Yiga Set and Yiga Hideout Location

To get the TotK Earthwake Manual, which automatically unlocks the ability itself, you’ll have to infiltrate the Yiga Clan. This group of assassins will be a thorn on your side while you’re exploring, but you’ll find a means of tricking them into thinking that you’re part of the group. To do this, you’ll need to acquire the full Yiga Armor Set, which consists of the Yiga Mask, Yiga Armor, and Yiga Tights.

Once you have all three pieces, make your way to the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower. If you use the launch pad and head slightly to the east, you’ll see a ravine with a well-hidden base. This is the Yiga Hideout. The coordinates are: -3703, -1370, 0331.

Training Challenge and Earthwake Manual

Now, it’s time to obtain the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Earthwake ability. Enter the facility and make your way to the training area at the back. Talk to the Blademaster and accept the challenge. It’ll cost you 100 rupees, and you need to defeat three ninjas within 60 seconds. If you’re successful, you’ll receive the Yiga Fabric.

Next, accept and win the second challenge. This time, you’ll have to beat five ninjas in 60 seconds. This nets you the Earthwake Manual. I should note that there’s a third challenge with its own nifty reward, but I won’t spoil it here.

How to Use the Earthwake Ability

In any case, now that you have the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Earthwake ability, how do you actually use it? Well, for starters, you’ll want to unequip your melee weapon. Then, simply press the Y button.

Instead of a slice or a swipe, Link will do a charged wind-up. He’ll then slam his fist on the ground, creating a shockwave and causing spikes to erupt.

You can charge the move further by holding the Y button before letting go. This will increase the distance of the ground rip before the spike eruption. Likewise, this ability only depletes stamina, so you won’t need to worry about weapon degradation.

I personally find this quite nifty to use when opponents are positioned along cliffsides, since the action can also knock them back. I was able to quickly get rid of opponents while I was in a hurry, as opposed to duking it out.

With that, you now know how to get the TotK Earthwake Ability. There are countless activities and mechanics in the game, so be sure to visit our Zelda: TotK guides hub for more tips, strategies, and walkthroughs.
