Truck full of Splatoon Special Editions stolen in extraordinary heist
If you preordered a copy of Splatoon special edition from GAME UK, check your email. In a bizarre twist of events, GAME UK has had to cancel all preorders of Splatoon special edition. According to an email sent out to those who preordered Splatoon, the truck delivering the game from Nintendo’s European warehouse to GAME UK has been made off with, with all of the copies inside. According to the company this constituted the entire stock of GAME UK’s special editions.
The company is offering a discount of £10 on the standard edition and the accompanying Inkling boy and Inkling girl amiibo to those affected by the theft. They will all be sent by first class mail.
Order cancellations or alterations must be made by midday this Friday, by calling customer services at 0208 827 0099 or emailing them at customer.services [at] game.co.uk. See the email that those who preordered the game received below:
Indeed, the fact that a group of individuals might go out of their way to steal an entire stock of Splatoon games is quite extraordinary. Perhaps they have the intent to sell them elsewhere. Or maybe someone has an unbridled obsession with Nintendo. Hopefully, this is an isolated event, though if something similar happens again in the future addressing how games are transported from Nintendo warehouses may be necessary.
Having all of a company’s stock in one place at one time may be more efficient (and possibly greener), but it may not always be the safest, especially when that stock counts for a large amount of a country’s specific game supply.
