Reverse Dropper

Created by: JojoGlick
Version: 1.9

Most dropper maps on this list have focused on single drops or avoiding obstacles to safely reach the end. In JojoGlick's Reverse Dropper, however, reaching the end is just the beginning.

Across several levels, which include some parkour, players enter a game of Pong, using (sometimes limited) levitation effects to arrive at the level's midpoint before descending to the final zone. Be sure to step on the green checkpoint before proceeding.

Once you've had a chance to check out these dropper maps in Minecraft, let us know in the comments below which one is your favorite. Do you have a best dropper map that didn't make our list?

The Dropper 2: Newton VS Darwin

Created by: Bigre
Version: 1.12.2

If Bigre's The Dropper 2: Newton VS Darwin was ranked on a scale from 1 to 10, it would be an 11. A sheer work of art in both scope and detail, this map is indeed at the top of the best dropper maps in Minecraft. Across 15 levels, players must forge through locales inspired by Lord of the Rings, Beetlejuice, Dracula, The Matrix, and more to collect enough diamonds to unlock the bonus level.

Progress is based on prior level completion, and this map not only implements atypical dropper conventions, but sets the standard for what droppers should be. Players must come equipped with skill and luck if they are to survive all 16 levels.

Well met, Newton and Darwin.

Raybe's Dropper

Created by: Raybe_mcpe
Version: 0.12.1

Raybe's Dropper is one of the older dropper maps, and it shows: players can skip levels, and there's no progress-based respawn point; however, it no less ranks as one of the best dropper maps in Minecraft

In five distinct realms, players must plunge, perhaps not always intuitively, to a safe landing point far below the launch platform. (Traveling through water or lava blocks mid-flight may catch some off guard.) While the map isn't as extensive as its dropper counterparts, it provides a unique challenge and a strong introduction to the map style.

Dropper IB 5

Created by: itzBojan
Version: 1.2.8

In an age of alternative facts, Dropper IB 5 -- the fifth installment of the IB series -- demands nothing less than pure accuracy. Dive through 23 stunning courses across four stages: 3D Droppers, Normal Droppers, Hard Droppers, and Extreme Droppers. Beware: most landing zones are a mere block of water. While the map overall rivals some of the best dropper maps in Minecraft, the levels are not restricted to prior course completion.

Created by: Effect99
Version: 1.2.8

"[Effect99] Run!!" is perhaps the last thing you'll read before succumbing to an onslaught of cascading lava blocks in this escape mini-game. As one of the best dropper maps of Minecraft PE 1.2.8, MagmaRun's gauntlet is indeed challenging -- even on its easiest setting.

From the game lobby, choose your difficulty as well as your light mode (day or night), and begin the challenge with a generous, albeit necessary, ten-second head start. Make your way through four tiers, each indicated by a color with its own set of buffs (or debuffs), to reach the bottom.

If you're able, play with friends to pick up materials not found in solo mode; however, if you brave the challenge alone, consider using the forward and back keys to quickly fall to lower levels. If you hear the creepers take damage, it's a good indication that you may not make it.

Reverse Dropper

Created by: Evil Warriors
Version: 1.0.5

Take to the skies with Minecraft's levitation effect as you float through eight unique levels in this reverse dropper map. Be sure to save any progress using the buttons provided, because not only do these settings pose a challenge, but there's no going back once you step on the pressure plate.

A good strategy is to simply look up and note any possible openings before proceeding. If you hit a single block that delays your movement, you'll more than likely have to reset.

The Dropper

Created by: Bigre
Version: 1.0.5

Widely considered one of the best dropper maps (and most popular), The Dropper simulates skydiving Minecraft style. Leap from great heights across 10 levels as you plunge toward a small landing zone -- or death -- in beautifully crafted settings. Beware: some landing zones can be mistaken for a lookalike, or may be invisible from the starting point altogether. Be sure to click the button to save your spawn location.

Note: You can press the button adjacent to each jump location to temporarily open a block, or press the lever to reveal the map in its entirety.

The X Dropper Map

Created by: LineOfCode
Version: 1.1.3

If you combined Gauntlet Dark Legacy with Minecraft, you'd arrive at The X Dropper Map. Chart across 16 realm-inspired arenas, ranging from Very Easy to Very Hard, and reach the shallow pools (or blocks with bouncing properties) to proceed to the next level. The catch: acquire the blaze rod hidden in each level.

Before starting out on your spelunking adventure, check out the setting requirements placed on the lobby wall. If you're going to enjoy some of the best dropper maps Minecraft has to offer, you'll want to do it right.

The Cube Escape

Created by: MT714
Version: 1.2.6

As one of the strongest examples of Minecraft mechanics at play, all confined to the space of a cube, The Cube Escape is indeed a challenging map to solve. Test your wits across nine levels involving parkour, mazes, puzzles, and reverse droppers, all in the hopes of escape.

If you ever find yourself stuck, it is very possible to break through the glass interior (or enter creative mode). Just know that it does count as a rule violation.

Super Mega Dropper: New Halloween

Created by: MegaStriker, alienszi
Version: 1.2.5

With a game lobby reminiscent of Wreck-It Ralph’s Game Central Station, Super Mega Dropper offers some of the best dropper maps in all of Minecraft. Choose from over 40 beautifully designed maps across four categories (easy, hard, old, and remastered), where players can collect trophies (yes, there’s a trophy room!), save progress, and forge through five levels of a Halloween-inspired dungeon.

Note: Some maps take some time to load properly, but this world is worth spending some time in. Ever wanted to feel the effects of a Wonka Fizzy Lifting Drink? The reverse dropper maps won’t disappoint.

When we play video games, we often glean information that applies to our everyday lives. What do dropper maps reveal? The precision Lando Calrissian had when flying the Millennium Falcon through the Death Star II, or what Jack Sparrow meant when he uttered: "You know the feeling you get when standing in a high place, the sudden urge to jump?"

Indeed, dropper maps require nothing short of skill, luck, and a strong desire to leap to your death. In this list, we explore some of the best dropper maps from all versions of Minecraft PE, even version 1.2.8.

Map: Super Lava Run

By RylandPlayzYT

Running and jumping across obstacles is fun, but Super Lava Run turns up the heat -- literally -- with flowing lava. Complete the jumps and you'll be safe. But fail or take too long, and lava will begin pouring from the ceiling, dooming you to a warm lava bath of death. This Minecraft PE map consists of a single level, but multiple sub-levels and some creative command block usage provide for plenty of gameplay and fun.

Can you feel your adrenaline rushing in anticipation? Hop into any of these awesome Minecraft PE parkour maps for a fun platforming challenge and a different spin on the classic crafting game!

Map: Slime Bloxs

by DerpMaster11

Bounce your way across in this slimy take on Minecraft parkour in Slime Bloxs. The map contains 10 levels which rely on slime blocks launching you through to safety. If you fail, a (very long) ladder is provided for you to climb back up and try again. The map was recently updated for v1.2 support and now also contains a tutorial and an additional level.

Map: Flood Escape

by McMCPE1234

In Flood Escape, you're trapped inside the "Factory" with only one option to escape the rising water levels: go up. As you climb higher in this Minecraft PE parkour map, so will the water, and taking too long on any challenge sends you to your watery tomb. Three floors of parkour and several puzzles are made more exciting by the time pressure. You'd better be quick to complete this best Minecraft parkour map challenge!

Map: SG The Grid

By SkyGames

Just how much Minecraft parkour do you need in your life? How about 100 levels worth of it? "The Grid" is a map composed of, well, a grid of 100 squares. Each square houses a unique parkour level with its own theme and style, with varying levels of challenge. As a bonus, enable the Chicky's Eggs challenge in the map lobby and locate each of the 100 eggs for a special prize.

Map: Defeat the Concrete

By SpankyMC

Play through 16 maddening levels in Defeat the Concrete. Although each level of this Minecraft PE parkour map is fairly small, this "rage-inducing" map will keep you trying -- and failing -- for a while. Each level consists of a different theme and presents a different challenge to overcome.

Rest assured, though, every jump on this map is possible … some might just drive you a bit crazy trying. And remember: if you come across a jump of a four-block distance -- look down.

