Batman villain Red Hood will soon be coming to the rogue's gallery of Injustice 2. Today, Ed Boon, the creative director of NetherRealm Studios, announced via Twitter that the antagonist will soon be coming to the game. In addition to this news, Boon shared a screenshot that shows the character juggling his opponent in the air.

Red Hood will be a part of the game's first fighter pack, which will include former Teen Titan Starfire and Mortal Kombat's Sub-Zero.

Red Hood is a former sidekick of Batman. In the last several years, the character has gained popularity from his animated movie, Under The Red Hood, which is based off the comic story arc, Under the Hood. The new Red Hood and the Outlaws comics series, which is part of the DC Rebirth series, has the character teaming up with fallen Amazon Artemis and failed Superman-clone Bizarro.

A release date and price for Injustice 2's first fighter pack has not yet been announced, but it is included in the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game.

Injustice 2 Scarecrow Guide https://www.gameskinny.com/wx1np/injustice-2-scarecrow-guide https://www.gameskinny.com/wx1np/injustice-2-scarecrow-guide Mon, 22 May 2017 17:26:20 -0400 Synzer

Scarecrow is a lanky, awkward character with long reach in Injustice 2. He uses unorthodox grabs, jumping attacks, and fear toxin to keep his opponent guessing. If you don't know his attacks or patterns, he can be a real pain to fight.

So, I'm going to teach you a few things about the master of fear so you can become your opponent's worst nightmare during battle.

This guide will go over playing as Scarecrow in Injustice 2, including:

  • Scarecrow Basics -- His play style, special moves, and character powers.
  • Scarecrow Combos -- Examples of damage-dealing combos you can perform as Scarecrow.

Scarecrow Basics

injustice 2 scarecrow guide

Scarecrow is an interesting character to play because of his amazing reach. I would still classify him as a close-range fighter (not a ranged/zoner) because he has a longer reach than most. Some of his basic attacks and combos are able to hit opponents at great distances -- or knock opponents away, giving him time to build his defenses.

Scarecrow's Special Moves
  • Death Spin -- Down, Back, Light Attack
  • Scythe Grab -- Back, Forward, Light Attack
  • Toxin Breath -- Back, Forward, Medium Attack
  • Fear Ferno -- Down, Back, Medium Attack
  • Fear Toxin -- Down, Back, Heavy Attack
  • Schizophrenia -- Down, Back, Forward, Heavy Attack
  • Panic Port -- Down, Up

Death Spin and Scythe Grab are great moves to use during combos. Meter Burn Death Spin will juggle the opponent so you can continue combos. Scythe Grab pulls enemies in and a meter burn will do an extra attack that greatly fills up the Fear Meter, which we'll talk more about later.

Schizophrenia is a great grab attack and can be used at the end of certain combos. Panic Port is a teleport with no attack, which, honestly, is not very good. There doesn't seem to be invincibility at any point, but it can be useful on Zoners.

Scarecrow's Character Power

Scarecrow's character power has two parts: Inner Fear and Traumatize.

Activating inner fear will give you a toxin aura that damages enemies when you get close to them. That damage -- and any move that uses Fear Toxin -- will add to the Fear Meter. Once it is full, the bar will turn green and you can perform the Traumatize attack.

Traumatize is a full-screen attack that stuns enemies as they fall to the floor -- if it connects. This does good damage and is great for setting up combos. It is a good idea to activate Inner Fear if you are about to do a long combo that involves Fear Toxin attacks. It is also good to activate it whenever you can for the extra damage.

Inner Fear is able to defeat opponents on its own.

injustice 2 scarecrow abilities

Scarecrow's Combos

You can view how some of the longer combos look in the header video, but let me go over some of the preset Scarecrow combos that are very helpful in Injustice 2.

Before I list Scarecrow's combos, here is a quick button layout legend to use as reference for the moves to come.

