Rockstar Offers Players $500,000 As Compensation For Issues With Grand Theft Auto Online

Rockstar has developed a plan to deposit $500,000 into the accounts of players as compensation for the problems that arose with Grand Theft Auto Online.

Rockstar has recently announced that the developer will be depositing money into the account of every player in Grand Theft Auto Online within the next couple weeks.  The announcement comes after Grand Theft Auto Online had experienced problems during its first two weeks.

The plan is that Rockstar will be releasing the $500,000 “stimulus package” as two payments of $250,000, so that players do not begin hunting down other players for their “stimulus money.”  This move makes good sense as it is almost guaranteed that some players will inevitably jump at the chance to steal another player’s money.

The announcement of the “stimulus package” was delivered with the news that deleted characters could not be restored, so the $500,000 is meant to get those players back on their feet quickly.

“For those asking about their lost characters or rank, those will not be able to be restored so we sincerely hope that this cash stimulus we’re giving out this month will help get you back on your feet and make your new life in Los Santos and Blaine extra sweet…”

There is some concern that the “cash stimulus” will unbalance the flow of the game as the purpose of the game was to slowly accumulate money on your path to greatness, and now players will have a cool half-a-million dollars to their name.  Saving up for a better Garage or Apartment had a fun, real-life feel to it, and now players could potentially buy the most expensive property in Los Santos because of the “stimulus.”

“For those asking about their lost characters or rank, those will not be able to be restored so we sincerely hope that this cash stimulus we’re giving out this month will help get you back on your feet and make your new life in Los Santos and Blaine extra sweet,” said the Rockstar official release.

However, $500,000 will not purchase some of the more expensive cars so players will still have plenty to save their money for.  The “stimulus package” should be a nice jumpstart to each player’s progress in Los Santos without giving too big of an advantage.

Overall, the “stimulus package” is an effective way to bring back players who may have lost their characters in Grand Theft Auto Online, and will hopefully aid Rockstar in keeping players involved with their game.  It is not quite as nice as having one’s character and rank restored but it is a generous, sincere apology from Rockstar.
