Animal Crossing: New Horizons Festivale Update Out in a Jiffy

The first Animal Crossing: New Horizons update adds Festivale to the holiday calendar, and more New Horizons updates are on the way.

The first Animal Crossing: New Horizons update of 2021 releases January 28, paving the way for Pavé and the ultra-stylish Festivale on February 15.

As always, since Pavé's introduction in Animal Crossing: City Folk, the dancer extraordinaire tasks players with finding and retrieving colored feathers. The reward is usually Festivale-themed furniture, and while the New Horizons Festivale trailer Nintendo posted doesn't mention furniture directly, there are some hints of what's to come.

The trailer shows an ostentation of peacock-themed furniture, bedecked with feathers, dotting the island as residents make their way to a dance platform to show off their moves. Aside from the furniture, it seems certain the New Horizons update will introduce at least one Festivale reaction.

Nintendo is still making good on its promise of regular New Horizons updates in 2021. The Festivale trailer teases another free update scheduled for sometime in March.

What that might bring is anyone's guess. We've seen shady art dealers, fireworks, deep sea diving and more so far, though there's still a distinct lack of pigeon baristas and enigmatic fortune tellers on the island Nintendo will hopefully addresses soon.

Josh Broadwell started gaming in the early '90s. But it wasn't until 2017 he started writing about them, after finishing two history degrees and deciding a career in academia just wasn't the best way forward. You'll usually find him playing RPGs, strategy games, or platformers, but he's up for almost anything that seems interesting.