Map: Parkour Spiral

By Hielke

Parkour addicts can get their fix from Parkour Spiral, an extremely large Minecraft PE map that extends in a spiral high into the sky. As you make your way up the spiral, you'll encounter various biomes and terrains, challenges like insta-kill water, and, of course, plenty of jumps and platforming aspects.

All in all, this parkour map is a lengthy (some players report it took them over an hour to complete!) and challenging one -- but don't worry, a healthy dose of checkpoints along the way will help you progress.

Map: Castellia

By TelepathicGrunt

Although all you really need for a good Minecraft PE parkour map is some well-placed blocks, Castellia goes all out to create one incredible experience. Castellia is a visually stunning parkour map and feels like an entire platforming game of its own. In addition to well-designed parkour elements, this medieval castle-themed map also challenges you to battle monsters, solve fiendish puzzles, and locate hidden secrets.

Two versions of this Minecraft PE map are available -- one for single player, the other for 2-4 players -- and you can find guides for both from the map's creator here (multiplayer) and here (single player). It's certainly one of the best parkour maps for Minecraft PE -- and the most beautiful.

Do you love the mining and crafting aspect of Minecraft but wish it came with more ... parkour? These mods have got you covered. Run, jump, and vault your way across custom-created obstacles for your amusement as you give Steve a workout in the best parkour maps for Minecraft PE version 1.2.8!

Keep in mind that parkour maps are a type of mod: To play a parkour map in Minecraft PE, you'll need to move it into the correct folder. For more information on how to install Minecraft PE maps (parkour or otherwise), check out the guides for iOS or Android.

Now you're all set to start your crazy jumping adventure! Here are seven of the craziest, best parkour maps for Minecraft PE!

Everything You Need to Know About Minecraft's Better Together and Graphical Updates https://www.gameskinny.com/bm8ii/everything-you-need-to-know-about-minecrafts-better-together-and-graphical-updates https://www.gameskinny.com/bm8ii/everything-you-need-to-know-about-minecrafts-better-together-and-graphical-updates Fri, 25 Aug 2017 11:50:50 -0400 ThatGamersAsylum

Everyone knows Minecraft. It's the biggest phenomenon we've seen in many years, even beating out the likes of Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. Unlike most games, Minecraft has pierced through the gaming world and into pop culture at large. This is all thanks largely to its mass appeal to people of all ages.

In the last several years, Minecraft has spread from PC to consoles and mobile device, spawning a number of different editions for nearly every device out there. But this hit builder is about to see some big changes soon, as Microsoft/Mojang is making some moves to consolidate all these versions of Minecraft and make various other updates that will bring it into the current generation of gaming.

In a timeframe that has only been described as “Autumn”, Microsoft will be releasing an update they are calling Better Together, a couple of different graphics enhancements, and a new Xbox One S console bundle for good measure. Here's everything you need to know about these big changes and how they might affect your Minecraft game.

Minecraft Better Together Update

The Better Together update is going to be changing a lot -- including whether or not your version of the game will continue to be supported. It's intended to unite most of the versions of Minecraft across various platforms into one common experience going forward.

This means that people who are playing Minecraft on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile devices (iOS/Android), and the Windows 10 version of the game will be able to play together and get dev updates at the same time.

For years now, Minecraft has had various versions out in the wild. But unifying the player experience means that everyone will need to have the same version of the game, so to speak. This means that people playing on some platforms may have more growing pains than others.

It is also important to note that old versions of the game -- like those on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U -- will still work, but they will not be receiving updates going forward.

What does this update mean for your specific version? Here's the rundown on what's changing for each platform.

Minecraft: Pocket Edition is available on the App Store and Google Play for $6.99. If you already own the game on mobile, all you'll have to do for the Better Together update is download it and continue to play like normal. You should see very few changes to your play experience.

Xbox One and Nintendo Switch

Digital Editions

If you own a digital copy of the game, then you're in the clear when the Better Together update launches. You will be given a free download of the new version of the game -- all you have to do is download it. This is presumed to be through a voucher code, that's not 100% clear. We'll update this article when definite information has been released.

If you don't own the game but you want to check it out now with all the new updates coming, you can download Minecraft on Xbox One for $19.99 and Nintendo Switch for $29.99.

Physical Editions

Fans who have a physical copy of Minecraft will be disappointed to learn that they'll might have to purchase the title again to continue receiving developer support after the Better Together update.

How it works is a little bit complex. If you've played the game for at least 5 hours within the last year, then you'll be given free access to the updated game when it releases -- and you'll get it on the console of your choice. (And yes, you can go play for 5 hours right now and it will still count.)

This access is only available for a limited time, but the actual window of opportunity for players hasn't been disclosed.

There will technically be two different versions of Minecraft on PC. The Windows 10 version will receive the Better Together update. But the original version of the game, which will now be called Minecraft: Java Edition (because its programming language is Java), will not be getting the update.

Both versions are currently available for $26.99.

As of the writing of this article, the PS4 is not going to be receiving the Better Together Update since Sony has not yet agreed to allow it on their platform. But hope is not lost, as Sony and Microsoft are currently in negotiations.

The bad news, however, is that the old version of Minecraft will no longer be purchasable after the update has been released -- meaning that the PS4 might not allow you to purchase any version of Minecraft unless a settlement is reached.

You can buy the digital version of Minecraft: PS4 Edition now for $19.99.

If you have any other questions that were unanswered by all of this, then you can also check out the official FAQ

Minecraft Better Graphics Update

Minecraft's graphics will also be seeing an improvement during the same vague time frame of “Autumn”. Basically, all the platforms that receive the Better Together Upgrade will also be receiving this graphical update to enhance the look of the game and make it compatible with higher-resolution devices. The update in question is promised to include:\

  • 4K HDR Graphics
  • Improved lighting
  • Enhanced shadows
  • Realistic water effects
Super Duper Graphics Pack

In addition to this graphical overhaul, current-gen console and Win10 users will also have access to a free DLC called the Super Duper Graphics pack. This pack will add:

"Dynamic shadows, lighting that streams through fog, movement in leaves and grass, new textures for mobs and villagers, directional lighting, edge highlighting and more!"

This DLC will be available on the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of the game. It is said to perform best on the Xbox One X and high-end PCs. There is no news as to whether this will come to the Switch.

Note: Microsoft has confirmed that players will not be forced to upgrade their graphics. If you like the old graphics, then you are more than welcome to keep them.

Xbox One S Bundle

Lastly, there is a new Minecraft Xbox One S Console bundle that was just announced alongside these multiple updates. Set to release on October 3, 2017, this 1TB Xbox One S will set you back $400.

It will include:

  1. Xbox One S Limited Edition 1TB Console
  2. Limited Edition Creeper Xbox Wireless Controller
  3. Minecraft digital code
  4. Minecraft Redstone Pack bonus content digital code
  5. Xbox One S Vertical Stand
  6. 1-month Xbox Game Pass trial
  7. 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial

If you are interested in this bundle, then you can pre-order it from Microsoft's website.

So there you have it folks! All the biggest, most important details you need to know about the upcoming changes to Minecraft. I hope this helped you out! If you need any more help don't forget about the FAQ that should be able to answer some of your more specific questions. Seed: 3322636929

Directions: Walk straight until the second village, then turn left

This seed has two villages -- one of which is very close to your spawn -- and a Woodland Mansion near the second village. From your spawn point, walk straight past the first village. Once you reach the second village, turn left. Cross a small lake, and the Woodland Mansion is on the other side, ready to be explored. Remember to take what you need from the two villages to prepare yourself for the mansion’s mobs!

Like the previous seed, this seed will also require you to be in the beta for Minecraft PE version or later. So make sure you're involved in that before you try out this one!

There you have it: the five best Woodland Mansion seeds for Minecraft Pocket Edition. Have a better seed than the ones we have here? Let us know in the comments! And be sure to check out our Woodland Mansion seeds for Minecraft on PC if you want more multi-story manors to explore.

[Images courtesy of wikia.com, minecraft.net, mcpehq.com, and mcpedl.com]

Seed: -396676922

Directions: Look left from your spawn

This seed spawns a Woodland Mansion so close to your spawn that you only need to look slightly to your left to find it behind some trees. This seed is awesome not only because the mansion is incredibly close, but also because it's cut right into a mountain -- giving you a great place to start a mine and farm the materials you need to take on the evil villagers inside the mansion.

Note that this seed requires Minecraft PE or later. You need to sign up for the beta to get these releases. Android users can do this via Google Play.

