There is a surprising amount of post-game content in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, between Exotic missions, gear-gathering, the Raid, and brand-new activities. One of the smaller but still fun things to do is find the lost Ghosts during the Convalescence: Rootbound and Alone in the Dark quests for Micah-10. There are six lost Ghosts in all, and here’s where they’re located.
All Lost Ghost Locations in Destiny 2: The Final Shape
There are 6 lost Ghosts to find, and while you’ll need to locate the first one as part of Micah-10’s Convalescence: Rootbound quest, the remaining five are a part of Alone in the Dark repeatable questline that lets you farm Pale Heart weapons. These quests also unlock the Cyst activities, which are their own brand of “fun.”
You’ll find the lost Ghosts themselves in each of the three Lost Sectors in the Pale Heart, for a total of two Ghosts per Lost Sector. The Lost Sector path starts in the Landing’s Forgotten Deep, then goes to the Blooming’s Blooming Deep, and finally, the Impasse’s Broken Deep. You’ll enter each one time for three Ghosts, then repeat the sequence for the next set. The same is true once you enter the repeatable stage of the questline, where you can farm Deepsight Pale Heart Weapons.
First Forgotten Deep Ghost Location
To find the first lost Ghost in the Forgotten Deep, you need almost to complete the entire Lost Sector. The Ghost itself is in the final room with the boss and loot chest. And while you don’t strictly need to beat the boss and claim the loot to save the Ghost, a little extra loot never hurt anyone.
The Ghost is on the floor of the central platform directly across from the boss. It’s nestled next to the large tree jutting out of the platform. As an additional marker, there’s a satellite dish to the Ghost’s right.
Second Forgotten Deep Ghost Location
The second lost Ghost in the Forgotten Deep is easier to get to. You’ll find it in the final crystal shatter section. If you use the orange-lit wooden structure as a marker, look toward the large tree and pond across the way, near where the second crystal shatter buff appears. The Ghost rests at the base of the tree and the edge of the pond.
First Blooming Deep Ghost Location
Between the two, the first Blooming Deep lost Ghost is the trickier to find, as it’s much more off the beaten path. Specifically, you’ll find it before you reach the large, orange-lit room where you fight a massive group of Taken and a yellow-bar ogre. When you reach the platform just before reaching the orange room, look to your left toward the bent tree near a bright light source. Hop over to it and find the Ghost at the base of the tree.
Second Blooming Deep Ghost Location
Like the first lost Ghost in the Forgotten Deep, you will need to almost complete the Blooming Deep Lost Sector to find the second one there. Just before you enter the final encounter arena, turn around and look up at the tree limb that’s partly in light and partly in shadow. The Ghost is on top of it.
First Broken Deep Ghost Location
I personally think the Broken Deep lost Ghosts are the trickiest of the bunch, due in large part to their hiding places and the general orange tint of the Lost Sector. The first took me longer than I’d like to admit, and you’ll find it in the second major encounter room on the left side between two vent machines and on a pile of trash.
Second Broken Deep Ghost Location
The second lost Ghost in the Broken Deep is the only one that’s truly out of sight. Go past the second encounter area into the blue-lit hallway. When you reach the platform before the fan room with the Bound enemy on it, you need to use Prismatic to effect, instead of continuing, jump up onto the grating above the group of foes. You’ll see the Ghost against the wall.
Once you’ve found all six Ghosts, you’ll likely have completed the first set of Alone in the Dark quests. Once you earn the final one of those, you can start farming the questlines for a chance at Deepsight versions of specific Pale Heart weapons and start building toward craftable versions of each.
