinny.
