If you thought mods couldn’t get any cooler, or weirder, you certainly haven’t played the Be The Dog mod which allows you to see the Wasteland of Fallout 4 from the point of view of Dogmeat. Forget about saving your son, but instead find help for Preston Garvey’s group when they become trapped in Concord.
The Be The Dog mod isn’t limited to making you a German Shepherd, but allows you to be a feral dog found throughout Fallout 4 — or any kind of pup, in fact.
However, this mod certainly becomes very unnerving from your new point of view, since the game continues to play as if you are still in the shoes of the sole survivor — so everything around you continues to be normal while you are now Dogmeat (e.g. talking, befriending or shooting).
Although you aren’t able to handle yourself in a fight with a gun or any type of weapon, it certainly doesn’t make you an easy target. This German Shepherd has the ability to use his jaws instead. Armor isn’t a problem either, as you are able to wear only one piece of dog gear — from the heavy dog armor to the skull bandana.
But if that doesn’t catch your attention, maybe being able to recruit Dogmeat while being Dogmeat is more of your cup of tea.
