4 Games That the 3DS Would Be Perfect For

The 3DS is an awesome system. With its impressive graphical power (at least for a Nintendo Handheld) and awesome features, there is a variety of original IPs that could be made for it. However, many existing games could be easily ported to it, and hopefully with good results (looking at you, Snake Eater). So without further ado, here's a list of 4 games that would be perfect for Nintendo's eye-popping beast.

4. Final Fantasy VII

This may be a confusing choice. But with the 3DS'S circle pad, moving Cloud around in the world would be pretty easy. Also, FFVII's old design would be easy to optimize for the 3DS. A possible HD redux would make the environments, which blew players away on the PS1, even more amazing in 3d. VII's battle system has aged surprisingly well (I played it on pc recently and it holds up just fine) so using the d-pad and buttons for the battle menu would be a  good fit. Using the bottom screen for the items menu while not in the battle would no long require players to pause the game when you wanted to use a potion or Phoenix down. FF7 used to be a PS1 exclusive, but it got ported to the PC, so why couldn't this happen with Nintendo? Getting to introduce a classic and updating it for a new generation would be a treat for the 3ds.

3. Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty

Sure, Blizzard may have skipped out on the Wii U with Diablo III, but if Nintendo tried hard enough, I think there's a possibility that Starcraft II could get put on the 3DS. Before you cry foul of this, let me speak my mind. Players could assign hotkeys to the face buttons, or on the touchscreen.

The action could be on the top screen, but players will see their radar on the bottom screen, in addition to the commands. Using the stylus, players could touch-and-drag to select units, and tap to send them on their way, collecting resources or attacking enemy units. The circle pad would be used to move the camera. Playing multiplayer would be easy, since your friends could all be comfortably playing on 1 couch. Making Starcraft portable would be awesome indeed.

2. Marvel vs. Capcom 2

If they could make a successful fighting game on 3ds with Super Street Fighter IV, they could do it with a fighting game that is older, and easier to port. I still think Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is better than Marvel vs. Capcom 3 because of its larger cast of characters and smaller learning curve, which in turn makes it far more fun to play.

On 3DS, the circle pad would be a perfect fit for special moves, and you could assign tag-ins, tag moves, hyper combos, etc., to the touch screen, just with Street Fighter. The game would also benefit from a cheaper, $15 price point, which would improve sales and appeal. With a new Smash Bros. on the way, putting MVC2 on the 3DS would make it a handheld fit for fighting games.

1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

I don't need to explain this very much. It may not fit with Nintendo's family friendly image, but did No More Heroes? Nope. Did Madworld? Nuh-Uh. Most importantly, did Grand Theft Auto: Advance OR Chinatown Wars fit? No. While nobody remembers GTA Advance, people still know about Chinatown Wars, as it was the highest rated DS game ever.

It's simple. Put the map on the bottom screen, and put the game world on the top screen. Players can assign waypoints and label points of interest with the stylus. Playing San Andreas on the go would be huge for Nintendo, as it would boost system sales greatly.

Thanks for reading this. If you have something to say about what I just wrote, or have some suggestions of your own, please let me know in the comments.

Just thought of this one today, but Persona 3, 4, or someday 5. I think that series would be amazing with the 3DS interface. Also, any of the Tales of games. *sigh*

If Sony didn't own Atlus then that would be awesome! One of my best friends is a huge persona fan, he would dig having it on a 3ds.