Seed: 2072006993

Directions: Keep the mountain to your left and follow the river

This seed spawns a Woodland Mansion pretty far away, but the Mansion has a slightly larger third floor (and thus more interesting rooms). To reach it, all you need to do is turn around once you spawn, and start walking -- keeping the mountain to your left. Once you pass the mountain, just follow the river until you come to a land bridge between two rivers. From there, just head straight until you hit a swamp. The Woodland Mansion will be at the edge of that swamp on the left side.

This seed is actually good despite how far away the mansion is, because you can spend some time exploring before you get to the mansion and preparing to fight the mobs inside.

Seed: KKFF

Directions: Go southeast, past a village

This seed hides a Woodland Mansion about 700 blocks away from spawn. Head southeast from your spawn point (across a lake), until you find a village. Head a little further in the same direction, and you’ll see the Woodland Mansion across a small river.

This seed is great because you can use the village as a base to explore the nearby mansion. But it takes a bit to reach the village in the first place, and you might need more than what’s in the village to take on the mobs inside the mansion.

Seed: 2047026645

Directions: Head northeast (as noted in the picture)

This seed spawns a Woodland Mansion about 1,000 blocks away, at -776, 600. It's pretty far away, and you'll have to cross some mountains and a swamp to get there. But that just means you'll have more time to prepare for the fight you'll get into once you reach the Woodland Mansion.

In the latest Minecraft Pocket Edition update, Mojang introduced Woodland Mansions -- sprawling structures that randomly spawn in roofed forest biomes.  Woodland Mansions have tons of rooms with the possibility of chests, monster spawners, and even blocks of diamond!

But be careful, because Evoker and Vindicator mobs will spawn in Woodland Mansions, ready to defend their home. So if you want to battle evil villagers for the chance at some good loot – or a giant house all to yourself – here are some of the best Woodland Mansion seeds you'll find in Minecraft PE!

Discovery 1.1, Minecraft's first big update of the year, launched today on Windows 10 and Pocket versions of Minecraft. The new Discovery 1.1 update will be packed with new features, including a brand new “Minecraft Marketplace”.

The Minecraft Marketplace allows players to access a catalogue of community created content more safely and easily and allows creators to potentially make some hard earned money from their own creations by showcasing them on the marketplace.

Today's launch will also include six new worlds to explore, two new survival spawns, two texture packs, and four skin packs--as well as a number of new features, tweaks, and some minor bug fixes.

These new features and tweaks include a third new mode, "Adventure Mode" for people who like to create custom game modes and scenarios. Additionally, players will encounter Llamas in the wild, have new types of blocks to craft in the form of "Glazed Terracotta" and "Concrete Blocks", and a bunch of new localization options for plenty of new languages.

You can view the 1.1 update change log here, to view all the new features and changes.

3 Minecraft PE End Portal Village Spawn Seeds https://www.gameskinny.com/olc4e/3-minecraft-pe-end-portal-village-spawn-seeds https://www.gameskinny.com/olc4e/3-minecraft-pe-end-portal-village-spawn-seeds Fri, 21 Apr 2017 06:34:53 -0400 MCPEHQ

Stronghold and end portal seeds got far more popular once Minecraft finally brought The End to the mobile version of the hit sandbox game. The best kind of end portal seeds are seeds that have them at the games spawn point. Here's our three favorite village seeds with strongholds and end portals beneath their well's.

#1 - Triple Village Spawn with Stronghold and Portal Room

Minecraft PE Seed: BLUEBLOB

Triple Village End Portal Spawn for MCPE

End Portal in Spawn Stronghold

Now this seed is impressive. Once world render has done it's job and the spawn chunks are visible, you're in for a treat. At spawn there is a triple village to explore. The stronghold and end portal are beneath the village well -- that is closest to the spawn point. Just head to the well and dig down right beside it.

For a different way in, check out the surface cave entrance right by that same village. Inside you'll find tell-tale mossy cobble blocks. Simply break through and you're in! An awesome end portal seed for Minecraft Pocket Edition (MCPE).

#2 - Blacksmith Diamonds Above, End Portal Below

Minecraft PE Seed: prospros

Village with End Portal Below

Pocket Edition Stronghold at Spawn. Seed:prospro

At the spawn point of this Pocket Edition end portal seed you'll find a blacksmith village alongside a river which you are directly across from. The blacksmith has a couple of diamonds and some iron armor to grab.

The main attraction? The end portal beneath the village. Go to the village well and dig beneath it. You will plop right into the stronghold. With a bit of exploring you'll be on your way to the end.

#3 - Spawn in a Village. Take the Well to the End Portal.

Minecraft PE Seed: EAT A WRAP

End Portal Village Spawn for Minecraft PE

The End Portal

The first two seeds spawned you near a village. This end portal seed is even more convenient. You spawn in the village. Head on over to the well and once again dig down.

This stronghold isn't quite as large as the others, so that should make locating the end portal much easier!

Mark My Words: The Minecraft Marketplace Will Normalize Paid Mods https://www.gameskinny.com/xpwi0/mark-my-words-the-minecraft-marketplace-will-normalize-paid-mods https://www.gameskinny.com/xpwi0/mark-my-words-the-minecraft-marketplace-will-normalize-paid-mods Fri, 21 Apr 2017 12:00:02 -0400 Paige McGovern

Remember when Steam removed the payment option for Skyrim mod creators? After a week, after much outrage and protest, Valve revoked their decision to pay content creators. Now Minecraft mod creators are getting their chance to be paid for their work.

Just before the start of April, Microsoft announced the 1.1 Discovery Update for Minecraft will launch with the Minecraft Marketplace.

In case you haven't heard, the Discovery update will also add llamas, two new blocks -- glazed terracotta and concrete -- and a cartographer’s treasure map to explore and possibly find a dangerous forest mansion. The new marketplace will introduce new creative community creations (mods) purchasable with Minecraft coins. It will be available for Windows 10 and the Pocket Edition.

Minecraft coins will be stored in the player’s wallet after being bought for real-life money. This virtual currency will allow creators from all over the world to set a single price for their work. These creators can also be flexible with their prices. Any type of community content can be published, ranging from avatar skins to new worlds.

However, content creators don’t rake in all the profit. There’s a 30% cut first. Afterwards, creators get "the majority."

Sure, these creators will be making more than they did while they were producing and releasing totally free content. But they won’t be making as much as they could be if they were receiving the full 100%. Microsoft will be earning 30% of these sales, despite only hosting their own platform for a community that has existed forever.

Mod creators are going to jump at the opportunity to gain real-life money and recognition for work they have already been doing. The question is, what about the community using their mods? Will they prefer the free content? Or will they be won over by the ease of mods purchasable in-game that are not only available on a single device, but also transferable to multiple platforms? (The store will release on Windows 10, Android, iOS, Apple TV, Gear VR, Oculus and Amazon Kindle.)

Only time will tell. But if mod creators rush to partner with Microsoft, then their users are going to have to follow if they want their latest updates and creations.

Microsoft already has creators on board for the new marketplace, of course. They have partnered with nine businesses so far: Noxcrew, BlockWorks, Qwertyuiop The Pie, Blockception, Sphax, Eneija, Imagiverse, Polymaps, and Razzleberry Fox. Their creations will sell for any price between $1 and $10. And this is still all before release. Let's not forget that the game itself is $7 to $27, depending on platform.

There is an application form for businesses to fill out if they wish to sell their community content in the marketplace. And they will. It is only a matter of time.

With Microsoft releasing paid mod content, no one can help but think about Valve. The relationship between Valve and the mod community has been rocky. After paying Skyrim mod creators failed, a year later DOTA 2 received Custom Game Passes. These passes, which last a month, can be purchased by players who wish to support content creators.

In February of this year, Valve CEO Gabe Newell stated that he still believes modders deserve to be paid for their hard work, although there are no current plans for the company to introduce paid mods in a game again. Despite this, if Microsoft's Minecraft Marketplace is received well, Valve will be tempted to implement paid mods once more. This time, their plans might stick.

Stay tuned to GameSkinny to hear more about the Minecraft marketplace when the planned Android beta launches in the near future. Unfortunately, there are no set release dates for either the Android beta or the full launch of the marketplace.

