Where is the PS Vita Going? How Will it Stay Relevant?

The PS Vita can turn it's not-so-great future into something truly wonderful, It's all up to the people who make games for it.

The video is just purely my thoughts on the topic matter. It’s all just what I think as a former Vita owner who still supports the system and wants to see it succeed.

I know I’ve had my share of problems with the Vita. And I also notice that most of my posts have been about the Vita. But it’s not like I hate the system or anything. I’ve said time and time again that the Vita is a good system… but it has a lack of first party support.

I don’t mind the indie games on the PSN.

It’s just not really my scene, but the indie games on the PSN are a clear favorite among Vita owners around the world. It’s all about preference when it comes down to these things.

With that being said, I feel that there’s much the Vita need to do if it’s to pick up its metaphorical “game”. I fear that if there’s no worthwhile announcements that are coming in 2015 or even mid-2016, then there might be nothing left for the Vita. A solid AAA exclusive is what the Vita needs. A game that communicates the following message to non-Vita owners:

This game looks so good that I’m going to buy a Vita to play it

This is the message the next big Vita game should express. Much like Splatoon or the (recently delayed) Legend of Zelda game was for the Wii U. It needs that must-have title for people to buy the system. Right now, the Vita is doing okay but it’s balancing on a thin line between becoming the next big thing, and just barely staying relevant.

I've been playing games since I was small but only started to really observe and critique a few years back. Been writing reviews for games (albeit, old games because not everyone can have a crazy fast rig). When I'm not writing about games, I generally do some photography as well, so check that out if you've got some time.
