Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is on its way

Ori and the Blind Forest is getting a definitive edition, and some of the additions sound promising.

Moon Studios' Ori and the Blind Forest will be receiving a definitive edition this holiday season. Details are at a premium, but Moon Studios has stated that new artwork, new areas and abilities, and revamped gameplay are all on the table, thanks to fan feedback.

An adventure platformer, Ori and the Blind Forest was a big critical and commercial success. The game became profitable merely a week after its release, and received stellar reviews from most major outlets.

My hope is that the definitive edition offers something truly new to the experience, otherwise I don't see much point in making a definitive edition. Especially because the base game was released less than 6 months ago, back in March.

That being said, the mention of new areas, abilities, and mechanics all sound promising, so I look forward to hearing more about what the definitive edition will entail.

Did you play Ori and the Blind Forest? If so, does the definitive edition sound enticing enough to play it a second time? Let me know in the comments.

The game uses pseudo-3D assets, sort of like Rayman: Legends. I don't see a point in making a definitive edition unless it includes something that isn't in the original. What could they possibly do other than make the 3 pixels that stand out into 1 pixel that stands out if I really bother to look for it? I just don't get it.

yeah it sounds like they are adding content, abilities and mechanics, it isn't an aesthetic upgrade from what they've said thus far.