What do you think about the Minecraft Marketplace? How do you think both creators and consumers will be affected? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Minecraft Adds New "Minecraft Marketplace" https://www.gameskinny.com/e057u/minecraft-adds-new-minecraft-marketplace https://www.gameskinny.com/e057u/minecraft-adds-new-minecraft-marketplace Mon, 10 Apr 2017 13:46:39 -0400 Nick Lee

The 1.1 Discovery update to Minecraft will allow players to create, download, and interact with one another's creations for the very first time. Available across Windows 10 and mobile, the update allows users to more efficiently purchase user-generated content using Minecraft Coins via in-app purchases. For now, Minecraft Coins will act as in-game money for downloads only, while the app store will take 30% of each download, leaving the rest of the profit for community creators.

New Minecraft Commerce

The public beta for the update is set to launch in mid-April to test Minecraft Coins, but it won't unveil creator content just yet (more on that below). The staff at minecraft.net explained in a press release how content creators will profit off of this new feature:

It's super important to us that this is the biggest chunk of the profit: when a cool skin or map gets purchased, the app store platforms take a 30% cut, but creators get the majority after that.

Restrictions and Future Content

Before content creators are able to get their content in the marketplace, Mojang has partnered with larger crafters such as Noxcrew, Polymaps, and Sphax to set initial content-for-sale examples. In order for players to actually sell items in this new market, they must be a part of the Minecraft Partner Program, which makes them an officially registered business.

Then, the user-created content players purchase will be available across all platforms via Xbox Live accounts, so there won't be any accidental re-buying of the same item or piece of content. To answer questions about the update and all things featured therein, Mojang will host a Reddit AMA on April 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST.

4 Above and Beyond Android Co-op Games. https://www.gameskinny.com/hkhvk/4-above-and-beyond-android-co-op-games https://www.gameskinny.com/hkhvk/4-above-and-beyond-android-co-op-games Mon, 20 Feb 2017 12:00:02 -0500 Will Dowell

Social games are prevalent in the mobile market. May it be playing Words with Friends or encouraging others to play Candy Crush, mobile games tend to have a large social element. This has lead to social media gaming transferring to the mobile sphere with the likes of Zynga actively pursuing this market.

But what about traditional co-op? While somewhat uncommon in the console and PC gaming spheres, it is especially uncommon in mobile gaming. Luckily, there are 4 incredible Android co-op games just hanging around for your enjoyment.

Dungeon Hunter 4

While not one the most original Diablo clones out there, Dungeon Hunter 4 still provides an engaging multiplayer loot-fest. Take part in loot filled arenas designed to test the skills of all party members. Use different classes to further your team's success. It is likely one of the most popular co-op experiences on mobile today.

Sadly, the co-op experience is less substantial than previous entries, and also suffers from having the monetization get in the way of the actual gameplay. It reinforces the stereotype that all mobile games are just an avenue for micro transactions. Yet even with these massive blemishes, the co-op experience is still worth your time.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

While not your typical co-op game, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes combines asymmetrical co-op with VR to create an exciting game. One player is trapped with a ticking bomb while the other players must instruct the player how to defuse it. With only one player able to see and interact with the bomb, communication is key to success. Enjoy a unique challenge by creating multiple roles requiring different tasks.

The major barrier to entry is the VR requirement. This limits the player to those who have the VR technology to play. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is also a higher price than most mobile games, which could turn away users looking for a free co-op experience. Even with these barriers to entry, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is an incredible game for anyone with VR technology.

Minecraft Pocket Edition

Minecraft is one of the best co-op experiences ever, and Pocket Edition is no exception. While not as robust as the PC version, Minecraft Pocket Edition allows you to create on the go, and have a blast with both local and online multiplayer servers. Players can have a blast with the fun multiplayer that has made Minecraft the juggernaut that it is.

Again, it is not as complex as the PC release and does not have the extensive mod support that makes Minecraft so interesting. That doesn't matter, as the game itself is so polished, that any fan of online co-op should at least give Minecraft Pocket Edition a shot.

For fans of simulations, TeamThunder provides a mobile attack helicopter simulator that substantially improves with a partner. Become either the pilot or the gunner, and work with your partner to complete a series of challenging missions. The controls themselves are highly customizable, even having tilt controls if you choose to want them. The overall challenge of TeamThunder actively encourages cooperation.

Mobile games can provide new experiences and change how co-op games can be played. With the mobility and unique interfaces Android devices contain, games can create interesting experiences unavailable on other platforms. As more developers consider Android as a serious mobile platform, co-op games will move forward as a genre.

What co-op games do you like on Android? Let us know in the comments!

Top 10 Halloween and Autumn Minecraft Seeds https://www.gameskinny.com/71cxe/top-10-halloween-and-autumn-minecraft-seeds https://www.gameskinny.com/71cxe/top-10-halloween-and-autumn-minecraft-seeds Sat, 29 Oct 2016 12:24:17 -0400 Angelo De Bellis

It's starting to get a little chilly out and the moon is popping up just that much earlier—autumn has certainly arrived. And of course, with autumn comes Halloween, and with Halloween comes a bunch of warm drinks and some good hours of gaming.

What better way to enjoy the thrills and spooks of the sugary holiday than with a fun list of my top 10 Minecraft seeds? Each seed leads to an area in Minecraft that is scary, dark, or somehow related to Halloween and the autumn season. Enjoy!

1. Spawn near a congregation of witch huts

Source: Minecraft XL

Seed: 318041875063143073

What’s Halloween without some pointy headed witches? This seed will lead you to an area full of witch huts, so you can get your fill of the hostile forms as you continue your travels. Just make sure you carry a Milk Bucket to protect you when you go trick-or-treating—you never know what kind of spells they’ll cast on you.

2. Spawn near a village and a cornucopia of pumpkins

Source: Minecraft Seeds

Seed: Kingly

Hey pumpkin face, take it easy with the pumpkin spice lattes. This seed clearly knows Halloween is ready to up the ante—rounded pumpkins aren't talked about much on Reddit. No, cube-shaped fruit is much tastier, harder to smash on the streets, and easily stackable. Head here if you want to join in on the progressive festivities!

3. Spawn near a Woodland Mansion

Source: JerenVids

Seed: -4589128118707775879

It seems that the bigger the mansion, the more vacant, and the more vacant, the more foreboding. Halloween films typically feature these creepy structures, so I thought it was imperative that I add such a location to my list. I didn’t post a picture of the interior because I want you to have fun exploring the large space for yourself.

Half of the excitement from seeking thrills comes from an adventure led by you. Even if there doesn’t end up being anything creepy on the inside, use your imagination; the location of the mansion walled in by all the trees is certainly disturbing enough for me.

4. Spawn near an abandoned mine shaft

Source: Minecraft Seeds

Seed: -810391368445847414

From empty houses to abandoned mines, it seems that the most mysterious of places are the ones that make us question their past. This seed will lead you to an unassuming area between plains and a forest, but it you do a little searching, you’ll find a cave entrance that leads to a mine.

A mine scary? I know, it’s not exactly what one would think of when it comes to your typical Halloween setting, but the “abandoned” distinction makes all the difference. Imagine a mine that has been out of service for years, but the stubborn carts persist to carry on with their business. If you ask me, that’s pretty creepy.

I wonder if the carts are carrying any candy? My favorites are chewable caramel cubes, skittles, Rockets, and Coffee Crisp. Hard to imagine the expiry date on that candy.

5. Spawn near a small, secluded island

Source: Epic Minecraft Seeds

Seed: -8290517664781417306

The thought of a living on a private island can be quite alluring. There are no people to deal with, no Facebook messages to answer, no assignments to finish, and not a single mother nagging you to mow the lawn.

It all sounds rather peaceful until you realize that you are all alone, forever. Like the mansion and the decrepit mine shaft, the isolated island ranks high in the scare factor because you never know what odd find is lurking around the corner.

I’ve been told there are ocean monuments on the island--the thought of dungeonous halls alone sound rather freaky to me. Who knows what kind of dance moves are going on down there when you're sleeping at night . . . in your single bed . . . in your quiet house . . . on your segregated island.

6. Spawn near a snow-decorated forest

Source: Goplay

Seed: 1408803813

After all the turkey, gifts, get-togethers, and candy from Halloween, comes the bitter cold of winter. With the cold aftermath comes the snow, and that is certainly scary. Say what you want about it being gentle and decorative, but when I see snow, I think of all the shoveling, slipping, and wet feet that come with it.

