Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — How to Make Korok Fans in TotK

Here's how to make a Korok Fan in Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Korok Fan is just one of many useful new tools Link can use to solve puzzles and traverse Hyrule. Tons of crafting recipes are made possible with the new fuse ability, and the Frond Guster is one you’ll want to know how to build. Whether you need to fan some flames, direct a boat, or blow some enemies away, the Korok Fan will help you out in a pinch. Here’s how to make TotK Korok Fans.

The process of crafting one of these devices is completely different than building a Zonai Fan. Luckily, it’s much easier, as well. To make a TotK Kork Fan (aka a Korok Frond Guster), you need to acquire a Korok Frond first, as well as a Tree Branch.

  • Korok Fronds: These can be farmed by chopping down large trees with a Stone Axe.
  • Tree Branches: These are acquired for the Guster by chopping down smaller trees, like the ones in the image above.

To actually craft a Korok Fan:

  • Go into your inventory.
  • Find the Korok Frond.
  • Select it with “A.”
  • Choose Hold.
  • Exit your inventory menu
  • Drop the Korok Frond Guster to the ground with “A.”

Equip your Tree Branch as your primary weapon. You can do so from your inventory or from the right button on the D-pad shortcut. Select your Fuse ability from the action wheel with L and Fuse the two materials together by pressing Y. You’ve now crafted the Korok-Frond Guster!

That’s it for our guide on how to make Korok Fans. I’ve found that these Gusters can be great for both combat and traversal, so don’t forget to use them if you find yourself stuck. For more, be sure to check out our Zelda: TotK guides hub for other tips and tricks.
