Microsoft Announces New Lineup for Games with Gold

Three new free games will be given out to Xbox Live Gold members for the month of May

A new lineup has been announced for Microsoft's Games with Gold for Xbox Live Gold members. This months game for the Xbox One is CastleStorm: Definitive Edition, while the game coming out for the 360 is Mafia II. On top of that, Microsoft will continue to offer Pool Nation FX for free until the end of May.

Mafia II, a game that was released in 2010, tells the story of the Mafia driven underworld from the 1940's to the 1950's. The game received fairly impressive reviews for its immersive gameplay and dramatic story.

CastleStorm: Definitive Edition is a relaunch of the of a game that debuted in 2013. The new version is a model that takes advantage of the current hardware of the Xbox One. The game plays as a strategic medieval tower defense, and have received fair reviews from critics.

All three of these games will be free for Xbox Live Gold members throughout the month of May, and these three rewards will be saving gamers on Xbox a total of around $50.

Having played Castlestorm... it is not exactly a great game for XB1 gamers. Mafia II is at least decent, but this pales poorly in comparison to last month's line-up.

In my opinion Castlestorm isn't the most impressive release but, Mafia is pretty fun. I would be a little disappointed, but then again, free games!

Technically free. However since you are paying for their service, you'd think Microsoft would step up their games. Especially when you compare this middling, at best, lineup to PS+ lineups. Microsoft really needs to get their stuff together.