Just the fact that the snowy weather follows Halloween, is enough to scare the giblets out of me. But if you’re one of those who likes the electromagnetic brilliance of the white stuff, or you enjoy the rush of fear that comes with the wait for impending slush, this is the seed for you. You’ll find forests full of snow, and more than enough sky sprinkles to litter the pixels on your screen.

7. Spawn situated near a village

Source: Minecraft Seeds Wiki

Seed: 2354472788974084399

The interesting thing about this seed is that it spawns you in a location between three different landscapes: a desert, grasslands, and a savanna. The village nearby is said to make you a bit uneasy, probably because of how it is situated between so much contrasting geology.

The intersection of three landscapes makes for a Frankenstein-like playground, a dissociation of identities. And that lack of coherence delivers a heavy amount of queasiness to my stomach.

What’s worse, or better depending on your sadistic orientation, is that you will find a deep forest nearby. And if there’s anything that we’ve learned about sheltered locations, it’s that they are awfully eerie.

8. Spawn located just above a dungeon

Source: Epic Minecraft PE Seeds

Seed: meh

The makings of a well-brewed Halloween: Spiders, cobwebs, and dungeons. It doesn’t get more Halloween than this.

When you use this seed, you will find yourself near a desert village. Though it’s unassuming, and certainly bears no indication of what lurks below, if you dig straight down, you’ll be treated with a hellish find. But first you have to travel through another dreaded mineshaft before you can sneak around the dark dungeon pictured above.

9. Spawn near an oceanside hill

Source: Epic Minecraft PE Seeds

Seed: 86mph

When it comes to Halloween movies and other thrills, zombies are overdone. That’s why this Minecraft seed is perfect—you’ll find yourself near a zombie mob spawner. Now you can enjoy an infinite supply of zombies!

Like the previous seed, you’ll first have to do some digging from the spawn point to find the vacuous brainivores. When you do, let us know if they hug as tightly as the Gibdos from the Zelda series.

10. Spawn inside a skeleton dungeon

Source: Minecraft Seeds

Seed: 1736813803934715730

We’re getting good at hunting this macabre stuff, aren't we? This final seed will take you to a dungeon that is full of people just like you and me, minus the flesh.

I’m not quite sure how they manage to move without a brain—maybe the zombies could help them find one. The other curious thing about this particular skeleton is that it appears to be on fire inside a cage—I suppose that’s one way to burn off all the fat gained from Halloween.

We’ve seen witches, pumpkins, forests, mansions, isolated locales, zombies, and even some terrifying white stuff. If that’s not enough to get your hairs to stand on end, then you’re a tough sell. That or you just don’t get the fun of Halloween and the autumn months. Either way, I hope you enjoyed this list and take the time to do some exploration of your own in Minecraft. The colored blocks are waiting for you.

The 5 Best Tools to Help You Build Minecraft Maps https://www.gameskinny.com/y8dgu/the-5-best-tools-to-help-you-build-minecraft-maps https://www.gameskinny.com/y8dgu/the-5-best-tools-to-help-you-build-minecraft-maps Fri, 28 Oct 2016 06:15:10 -0400 Sergey_3847

Although making maps in Minecraft is a lot of fun, at times it does take a lot of work, if you’re up to something grandiose. Fortunately, the Minecraft community has some excellent tools to offer that can significantly simplify the process of map creation.

These are the tools that are universally considered the best among the Minecraft fans. They will help you create any type of adventure map you want, be it a parkour, a puzzle, or some sort of a settlement. The only limit is your imagination!

MC Edit

MC Edit

MC Edit is definitely the most popular Minecraft map editor out there. It’s easy to work with and the abundance of tools allows you to create highly complex maps in a short span of time.

It utilizes the Minecraft schematic type of files that makes it extremely easy to transfer your creations from MC Edit into your Minecraft client. It is also widely used by many map creators to share their works online.

The best part about MC Edit is that you can copy and paste huge chunks of world from one place to another. This means that you don’t need to build the same structure twice – just build one and then make as many copies as you need.

It makes the creation of cities and complex structures much easier, since you don’t waste time on repeating the same actions over and over again.

World Painter

World Painter minecraft

This simple tool is designed to help you paint Minecraft terrain just like you would in the standard Microsoft Paint program. It is very convenient and requires almost no prior knowledge or experience with any design software.

World Painter is super intuitive and is fully compatible with Minecraft schematics, meaning that you can upload the structures you’ve made in MC Edit into your custom world.

You can do some other things as well -- for example, redistribute the ores in the underground and create caverns as the means of access to these ores.

Basically, World Painter is used for creating the landmass, and then you fill it with things that you create in other tools.

World Maker

World Maker

When you get tired of the same biomes and vanilla structures in Minecraft, it is time to install World Maker – a unique tool that generates radically different worlds than those you’re so used to seeing.

You will be able to generate giant floating islands in the sky covered by massive water bubbles, forests covered with huge trees that will make you look like a tiny squirrel, planetoids that consist of some valuable ores, and many other objects.

On top of that, you will encounter new kinds of mobs, plants, desert volcanoes, portals to other worlds, etc. This is just a small list of all the unusual things you will find in World Maker.

MC Dungeon

MC Dungeon

MC Dungeon is similar to World Maker, but it is focused solely on generating unique types of dungeons. They will not be empty, but full of all sorts of secrets and hidden treasures that are also procedurally generated, so there will always be an element of surprise.

The Hard Mode offers additional spawners with mobs that will await you in the darkest corners. However, the rewards will be higher as well, just as the number of traps and secret doors.

If you like scavenging for treasures in the unknown areas of Minecraft, then MC Dungeon is a perfect tool for you.

Block Topograph

Block Topograph

And lastly, here is a tool for Minecraft PE users – Block Topograph, a free world viewer and editor for mobile devices.

It’s really easy to get lost in a new area in Minecraft, but with the help of this awesome tool you will see your exact location and other markings indicating such objects like mobs, villages, types of surface, etc.

You can also use Block Topograph to teleport yourself to any location on the map just by tapping the spot you want to spawn at. This will make your playthrough so much more enjoyable, even if there is a little bit of cheating involved.

Best Channels to Watch for Minecraft Songs https://www.gameskinny.com/2t8m3/best-channels-to-watch-for-minecraft-songs https://www.gameskinny.com/2t8m3/best-channels-to-watch-for-minecraft-songs Wed, 26 Oct 2016 06:00:01 -0400 sknau002

AntVenom makes some really catchy music. His channel has more than just music, with tips and tricks in between. But when he drops a music video, you'll be happy you subscribed -- even if that's not your thing.

Besides music videos, he also does in-game experiments, Minecraft top lists, and overviews of the Pocket and Console versions of Minecraft.

That's our list of channels to watch for Minecraft music, both big and small. Be sure to check out our countdown of the best Minecraft music videos as well.

Hopefully you like our list, but let us know if there are any other great content creators you'd like to see get noticed!

This channel is slightly different. Instead of Minecraft Music videos made in the Minecraft video editor, it's actually TheMusicalKnight making music within Minecraft itself.

He makes and shows off musical note compilations in-game. He's got a smaller channel, but being that it's something different, it seemed worth mentioning! Smaller numbers don't necessarily mean bad content -- and in this case it defintely doesn't!

Phantaboulous has been making Minecraft music videos since 2012 and is still going strong today!

His About page on YouTube states that he posts about once every month or two, which is a pretty good turn-around time for music and animation. And interesting fact: He's from the Netherlands.

This YouTuber is a smaller, but up-and-coming creator. They upload roughly on a 1-2 month basis -- although sometimes instead of a music video, it's just an animation.

These smaller guys deserve some love, and EnchantedMod is pretty good at what they do. So while this may be a place to grow, it's also got some quality music videos as well!

Minecraft Jams!

Minecraft Jams is run by a creator named Dwayne Russell. He's actually a professional music composer for TV networks like MTV, Bravo, and CBS.  He started this channel because his son was a huge Minecraft fan, and it just took off from there.

As many of you may know, Minecraft music videos are very popular.  They've actually been around for a number of years -- long enough for some artists to have come and gone.

There have been artists like CaptainSparklez who seem to have moved on from music, or at least taken a long hiatus. But this is a list of channels currently producing music for Minecraft to look out for.

