Top 10 Farming Sim Games on Sale During Steam Farming Fest

Farming Fest is a week-long celebration of the various titles that make up the farm sim niche. Running from April 29 to May 6, there are tons of games on sale, demos, and highlights on upcoming titles. There’s even an event trailer, shown below.

With so many games to choose from, it can be difficult to make a selection — unless you’re like me and add ALL THE GAMES to your Steam cart and pray for your wallet at checkout. To save you from making those hard decisions, here are our top 10 farm games on sale during Farming Fest. They’re organized alphabetically with no ranking, with quick links to take you to the section that interests you most.

Fae Farm

Fae Farm is a multiplayer game with magic and farming intertwined. One of our games to check out if you like Stardew Valley, it’s listed at 33% off during the event. This is a great one if you want to have less realism and more fantasy in your farming adventures.

Farming Simulator 22

For those looking at titles that are more realistic, Farming Simulator 22 is on sale for $20.99, a 30% discount. You can drive big machinery, raise a variety of livestock, and build a customized ranch. The game featured new mechanics, and while the franchise has released newer titles, this is still a fan favorite.

Immortal Life

Immortal Life is a title that blends realism and fantasy. It’s set in China and you strive to revive the Guiyun Sect from near destruction. Farm with spells, go fishing, and explore the magical areas near your home. It’s on sale for under $15, coming in at 25% off. If you’re interested in Roots of Pacha, you can get a bundle for a whopping 37% off.

Lightyear Frontier

Lightyear Frontier released into Early Access in March, and we had a pretty good time playing through it. It has good farm mechanics, is suitable for the whole family, and has various quests. It also features a sci-fi vibe since you use a mech to assist you in your daily life, which is a theme that rarely combines with farm simulation. It’s sitting in the Steam store for 20% off during Farming Fest.

Manor Lords

A newly released title, Manor Lords offers a little bit of everything. It has city building, battle tactics, farm simulation, and other strategy elements. Thanks to this event, it’s also on sale. If you wanted to check it out earlier, now is the time to grab it at $29.99, a 25% discount.

Paleo Pines

Those looking for more dinosaurs in their games should check out Paleo Pines. Another of our 10 best games if you like Stardew Valley, it merges a creature collector with a farming sim. Tame and raise dinosaurs to help you around your farm as you explore a world filled with secrets. It has the largest price slash yet, coming in at 40% off.

Ranch Simulator

Ranch Simulator is another realistic take on farming sim games. It’s an open-world, multiplayer ranching title where you attempt to make your family’s homestead prosperous again. It has cats and dogs for pets and livestock; you can even hunt bears in the wilderness. It’s almost a wild west take on farming. It’s listed under $10 with a 60% discount.

Rusty’s Retirement

Rusty’s Retirement is also under $10, though the discount is significantly less. This title, however, is a dream for multi-taskers and those with ADHD who need stimulation while doing certain tasks. The game only takes up a small portion of your screen, allowing you to farm and care for animals while still being productive.

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley took the farming and life simulation genre by storm when it first released back in 2016. It’s so popular that it still holds the number one spot on Steam for Top Rated farming simulation games and is often in the Top 3 for other rankings. With the release of the massive 1.6 update, there are loads of new things to do, including new cutscenes and dialogue lines. It’s sitting under $10 for the event as it’s listed at 34% off the regular price.

Sun Haven

To round out the list, we have Sun Haven. Ranking in the top five Top Sellers on Steam, the multiplayer title has plenty to offer, including dragons. You can play as a different race, have a farm in three different cities, and decorate your home with various items. There are multiple skills to learn that make each playthrough unique. It’s also 30% off right now.

Honorable Mention — Echoes of the Plum Grove

Released on April 29, the first day of Steam Farming Fest, is Echoes of the Plum Grove. The title combines a farming sim with decision-based consequences. The social aspect of the game is one of the main focuses, along with the farming. You can befriend all the people of Honeywood or be mean and vindictive. Each choice alters how the story progresses. It’s currently on sale for 10% off, even though it just launched.

Those are the 10 best deals to grab during the Steam Farming Fest event, as well as one honorable mention for the recently launched Echoes of the Plum Grove. For more on these titles, like quest guides or resource locations, check out their game pages below.
