Monster Hunter Movie Sequel Could be on the Horizon

The first Monster Hunter movie hasn't hit theaters yet, but producer Paul Anderson might already be working on a MonHun movie sequel.

The Monster Hunter movie hits theaters December 30, but reports suggest producer Paul Anderson already has at least one sequel in the works. Anderson and MonHun star Milla Jovovich dropped hints of a sequel in a recent Total Film Magazine interview.

As series fans know, Monster Hunter play host to scads of creatures, but Anderson said he can only fit "five or six" in the film. However, it means there's room for expansion. "It’s a big, fun world that I think we’ve only just started to scratch the surface of," he said.

Based on what Jovovich said, he's already started the scratching. She told Total Film:

Definitely, we would love to make another one. Hopefully people are going to love it because I know Paul would love to make a sequel. I mean, he’s already writing something...

Tencent and Constantin Films showed off a little of what to expect from the first Monster Hunter movie in an October trailer. It shows Jovovich's character and a squadron of soldiers transported to a strange world full of definitely more than six monster types.

You'll usually find him playing RPGs, strategy games, or platformers, but he's up for almost anything that seems interesting.