Note that subscriber count isn't necessarily a deciding factor here! After all, who would read a list of things they didn't know for the sake of self-confirmation?  Hopefully you haven't heard of some of these artists so that they can grow their fan-base and keep making awesome Minecraft music.

Add-ons, Sponges, and Bosses Oh My! Minecraft PE/W10 0.16 Gets an Update https://www.gameskinny.com/twvu4/add-ons-sponges-and-bosses-oh-my-minecraft-pew10-016-gets-an-update https://www.gameskinny.com/twvu4/add-ons-sponges-and-bosses-oh-my-minecraft-pew10-016-gets-an-update Fri, 21 Oct 2016 10:48:40 -0400 Joshua Harris

Wet sponges, not wet blankets, are making their debut in the Minecraft Pocket and Windows 10 Editions as the beta moves into version 0.16 today. And with the new version comes lots of changes, including add-ons, sponges, and bosses.

Add-Ons are now available, which will completely change how Minecraft is played on the mobile and PC platforms. For example, it means that animal mobs (like chickens) can have their behaviors tweaked so that players can ride them -- or that monster mobs, like creepers, can have their explosions leave a larger impact.

Mojang encourages players to share their creations with their friends and family and even set up a page to give crafters an idea of where to begin in their creative endeavors. There is also an FAQ for anyone who is still unclear about how Add-Ons work or still have questions about how the latest addition to Minecraft works.

Players will also be excited to know that they now have the ability upload/download their worlds to the Minecraft Realms servers. With this newfound freedom people can now share their offline worlds with their friends and the public, as well as download a Realm or two to play offline. Another useful feature includes using Realms to make regular backups of offline maps, which will come in handy for those more adventurous and destructive crafters.

If that wasn't enough to tickle your Minecraft fancy, players now have a reason to explore the Ocean Monuments. Along with Guardians and Elder guardians, these underwater fortresses also include prismarine, sea lanterns, and many many more surprises.

The Miscellaneous Update Goodies

Mojang also included a host of new features and tweaks, which includes:

New Features

  • Ocean Monuments
  • Guardians and Elder Guardians
  • Prismarine, dark prismarine & prismarine bricks
  • Prismarine shard & prismarine crystal
  • Sea lanterns
  • The Wither!
  • Nether star
  • Beacon
  • Wet & dry sponges
  • Slash commands (with a handy auto complete feature).
    • Enable cheats for a world in the options screen for access, but note that Xbox Live achievements will be disabled when you’re using ‘em!
  • Custom key bindings! (Hooray for lefties!)
  • A new Creative inventory search feature
  • Add-On section for world settings
  • You can change game modes in Realms (note that doing this will restart the realm)
  • Ability to upload & download worlds in Realms
  • Ability to promote players as operators in Realms

  • UI improvements!
  • Performance improvements!
  • Tweaks to various mob action/behavior triggers, including fixing creeper explosions
  • Elder guardian de-buff visuals fixed (feedback from Android beta)
  • Fishing rods & arrows will fire in more than just one direction
  • Lots of tweaks to water textures to make underwater more fun
  • Tweaks to Realms settings
  • Visual tweaks to sun, moon & stars when rendering in VR immersive mode
  • Ridiculous numbers of bug fixes!

With the update rolling out today, crafters will have plenty to sift through on Minecraft Pocket Edition and the Windows 10 version of the game. The addition of Add-Ons will give players hours of content to engage with in addition to searching the endless seas for Ocean Monuments as well as their disgruntled inhabitants.

If you need some awesome new worlds to play in, make sure to check out our extensive list of awesome Minecraft seeds for all the latest versions.

League of Legends— Doom Bots of Doom

Oct 20-24, Oct 28-31

Riot Games invites players to test their luck against the nightmare of Doom Bots. Doom Bots feature a high-level AI team on a special edition of the Summoner's Rift map. Players must work together to survive the battle until the AIs band together to summon the ultimate boss: Little Devil Teemo. To win the game, teams must defeat Teemo rather than take down the enemy base. In fact, enemy turrets will be invulnerable, so there's no point in trying.

Doom Bots will push lanes relentlessly for fifteen minutes, after which Little Devil Teemo is summoned. They will not recall or shop, and if you managed to kill an enemy champion, they'll return to lane quickly. The Rift has been halved in size, giving teams less room to maneuver and setting a more hectic pace for gameplay.

Can you survive and take down Teemo? Or will your base fall?

Our favorite characters get new looks with the Halloween packs in Overwatch. From Witch Mercy to Junkenstein, each skin is a spin on some of our favorite Halloween stories and traditional costumes. A spooky new Haunted Hollywood map is available, allowing players a new environment to explore.

However, the new skins aren't the highlight of the holiday. Overwatch has also introduced a new PvE Brawl mode: Junkenstein's revenge. [Updated Oct.24] Check out the Pokemon Go Halloween event on the next slide!

One of the best holidays of the year is almost here: Halloween! A time for creepy haunted houses, glowing pumpkins, hay rides in the dark, bonfires, fun costumes and— of course— candy!

As gamers, we have the added bonus of in-game Halloween events. Special game modes, skins, and quests are being patched into our favorite games. In-game shops are starting to carry special wares for the holidays, and avatars find themselves dressed to impress with a spooky new look. Even better, most of these special events last longer than a single night, meaning we can enjoy the holiday several times over.

It's that time of year again -- Mojang has revealed yet another spooky skin pack, Campfire Tales, as part of their Minecraft content for this year's Halloween. The Halloween themed skin pack will feature 16 scary new character skins that will be available for both Minecraft Pocket and Windows 10 Edition at a cost of $1.99.

The Campfire Tales skin pack will include: the jealous Headless Haunter, the vengeful Lumbering Jack, the obsessive Sea-Swallowed Captain, the hasty confectioner Crisp, the cursed Well Wisher, Rancid Anne, The Sham, Ol’ Diggy and the Risen Rose.

The Minecraft Twitter page has been revealing some twisted tales about each character since the start of October. You can view all these twisted tales here.

Alongside the Campfire Tales skin pack, Mojang has released the 0.15.10 update for Minecraft Pocket and Windows 10 Edition. While the update is rather small, it focuses heavily on fixing bug-related issues such as MINECON 2016 capes, which can now be obtained for a limited time only from the Google Play store for free using the code "MINECON2016". It also fixes a number of VR related issues.

For those interested, the full change log can be found below:

New Features:

  • Campfire Tales skin pack!

  • Fixed mirror texture issues.
  • Small fix to smart turning. (VR only)
  • Capes no longer clip through armor.

Bug Fixes:

  • When getting the MINECON 2016 capes, you will now be prompted to make a “free” purchase from your device’s store. If you are on Android & it prompts you for a payment, use the code MINECON2016 to get it for free.
  • Fixed crash when rendering leads in VR. (VR only)
  • Using the B button to quit the game (when using a controller) now works. (Win 10 only)
  • Fixed top of cursor flickering in VR. (VR only)

9 Mobile Games For Every Type of Hardcore Gamer https://www.gameskinny.com/8jt2d/9-mobile-games-for-every-type-of-hardcore-gamer https://www.gameskinny.com/8jt2d/9-mobile-games-for-every-type-of-hardcore-gamer Mon, 03 Oct 2016 06:36:12 -0400 sknau002

Mobile gaming has come a long way

At first, we had games like Snake. Then someone thought it would be a good idea to model every game after Farmville and Candy Crush Saga. Thankfully, the mobile market has diversified tremendously since, and we think these examples are the best of their genre.

If there's any you think we missed or should check out for the genres mentioned, let us know!

For Hardcore Fighting Game Fans

Injustice: Gods Among Us

Warner Bros. teams up with DC to bring us their giant roster of superheroes into a fighting game...for mobile? With the news of Injustice 2 flying around lately, the predecessor's mobile version takes a very different approach to the series -- and surprisingly enough it works.

The mobile version of Injustice: Gods Among Us is technically a collectible card game where the player builds a roster of heroes/antiheroes/villains and fights another team in 3-on-3 action. Instead of traditional fighting game controls, moves are executed with a series of taps and swipes.

With cross-platform multiplayer so iOS and Android players can fight, a huge roster to collect, and levels/gear to customize the characters, Injustice: Gods Among Us sits right up there with Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle in terms of strategy, even if the core gameplay is different.