  • U, D, F, B = Up, Down, Forward, Back
  • 1 = Light Attack
  • 2 = Medium Attack
  • 3 = Heavy Attack
  • 4 = Character Power
  • MB = Meter Burn
  • Ji = Jump in
  • Mind Over Body: F-2-1
  • Beware: B-2-2-1
  • Subliminal Messages:1-2-3
  • Succumb to Fear: 3-F-2+1-3
  • Another Experiment: F1-3
  • Grip on Reality: 2-2-F3

Succumb to Fear is a fun combo that knocks the opponent away and hits them with the scythe. Grip on Reality is an excellent way to end combos if you can time it right because it knocks opponents away and deals good damage on its own.

The rest are small combos that can be used during a longer chain combo or for starting a combo. Below are a few examples of longer combos you can do with Scarecrow.

  • Subliminal Messages Combo canceled into Schizophrenia.
  • 1, 2, 3 ~ DBF3
    • This is a simple 3-hit combo, but you can link it into Scarecrow's special grab for good damage.
1 Meter Burn
  • Start with Beware or Another Experiment combo, Meter Burn Death Spin, Back Launch attack, Jump in with a medium attack, move forward, Grip on Reality combo
  • B2, 2, 1 or F1,3 ~ MB DB1, B3, Ji2, F ~ 2, 2, F3

This does almost as much as the 2 meter combo, but it harder to time the ending right.

2 Meter Burn
  • Start with Beware or Another Experiment combo, Meter Burn Death Spin, Back Launch attack, Jump in with a medium attack, Mind over Body Combo, end with Meter Burn Scythe Grab
  • B2, 2, 1 or F1,3 ~ MB DB1, B3, Ji2, F2, 1 ~ MB BF1

This does the most damage of my listed combos, but it takes 2 meters to do it. The 1-meter combo that ends with Grip on Reality is better if you want to save meter, but requires better timing.

You can also skip the jump in part and use Scythe Grab right after B3.

Injustice 2 Guild Guide https://www.gameskinny.com/aquhk/injustice-2-guild-guide https://www.gameskinny.com/aquhk/injustice-2-guild-guide Thu, 18 May 2017 10:11:11 -0400 Synzer

Guilds in Injustice 2 are more than just a way to group up friends and like-minded players. They offer more challenges and extra rewards just for belonging to one. You can't access guilds immediately, and they can be a little confusing, so I'm going to go over everything you need to know to get started.

Injustice 2 Guild Basics

How to Join a Guild

The first thing you need to do is get your profile to level 5. You can easily do this by playing some of the story, or just doing single player multiverse matches. After that, you can go to the main menu and select Guilds.

Now you have options. You can either create a guild or join an existing guild. There will be suggested guilds for you to join, but if there is a specific one you want, you have to put in the Guild ID. The Guild ID is listed in the top-left corner on the guild screen of someone who is already a member of that guild.

Guild Customization

injustice 2 guild customization

Leaders or Officers of a guild can edit various things. You can decide on a guild banner, message of the day, guild motto, recruitment status, and level requirement to join.

The recruitment status affects how your guild shows up to everyone:

  • Free to Join: Anyone can join your guild as long as there is room.
  • Open: People can apply to your guild, and you must accept them before they can join.
  • Private: Nobody can join the guild.

Leaders and Officers can also promote or kick other members in the guild. Everyone can chat and link/view gear, but I don't think there is a way to trade that gear.

Guild Challenges and Multiverse

There are daily and weekly challenges that you can complete as a guild, which will earn you Guild Mother Boxes, GP, and Guild Credits. The entire guild contributes to these challenges, so it is a good idea to have a bunch of members.

  • GP affects your guild rank on the leaderboards. Every member contributes to the guild when they play and there is a daily cap per member.
  • Guild Credits are just like the normal credits, but you earn them by completing guild activities. You can also use them to purchase guild mother boxes.
  • Trophies are achievements that you complete as a guild. These will also earn you guild mother boxes.
Guild Multiverse

Guilds have their own multiverse they can complete, and it takes a team effort. If you can fully complete a multiverse and "close" it, you will increase your guild's tier. Currently there are 3 tiers, as listed in the Trophy section.

injustice 2 guild multiverse

While in the guild multiverse, you can view the objectives and perks. Perks are activated when there are 10, 25, and 40 active members. I believe this means members who are active in the guild multiverse, because I have seen it say 0 members when we have had several people online.

