EVE Online: The Second Decade Collectors Edition

The CCP Presents keynote at EVE Fanfest told us of many exciting things in the EVE Universe‘s future. I am personally very proud of my involvement with The Second Decade book which is part of a special collector’s edition.

The book, created under the editorial guidance of EON Magazine editor (retired) Richie Shoemaker, is a glossy coffee-table tome containing high quality art and in-depth discussions of the many elements and events that make up the first ten years of the EVE story.

Each section of the book features articles written by industry luminaries, journalists and EVE players and I’m especially proud to have been able to play a part in selecting this dream team of erudite scribes. It has been a unique and meaningful experience to be a part of a community in which players and developers co-exist and interact in such a meaningful way and this project stands out as a snapshot of the excellence that this relationship can produce.

Also included in the special collectors edition is a scale Rifter frigate model which doubles as a USB hub, an English language re-release of Hættuspil (trans: Danger Game) which was the board game that launched CCP Games in the late nineties, a copy of EVE Online and a CD of the EVE theme music performed by a symphonic orchestra. Also included will be special multi use “mystery” code which will give owners special privileges to be announced.

The full in-game item list is as follows:

The in-game items include:

• The “Golden Pod,” an exclusive skin for the iconic capsule (EVE Online).

• A “Gnosis” Blueprint, a five-run blueprint of the 10th anniversary Gnosis, the Society of Conscious Thought battlecruiser (EVE Online).
