Mad Catz Unveils L.Y.N.X. 9: A Transforming Controller

Mad Catz has just unveiled their newest exotic peripheral. the L.Y.N.X. 9, also known as the transforming controller.

In the last few years, we are seeing a lot of new technologies that resemble devices found in movies and TV shows from years ago. Things that were though impossible twenty years ago, such as virtual reality, are almost within consumers' reach.

Through all of these high-tech gadgets being unveiled, I can honestly say that the Mad Catz L.Y.N.X. 9 is one of the most exotic devices that will be hitting shelves. Mad Catz's PC gaming peripherals have always had a certain "skeletal" style that can bee seen in the R.A.T. mice and S.T.R.I.K.E. keyboards. Now we are seeing it come to a gaming controller.

About the Mad Catz L.Y.N.X.

The L.Y.N.X. is a new controller that is being labeled as a "transforming controller." Why is it being given this name? Using the variety of parts included with the gamepad, along with some creative pivots and joints, this controller can adapt to take a variety of different ergonomic forms.

The controller is already available for pre-order on the Mad Catz website, but at $300 it can be hard to justify. The controller is advertised to work on Android phones and tablets, and PC. The website states that pre-orders will be shipping March 2015.

That's crazy, it looks like a Transformer too. :P

I have a Rat 5 that I'm still not super happy with. I think there's been a driver issue with it since pretty much when I first got it but I simply can't fix it, and the annoyance of my mouse constantly flicking dampens the fact that my mouse looks like a Terminator foot and thus is pretty awesome too.