Extra Guild Features

Buffs

There is also an active buffs section in the main menu, but I have not seen any way to activate that yet. When I find out -- or if anyone else can let me know -- I'll add that to this guide.

Online Battles

You can earn trophies for playing online as well. There are 2 separate trophies for either fighting members from another guild, or fighting your own guild members in online/player matches.

People that do a lot of online play can easily contribute to these trophies.

---

That's all I have for guilds in Injustice 2. Again, if you know anything that I missed or have further clarification, let me know! Also, don't hesitate to ask any questions in the comments section below, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

Injustice 2 Review: NetherRealm at its Finest https://www.gameskinny.com/6pjfo/injustice-2-review-netherrealm-at-its-finest https://www.gameskinny.com/6pjfo/injustice-2-review-netherrealm-at-its-finest Wed, 17 May 2017 11:10:33 -0400 Synzer

Injustice 2 continues the DC-based fighter franchise with plenty of additions to keep fans and newcomers busy. More than your average fighting game, even people unfamiliar with the genre can have a great time with this game. The starting roster is huge at 28 fighters, with 9 more characters coming in DLC.

There have also been great additions such as the gear system, which I have already spent several hours tinkering with. NetherRealm, the developer of Mortal Kombat, has proven once again that comic book characters fighting each other is top-tier entertainment.

What I Loved

I have to put the story at the front of this review because that is not something you usually praise about a fighting game. Injustice 2 has a fantastic story that made me want to play until it was finished. Each battle was entertaining, and I feel like they paced the game well by not having too long to wait between fights.

It was also nice to earn rewards for the fighters that you play during the story, so I was still gaining things I could use once it was over. There are times when you can choose between 2 characters, which slightly alters how you see the story. I won't give any spoilers, but you will need to play through more than once if you want the full experience.

That said, there were certain times and characters that didn't seem to fit and felt more like they just wanted to justify them being in the game -- but overall it was a great experience.

Gear and Character Progression

injustice 2 poison ivy gear

This is my absolute favorite part of the game. I'm an RPG fan, so I love to customize and progress my characters. The extent that you can do that in this game was a surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one.

There are countless combinations of gear that can greatly change your characters, and will also change the way they look. You can even choose to Transform a piece of gear to look like another piece if you want a specific look of one piece while keeping the stats of another.

Of course you don't have to worry about these advantages in Ranked, and you can choose to play without them in private matches.

Characters also level up, so you benefit from sticking with a character until you master them.

Guilds and Multiverse

The guild system is another great addition to the game. You can create and join guilds with other players and work together to complete specific challenges. You can earn Guild Credits to buy Mother Boxes for loot, earn trophies to get more money, and rank up the guild to unlock EXP boosts and more. This system really makes you feel even more connected to your friends as you play the game.

The multiverse is also fun and allows you play with some unique modifiers. It is the main means of leveling your character, so I'm glad its enjoyable enough that the grind won't be completely tedious.

injustice 2 guild

A.I. Battle Simulator

I was not expecting to like this mode as much as I did, but it is surprisingly fun. You can set up a team of your characters to fight another player's team with full A.I. control.

You can gain rewards whether you win or lose, but it is much better if you win. There is a cap of how much you can earn daily, but it is also helpful just watching the A.I. fight at times. I actually learned a few things about my character by watching these fights.

What I Didn't Like

Just like any game with RNG, the gear system can get frustrating at times. After rolling the 12th piece of gear for a character I did not play, I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get Harley Quinn gear.

Luckily, you can sell gear you don't need, which allows you to buy even more Mother Boxes. There are also times when the Multiverse will have a world that gives gear to a specific character, so look out for those.

Speaking of multiverse, the modifiers mixed with the amazingly good A.I. gets ridiculous at times. You might find yourself frustrated more than usual on some of these fights, so prepare yourself.

