What was the Hour of Joy in Poppy Playtime?

The Hour of Joy is a crucial event in Poppy Playtime's story, but what was it?

Multiple important events happened at Playtime Co. that led to its closure. However, we don’t get a lot of information about what happened until Chapter 3. And even then, we don’t get the full story. But we finally received an answer for one question: what was the Hour of Joy in Poppy Playtime?

From the first chapter, we know that the toys revolt against the Playtime Co. workers. One VHS tape contains the sound of screaming in the background while a researcher speaks about the revolt as chaos happens around them. With the release of Chapter 3, we know that the toys still living in the factory call this the Hour of Joy.

The Hour of Joy was when the toys worked together and started killing every human in Playtime Co. simultaneously. They overwhelmed any countermeasures that could’ve been taken if only one or two toys rebelled. At the head of the revolt was the Prototype, who planned the event and convinced the toys to work with it to carry out the mass act of violence it resulted in. And the Hour of Joy was what ended operations at that Playtime Co. factory.

The Hour of Joy Lasted Longer than an Hour

According to Poppy, the Hour of Joy felt like it lasted forever. Given how much happened during this event, I estimate it occurred over multiple hours up to an entire day. Especially since dragging the bodies to the bottom of the factory alone takes up a chunk of time, and Poppy includes this detail as being the final part of the Hour of Joy.

But that covers what the Hour of Joy was in Poppy Playtime, the toy revolt led by the Prototype to kill as many humans as possible in the factory. While this question has an answer, there are still plenty of mysteries surrounding Playtime Co. and the toys within.
