New Dying Light demo features co-op play
Dying Light, the premier parkour zombie survival game, is now available as a demo for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The free demo features a small but skippable tutorial followed by an hour of playtime.
Even in the constraints of a demo, players get the full game experience, including online co-op. Online settings can be changed in the menu to allow for public, private, friends only, or lan options. After receiving the first mission within the first minute of play, co-op will be unlocked.
This demo has been a long time coming. The full version has been available since January, but this demo opens up more options for gamers who want to see if the experience is worth the $49.99 price tag.
So far, the full price sticker has been worth it to over 5 million people. Dying Light has sold that many copies since its January 2015 release. If you find yourself enjoying online play with the few people playing the demo, chances are you’ll have loads more fun with the hordes of gamers playing the full version.

Liz_1629January 6, 2016, 11:23 amThanks. My BF has the game but on Xbox one and I have it on PS4. Thought we'd be able to play online.

No problem. Sorry to bear the bad news. A lot of times console developers like Microsoft and Sony want to encourage purchasing their version of the game, so you don't end up seeing a lot of cross-platform multiplayers as a result.

Liz_1629January 6, 2016, 2:30 amCan you play DL as co-op with one player who owns an Xbox one and the other a PS4?

Unfortunately, no. Dying Light doesn't allow cross-platform multiplayer.
