Electronic Arts has been the subject of so much controversy lately. Although they have been seen for years as the very definition of a faceless corporation in the video game community, coverage on them recently has either been about their mistakes or calling them out for continuing to make them.
With the resignation of their previous executive chairman due to financial losses still fresh, the temporary EA chair Larry Probst has no qualm taking in a whopping $1.03 million wage. In addition to the ridiculous amount of money he’s getting paid to fill in as Electronic Emperor, he is eligible for performance based bonuses and has a $4.7 million severance package set up.
If EA wanted to make any effort toward rebuilding their damaged reputation, Probst and other highers up in the company would take a large paycut and put the extra money into developing better games.
Instead of working on repairs, we get to watch Probst try to earn as much cash as possible as he and his colleagues continue to make hilariously poor decisions. EA has become the Jersey Shore of gaming.
