Gamer Beats Dragon Age: Inquisition on Nightmare Mode with No Party Members

A gamer has posted a series of YouTube videos detailing his heroic effort to beat the Dragon Age storyline in Nightmare Mode completely solo.

You don’t need companions when you’re an invisible rogue archer.

BOYvsVIDEOGAME, a YouTuber and fan of the recently released Dragon Age: Inquisition had pulled off a feat many didn’t think possible: he’s completed a solo run of the game on nightmare difficulty, the game’s hardest setting.

It’s an odd yet enrapturing thing to behold, given that Dragon Age revolves around having a party of followers. Not only are they meant to help you during fights, they also take a part in the story’s narrative. It seems BOYvsVIDEOGAME doesn’t much care for that element of the series. Instead, he’s chosen to play as a female rogue archer, and uses her agility and powers of invisibility to sneak around, snipe unsuspecting enemies, and avoid getting hit hardly at all.

He’s posted 28 videos to his channel documenting his journey from early in the game to the final battle, sans any companions (see above for his first video). The playlist totals about 6 hours of gameplay, though there’s very likely more being done off-screen considering how long Dragon Age takes to complete. And all of that sneaking can’t be helping his play time either.

Dragon Age: Inquisition debuted on November 18th, 2014. For more on Dragon Age, see GameSkinny’s recent review of the game’s multiplayer.