The Verdict

Injustice 2 is a definite buy if you are a fighting game fan, or even a fan of DC. It has all you want in a fighting game and more. Even if you are new, it is worth trying out to see how the gear and multiverse system affects the game. The good story is also a bonus, and I never thought I'd be able to say that about a fighting game.

You can purchase Injustice 2 for PS4 or Xbox One at $59.99.

Review: Injustice 2 Mobile Isn't Quite a Flawless Victory, But It's Really Close https://www.gameskinny.com/0d2km/review-injustice-2-mobile-isnt-quite-a-flawless-victory-but-its-really-close https://www.gameskinny.com/0d2km/review-injustice-2-mobile-isnt-quite-a-flawless-victory-but-its-really-close Mon, 15 May 2017 17:07:54 -0400 Capt. Eliza Creststeel

When Injustice: Gods Among Us came out for consoles, the mobile version could have just as easily been a tie-in product to promote one of the biggest fighting games on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Wii U. But with amazing Unreal Engine graphics, quick action, and deep gameplay, Injustice became a mainstay on phones and tablets for nearly four years.

And now to coincide with the console release of Injustice 2, NetherRealms Studios has its mobile app cousin.

Parts Ain't Broke, So Don't Fix'em

In the same vein as what you'll remember from Injustice: Gods Among Us, this new Injustice game brings back the familiar fighting action with quick tag-in teammates. The DC Universe is well represented here, with old favorite heroes like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman, plus villains like The Joker and Harley Quinn.

Like before, you fight your way through the single player challenges, with the option to take on other player teams in the PVP Arena. As you earn experience, you can upgrade your roster's base ability, their special moves, and personalized gear.

Your Kung-Fu is Strong

What has changed first and foremost with Injustice 2 is the fighting mechanic. In the original Injustice: Gods Among Us, you'd tap for a basic attack, swipe for a heavy attack, and hold to block. Then you'd build up to your special attacks -- and for many players, it was easy to get into a rhythm... maybe a little too easy.

Injustice 2 feels even more like a console fighting game now, because they've added a whole new dimension with character movement. You can swipe left to back up or flee attacks. Swipe right to lunge into your opponent or pursue. Down swipes perform a low attack, while swiping up performs an aerial assault.

You still hold to block and tap for quick attacks -- but now it's not just tap, tap, block, swipe, swipe, block etc. You have to change up your strategy and be ready for whatever the opposition brings. Old school Injustice players might be a little thrown at first. But I really welcomed this improvement.

And of course, the roster has grown. Characters like Dr. Fate, Gorilla Grodd, and Black Canary have joined the fray. You can be sure more will be coming later as the game grows.

Something I really dig is the addition of nameless thugs on the enemy side. And the baddies aren't limited to just 3 member tag teams. You might be facing 3, 4, even 5 or MORE enemies -- which can totally change your tactics.

Look at All the Goodies!

Injustice 2 showers you with upgrades, gear, and loot. Each character's special moves can be improved, special abilities can be unlocked and reset, and customizable outfits or objects can be added to your fighters as well.

Unlike the original game, where you bought a new character outright, you can find or earn shards to upgrade or unlock new fighters -- similar to DC Legends. There are other ways to increase your roster as well.

Another feature similar to DC Legends is the SIM cards, which let you repeat battles for extra loot without having to spend the time to actually fight them. Of course, you have to unlock the battle the old-fashioned way first.

Besides fighting single-player campaigns and duking it out in multiplayer, NetherRealms gives your team plenty to do. You can send unused team fighters on Operation Missions. These allow you to get experience while finding more coins and potential gear items.

And Now Our Feature Presentation...

If you played the console version of Injustice: Gods Among Us, you'll remember the single-player Story Mode. It followed various characters from Earth 1 as they encountered their Regime or Insurgency doppelgangers and tried to set the multi-verse back to normal.

This mode featured one-on-one battles, and you played whichever character was in the story for that chapter. Which was a pretty cool cinematic experience.

Injustice 2 brings this portion of the console game to the mobile app -- and it's gorgeous. Players get to see full-on cinematic animation leading into fights, then picking up for the next chapter. And since you can't use your own roster of fighters, it's not as easy as you'd think.

