New Futurama mobile game in development

Wooga is making a new Futurama game where you finally get to try and take down Mom, but no release date has yet to be announced.

Wooga and Fox Digital Entertainment have partnered together to create a brand new Futurama mobile game.

The game, entitled Futurama: Game of Drones, will have the player join the Planet Express crew on a voyage to win a trade war with the evil MomCo. As players deliver their cargo, they are will have to solve dangerous puzzles and delve into iconic environments from the Futurama universe.

The official blurb reads:

"The game, titled Futurama: Game of Drones, takes players on a journey with the Planet Express crew as they fight a desperately imbalanced trade war against longtime shipping rival MomCo. While delivering dangerous cargo to hazardous locations under ill-advised circumstances, players connect groups of delivery drones to solve an array of fiendish puzzles as they venture into iconic environments from the Futurama universe."

There is currently no information on exactly what environments will be used or how many of the characters from the show will be present in the game (though I would hope it to be all of them). Hopefully, a follow-up announcement will be released with all the details for Futurama fans.

The official announcement does not mention a release date for the game either, but if any news of the when the Berlin-based developer will have the game out surfaces, we'll be sure to update you and let you know!

Futurama: Game of Drones will have an original storyline written by Dave Grossman (Secret of Monkey Island, The Wolf Among Us), Jonathon Myers (Game of Thrones: Ascent) and Patrice M. Verrone (one of the original writers of Futurama).
