Would You Play Another Final Fantasy X Game?

Is there a possible Final Fantasy X-3 coming?

Kazushige Nojima, the scenario writer behind the Final Fantasy X games mentioned his interest in seeing a third installment in the series. This got me thinking, what do the fans think?

"If there's enough demand, then we may possibly see new developments… I would personally like to see a sequel like X-3." Kazushige Nojima

The comments on Crunchyroll are all positive for a new installment. It's possible this is just the vocal minority who want the game, but still there is some interest for it. With the release of the PS3 and PS Vita remastered versions of Final Fantasy X|X-2 coming in March interest is sure to grow.

A current google trends search shows how often people are looking up new information on the FFX series. I have to say, this close to the release of the remakes I would have expected more popularity.

I'd love to see a third installment, in which we get to play as the iconic cast from the first two games. The Final Fantasy X series had a great story. I'd love to see that story built upon. Do I think it will happen? I honestly think the idea's floating around the office, otherwise Nojima would've never made such a statement publicly.

This was probably one of the most touching scenes in the entire Final Fantasy X series.

Only time will tell just where the Final Fantasy X series will go. If you want to see an addition to the series, let Square Enix know by picking up the remake in March.

I loved X. It was my favorite Final Fantasy game. Unfortunately, I really feel the sequel put Yuna and Tidus' names to Shame. The game had the same characters, and the same places, but it wasn't the same story. When I started watching it I accepted it to be about Yuna looking for Tidus and her adventure getting closer to it, but as I kept playing the game I realized that it was all about Vegnigun and Suien. (Forgive me I can't spell.) At the end when Yuna finds Tidus I felt cheated. He just reappears? There's no great powerful story of how love conquers all? If he was just going to reappear than why have the whole X-2 game? Why not just sell that one scene? But it wasn't. It was about Paine, and Cid, and the damn Guado having lost their home. It was a cheap trick.

I propose another X-2 (to make up for the last one.) differentiate it by color or something. X-2 Blue. Make this video from Tidus' perspective. Start it as soon as he jumps into the mist at the end of X. He wakes up somewhere, maybe back in Zanerkin. As in X-2 how Rikku one of Yuna's old guardians was a playable character, make Auron a playable character. Don't worry I'll explain.

Every time at the end of X, and through the first X-2 Yuna whistles, Tidus hears it. Sometimes he's able to reach out to her, and sometimes he can't. But why is he still around if the faith have awoken? And why is Auron still around if he wax sent? (At this point Square Enix will need a few other playable characters and a background plot, but they don't want to repeat their mistake. This time they need to keep the story focused on a Tidus and his search for Yuna.)

Tidus learns that the faith have woken up but for some reason he has not faded, but spiraled into a world of his own creation. A mystical place of mind, almost like his own dream of Zanerkin. He realizes that Auron isn't even real at all. So if Tidus still thinks independent of the fayth's dream, then he is alive and doesn't need them. (Playing X-2 this is another thing that always bothered me, I was always upset because I didn't know how Tidus came back and I thought he'd just fade again. I never had closure, I could never be happy for Yuna.)

Of course cross the scenes that are in X-2 that Tidus is in as well. And have the ending very powerful like: live conquers all. I know I'm missing a LOT of things. But those are the basics and should redeem Square Enix (as long as they keep it focused on Tidus and Yuna primarily this time.) make people like X again, and maybe even allow for that sequel.

Please tell me what you think? Any ideas to add to mine? (I apologize again for my spelling. I know I butchered a few words.)

Really I haven't been feeling any of the Final Fantasy games after FF IX. I really wasn't impressed with X and to me the franchise has just been going downhill since then. :(

I enjoyed X except for the loss of open world maps.

Based on what they did with X-2 I'm not particularly excited to see if they come out with another. Now if they were to make another X, but made the game as amazing as the original X, YES.

I would if Square Enix didn't muck it up. But because it's almost guaranteed that they would, I guess the answer is "no."

That being said, X-2 never did get enough credit.

I liked the X-2 story I just felt it was too short.

Too short? I don't remember the length...but that's because I end up putting 100+ hours into any FF, anyway. ;)

    Well, I did. Not anymore.

yea there were a lot of obscure things you had to do in x-2 for 100% completion. However if you played straight through the story it lasted about 8 hours ish tops.

    Uh...I'm not sure that's true.

I beat the story in one sitting.

Meh... I wouldn't want to revisit that story again. I felt the first "X" was enough. Though I don't have much interest in the series after XII.