For Hardcore Action RPG Fans

Crashlands is a silly game. But silly doesn't mean not hardcore. I mean, just listen to that announcer in the trailer:

In Crashlands, players murder evil critters, collect items, craft things, make epic weapons and armor, and can even build their own homes! It's controls are similar to Diablo, as you click where you want to go/what you want to murder.

The best part about Crashlands is the fact that it's cross-platform. Play at home on your PC, save, go to work, play it on your phone when you should be doing something else. (Don't tell them we told you to do that though). Is it cheating that literally the same game and same instance can be played on both PC and mobile? Hopefully not, because they play exactly the same, so it's hard to say which is superior.

Like always, it's available on Android and iOS, and the PC version is available on Steam and GOG!

For Hardcore Turn-Based Strategy Fans

Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle

This one came as a surprise. Not because it's Dragon Ball Z, but because it looks like a simple match-the-tiles game. But don't be fooled, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is a very complex mobile game. There's far more strategy to it than "match the blue orbs with blue characters".

There's a map to traverse across with tiles that do different things, kind of like a board game. Then there are battles where the player must find what orbs will do the most damage with any of the characters, play the orbs in order, and then take the enemy's color type into consideration as well, as certain colors are weaker or stronger against others. (It's a bit like Pokemon types.)

Collecting different characters and items and training your party are all part of the strategy as well. While the actual battles are simple to execute, mastering them takes actual strategy -- something absolutely not apparent at first glance.

Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle snuck its way to the top of this genre with the beneath-the-surface depth it hides. It's available on both Android and iOS and is guaranteed to get many hours out of fans of strategy.

For Hardcore Puzzler Fans

Superbrothers Sword & Sworcery

This game is trippy. While it is available on Steam as well, but it was built to be a mobile game. It's on both Android and iOS and plays mostly like a point and click adventure. (Or should we call it a poke and prod adventure because of the touchscreen?) Superbrothers Sword & Sworcery is about a warrior girl trying to complete a task set upon her by a higher being.

When I say "this game is trippy", I mean it feels like an audio and visual-induced fever dream. It looks a bit like a Super Nintendo game, but it's got a bunch of strange particle effects and music that is guaranteed to send players into a trance. Jim Guthrie, an experimental musician from Canada, did the soundtrack, which really brings the game to life. It should most definitely be played with headphones and the sound cranked up.

Superbrothers Sword & Sworcery was chosen because it requires you to think. The music itself may caress the ear tenderly, but the puzzle solving grabs the player's attention by the horns.

For Hardcore Story-based/Narrative Fans

Any Mobile Telltale Game

This may seem like a cheap answer, but Telltale makes good story-based games, and picking one just doesn't prove that point enough.  Most of their big name titles are on both Android and iOS, but not all of them.

The Walking Dead, Minecraft: Story Mode, and Game of Thrones come to mind immediately as games that Telltale knocked out of the park, and their mobile versions are the same games, one-to-one, with better controls for touch screen. Often times, games that are one-to-one from a home device to mobile are clunky and feel like they're not made for a smartphone. Telltale makes sure that isn't the case with their ports.

If that wasn't enough to herald them as the best story-based games to play on mobile, then maybe the tradition of Telltale making the first episode of a completed series completely free to serve as a demo will convince a point-and-click adventurers to check out one of the many series they've got.

For Hardcore Party Game Fans

Some may read the description of Spaceteam and wonder how it's "hardcore". Well, even hardcore gamers have friends that come over on occasion, and Spaceteam is a great pick-up-and-play party game that takes a bit more than just rapid tapping on the screen to win.

Spaceteam is a hilarious and absolutely fun multiplayer game. All you need is a few friends, Android or iOS smartphones or tablets, and a place where you can be loud.

Once the game boots up and everyone gets in, instructions start reading out on one of your party member's screens. They must read these instructions out loud. For example: "Set phasers to stun!" Only one person has the phaser dial on their screen, so the person who has it must do as they're told with a dial/switch/button/etc. and let everyone know they're doing it. This gets very hectic when the time bar proceeds to drain faster and faster with each instruction.

It may be a mobile game, but it's also very much an in-person party game and definitely worth a try at a get-together now that it's cross-platform. It was chosen for this list for its requirement of teamwork. It also has a humor to it that takes a certain amount of pop culture knowledge to appreciate.

For Hardcore Deck Building Fans

Star Realms

Originally a physical card deck-building game, Star Realms lends itself to the mobile market pretty easily. The font is ever-so-slightly hard to read, but the cards actually represent the real-life cards accurately. The Star Realms card game is a bunch of fun, so it only makes sense that the mobile game be fun as well -- especially with an easy-to-use multiplayer mode. The art on the cards is also really interesting, and it's available on Android and iOS. To top it all off, the game is also cross-platform -- so you can face your Android friend with your iPhone!

Star Realms was an easy choice for this list. It takes strategy and forethought to play. It's also a competitive game, lending to many gamers' competitive nature.

However, according to many of our writers and editors, Animation Throwdown is equally as worthy of this genre's crown.

For Harcore Survival Fans

Don't Starve Pocket Edition

Don't Starve is from the lovely developers over at Klei Entertainment. It's a survival game -- not a builder game, not a tower defense game, just a survival game. Players start off as Wilson, the inventor, who has been plopped down in the middle of the wilderness. His objective? Don't starve.

Don't Starve Pocket Edition is the same premise: survive the wilderness, eat food, collect things, create inventions to make the previous tasks easier, and find your way out of the wilderness. But this time...it's on an Android or iOS phone. It also doesn't have the newest DLCs like the rest of the versions, but it's still relatively new and functions nearly identically to its home-bound counterparts.

The art style is very reminiscent of Tim Burton, and the game is actually quite difficult, making the evocation of Tim Burton almost ironic in a way. It's another type of game where dying is just part of the process. Inventions discovered throughout a previous attempt to not starve will carry over to the next run, all that's needed is its ingredients. So this game is very susceptible to a mobile-friendly "just one more try" addiction.

For Hardcore Builder Fans

Minecraft Pocket Edition

Yes, we started this list with Minecraft Pocket Edition. Everyone knows it exists, and many Minecraft purists probably think it's not as great as the PC version. But we're talking about quality mobile games.

Imagine we're in a parallel universe where Minecraft is only available on Android and iOS devices. This game is actually pretty feature packed for a mobile game! It would be a disservice not to take this game for its own merits apart from its PC big brother.

Minecraft Pocket Edition was picked because not only is it a classic example of a real building/survival game on a smartphone, but it also takes concentration, mastery, and knowledge of Minecraft to play.

In the last few years, mobile gaming has exploded. From crazes like Angry Birds and Clash of Clans to fully realized RPGs like Bastion and Fallout Shelter, mobile games have come a long way.

But what really brought mobile into the spotlight was Pokemon Go. It was a fun mobile game that did something really different for the Pokemon franchise and the mobile market as a whole.

Pokemon Go proved to us that good, fun games can in fact be made on smart phones -- and not just boring connect-four and tapping games. Real, challenging games have been given the chance to shine on mobile and show that it's not just a realm for the casual gamer.

But Pokemon Go has gotten a little played out, and gamer are looking for a new mobile adventure. So we've put together a list of games for real, hardcore gamers. Whatever your genre of preference is, we've found great mobile games for you to play on Android and iPhone. All the titles ahead are ones that real gamers would actually enjoy. Enough with the casual games, give us a challenge!

Developer Mojang has announced that its latest major update -- The Boss Update -- is available today in beta form for Minecraft: Pocket Edition, before rolling out at a later date on Windows 10 Edition Beta and Gear VR Edition as well.

The update brings a number of new Minecraft features to these versions of the game, which Mojang believe will benefit all types of players. This is part of Mojang’s goal for every version of the game to have “full feature parity with one another”.

Rare underwater Ocean Monuments will now be available to explore, along with their laser-shooting Guardian inhabitants. These new Monuments will allow for the looting of treasures and let players collect items such as Prismarine, Sea Lanterns and Sponges; all of which are useful in player creations and building.

The update includes two bosses: the Elder Guardian and the Wither. Whilst the Elder Guardian can be found in the Ocean Monuments, the three-headed Wither can be summoned and defeated by players in order to collect its ultra-rare Nether Star item drops.

