Revealed during the Guerilla Collective’s online showcase, the trailer highlights just what’s happened between Remnant: From the Ashes and the start of the sequel. The beginning of the story trailer focuses on humanity and their original fight against the Root. For those that played Remnant: From the Ashes, some of the footage will be familiar. But the fight didn’t end there. Only extending the timer on humanity’s destruction, Remnant 2 picks up decades later in a rebuilt settlement, with the Root still hunting humankind.

The latter half of the 2:32 trailer includes the various Archetypes that you’ll be able to choose, including the Handler and the recently announced Challenger. Along with showing off the big guns saving the day, we get a glimpse at Nimue, a new moon-adorned enemy. New and old variations of the Root flick through the video, as well as what we can assume to be the Executioner.

Even more unnamed horrors await us as the trailer continues. Root-corrupted golems, horned abominations, giant humanoids, and canine creatures with giant mouths down the center of their bodies are all trying to kill you. Remnant 2 releases this summer on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more.