Nether Stars are important items for crafting beacons which, as their name suggests, emit a beam of light into the sky and can aid players with beneficial status effects.

Last but not least, over twenty slash commands will now be available for people to play around with. Acting somewhat like cheats, they allow players to do cool things like summoning mobs of creatures, changing the weather or time of day and swapping between game modes much more quickly and easily.

The full update will be released for free on Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition, Pocket Edition and Gear VR Edition this fall, but in the meantime, Pocket Edition players can access the beta version today!

The Best Minecraft Skin Creators https://www.gameskinny.com/vi7hv/the-best-minecraft-skin-creators https://www.gameskinny.com/vi7hv/the-best-minecraft-skin-creators Fri, 26 Aug 2016 06:41:49 -0400 Sergey_3847

The best thing about Minecraft is that it is completely customizable. This allows fans of the game to create their own unique features in the game, and one of the most popular customizable features in Minecraft is character skins.

There are many ways how you can change your character’s look in the game: you can download a ready skin pack online or you could create a skin of your own that would be completely unique.

But how do you do that? Fortunately, there are lots of programs that can help you create a custom skin. The next question is: which one do you choose to make your skin? That’s why we present you with the list of the best online Minecraft skin makers for PC/console users and another one that can be used for your Pocket Edition on your phone or tablet.

SeusCraft minecraft

SuesCraft’s Easy Skin Creator is probably the easiest and the most convenient Minecraft skin maker on the web. It lets you choose from a great variety of details to put into your skin, and finish it rather quickly instead of filling each and every pixel manually.

Another great feature is a Skin Smasher that allows you to combine two skins together and turn into a whole new look with an unusual effect.

The Skin Stealer can grab a skin from another player in game that you may have encountered previously. Just enter the username in the search field and SeusCraft will “steal” it for you in a glimpse of an eye.

The last but not least feature of SeusCraft is The Converter that allows you to convert your old skins to a newer version that would be compatible with the latest Minecraft builds.

Miners Need Cool Shoes

Miners Need Cool Shoes

Miners Need Cool Shoes is a bit more complex software than SeusCraft and will fit users who like to adjust every single pixel of their original skin. However, if you feel lazy, you can always use Generate Random Skin feature to let the RNG create a skin for you.

You may then edit the skin that the software has generated or leave it as it is. You can also upload your older skins into the Cool Shoes and use its rich color system to upgrade and redesign certain features of the skin.

And, just like SeusCraft, Cool Shoes can grab a Minecraft.net skin from another user. All you need is to enter the user’s name into the search field and voila.

Newground’s SkinCraft is a browser-based application that offers a huge pool of options. You can make a skin from scratch with a vast palette of colors and effects tools, or you can use pre-made skins and templates.

The great thing about this Minecraft skin maker is that it allows you to work with layers, just like Photoshop. You can put several layers of clothes and items on the same area, blur them out or add any other exciting effects, and turn your skin into a piece of art.

Newground website has a huge community of skin creators, so you can share your designs and let others see your creations.

Skin DJ

Skin DJ minecraft pe

What about the owners of Minecraft PE? No problem, here is the tool that you need – Skin DJ is a totally free app for your phone or tablet, and it is constantly upgraded with new features.

Skin DJ is really powerful and has everything you need to create your own original Minecraft skins. Here, you can break down the 3D model into parts and layers to be able to edit smaller details, if perfectionism is your goal. You have several visualization modes with various types of overlays; you can grab skins from other Minecraft PE users with “Skin Stealer”; etc.

With Skin DJ there is no need to create your skins on PC, convert them and export them to your phone – you can do all this in one place and still have the same amount of tools as any other online skin maker.

What Minecraft skin maker do you prefer to use? Leave your feedback in the comments.

The 5 Best Mansion-Building Seeds for Minecraft PE 0.15.6 https://www.gameskinny.com/gbsnx/the-5-best-mansion-building-seeds-for-minecraft-pe-0156 https://www.gameskinny.com/gbsnx/the-5-best-mansion-building-seeds-for-minecraft-pe-0156 Mon, 29 Aug 2016 11:45:32 -0400 Craig Snyder

One of the best offline adventures you can partake in with Minecraft Pocket Edition is finding the perfect little space of a world to create your living future! That future starts with your home, and everyone wants a mansion.

Building a mansion in Minecraft is a tall task, as it requires a huge number of resources, lots of hours, and a landscape appropriate for handling such a build. I've done the hard work for you already though, so here are five of the best MCPE seeds that you can use for starting your mansion, tested with the latest version 0.15.6.

Plains between two deserts for a nice mansion view

Seed: bbyyee
Biomes: desert, plain, river, savanna

This seed spawns you at an intersection where two deserts combine around a beautiful plain perfect for building your mansion on! Near the spawn are two desert temples that have chests scattered throughout them. These chests contain several enchanted books and assorted ore. There's also a village blacksmith with a chest that contains:

  • 1 iron helmet
  • 1 iron pickaxe
  • 1 saddle
  • 5 apples

This is a great seed for anyone looking for flatter, scenic landscape to start their mansion on. The resources around you aren't so shabby either.

Tons of desert chests to start your mansion project

Biomes: desert, jungle

Out of dozens of seeds that I've browsed through, this seed definitely contained the most amount of loot to give you a head start in creating your mansion. From the spawn, you can see a desert temple. Head to the desert temple and look around you, where two desert villages (with blacksmiths) should be visible.

One of those blacksmiths contain a chest with:

  • 1 iron helmet
  • 1 iron leggings
  • 1 iron ingot
  • 10 ink sacs
  • 3 apples
  • 2 breads

The other blacksmith chest, in the village right beside it, contains:

  • another iron helmet
  • 9 more ink sacs
  • 2 more apples

Remember that desert temple we used as navigation from the start? It contains chests holding:

  • 6 enchanted books (2 Fire Aspect I, 2 Feather Falling I, Projectile Protection IV, and Aqua Affinity I)
  • 31 bones
  • 29 gold ingots
  • 4 iron ingots
  • 1 iron horse armor

Take these resources, clear out some of that jungle for wood, and get to work on your mansion!

The flattest seed to build your mansion on

Seed: Roulette
Biomes: plains, forest, river

You spawn underwater with this seed, but emerge from that water and you'll see some of the flattest plains you've probably ever come across!

There's a perfect amount of land for you to begin construction of your mansion. Even better is that there's a sizeable forest on the opposite side of the spawn that should provide you with enough wood necessary for your building. The forest isn't obnoxiously large, but just enough for you to cut down and leave the land flat while having what's necessary for your mansion. You don't want all those trees blocking the view of your mansion anyway!

While there are no villages, chests, or other goodies right around the spawn, this is definitely some of the best land I've seen for beginning the development of your mansion project.

Flat snow land with a village and blacksmith nearby

Biomes: river, ice plains, forest

Here's some more beautiful and flat land to start your mansion on, except colder! You actually spawn on top a tree in a forest, but you're immediately looking out over a vast ice plains.

Facing the ice plains, if you head forward and right, you'll eventually reach a village. This village has a blacksmith chest containing:

  • 1 iron sword
  • 1 iron leggings
  • 1 iron boots
  • 2 bread

The real treat of this seed is the landscape though. These ice plains are very flat and perfect for starting off your mansion without having to move too many blocks. Behind where you spawned is a large forest that should provide an adequate amount of wood for your project.

Pick any biome to build your mansion on

Seed: deadbolt
Biomes: desert, extreme hill, forest, plains, river, savanna, swamp

In this seed, you spawn where desert meets plains and there's a lot to explore and choose from for where you want to begin your mansion. Continue forward from the spawn until you see the savanna, separated by a river, and you should see a village on the nearby plains.

This village has a blacksmith with a chest containing:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 iron horse armor
  • 2 iron helmets
  • 1 iron ingot
  • 12 ink sacs
  • 1 saddle

I personally think the best place to start your mansion in this seed is over the extreme hills you'll find behind the spawn. You'll see an area there where lava is flowing, and anywhere near here is a great place to begin. It'd give a very scenic view of the top of your mansion coming from over these massive hills, and the area around you is relatively flat so nothing should really get in the way of your construction.

What do you think about these seeds? Which one is the best? If you have any of your own that are appropriate for building mansions, share them in the comments below!