The new story picks up with Supergirl's origins and her journey to Earth, as it also recaps how Superman went all world-domination-y after Lois' death.

Getting Some Justice

Take it from an old-school gamer, who grew up playing NetherRealm's original Mortal Kombat games -- this team just keeps topping itself. And Injustice 2 is another achievement. The only thing holding me back from a perfect 10 review is that I did encounter some staggers or pauses in game play.

The Android phone I use is barely a year old with plenty of storage space, so the handful of inconvenient times the game froze on me were a little frustrating. So keep in mind that such a powerful app will need a top-end device to play properly. I'm hoping the performance issue is addressed in future releases.

Like the original mobile game, Injustice 2 is completely free to download and play, but it offers micro-transactions to help jump start your fight roster or get that one character you really, really want. You can pick it up now on Google Play and iTunes.

With only a few days left to go before gamers can get their hands on Injustice 2, the next big release from Netherrealm Studios, the developer has released a beefy new trailer packed full of goodies.

The trailer gives us a sneak peek of the game's story mode, as well as a number of other modes, including a Multiverse mode. In the same vein as the towers mode from Mortal Kombat X, this mode takes players through hourly, daily, and weekly challenges that add modifiers to Injustice 2's gameplay. Ranking up increases player rewards, but it also increases the challenge.

On top of that, up to 50 people can form their very own guild to gain extra rewards. Guilds will be able to climb the leaderboards, gain experience faster, and earn exclusive rewards packages.

The final addition is Injustice 2's mobile experience. This allows players to play the game via their phones -- with all of the gear from the main game, alongside extra rewards. Unlocking character shards also gives players access to brand new talents, expanding the playability of Injustice 2.

Injustice 2 launches on May 16th. Will you be picking it up? Let us know your thoughts on the game in the comments below!

Today, Netherrealms Studio announced that Doctor Fate will be the next fighter to join Injustice 2.

Doctor Fate first appeared in DC Comics in 1940. Also known as Kent Nelson, Doctor Fate is Earth's sorcerer supreme in the DC Universe. In his character reveal trailer, we see him battling Superman after being tasked to bring order and peace.

The doctor's trademark is his golden helmet, which also serves as the source of his powers. In the comics and his brief animated appearances, he normally joins up with other DC heroes to face a great threat. He often serves as a guide to help those fellow heroes spiritually as well.

He's also the go-to guy for stopping demons, the occult, supernatural forces, and so forth. While it's not clear yet how this will work in Injustice 2, we do know that Doctor Fate wields magic which can harm Superman and other Kryptonians.

DC Comic book fans and fighting game fans can look forward to Injustice 2 when it releases this May.

Today, NetherRealm studios revealed Black Canary as a playable character for its upcoming game Injustice 2. A new gameplay trailer releases alongside the announcement showcases this metahuman heroine's abilities and powers.

Fans of the CW show Arrow will recognize this character, and her addition to the game continues to acknowledge the popularity of the DC superhero dramas. Black Canary (aka Laurel Lance) is a vigilante from Starcity who's known to fight street level crime. She is also recognized as one of the best hand-to-hand combatants among heroes. She posses the power to generate ultrasonic vibrations whenever she screams, which can damage both organic and inorganic objects. This is known as the Canary Cry, and it's used as her ultimate move in the teaser trailer.

In both comics and TV over the years, Black Canary has also served as a mentor to younger heroes. The trailer also makes a nod to that fact, as she speaks to Jamie Reyes aka Blue Beetle.

Fans of fighting games, DC comics, and DC TV/film can look forward to Injustice 2's release this May.

Injustice (Mobile) - Rebirth Raven Challenge Mode https://www.gameskinny.com/jecq9/injustice-mobile-rebirth-raven-challenge-mode https://www.gameskinny.com/jecq9/injustice-mobile-rebirth-raven-challenge-mode Sat, 24 Dec 2016 07:00:01 -0500 Capt. Eliza Creststeel

Azarath... Metrion...ZINTHOS!

Christmas is here and players of Injustice: Gods Among Us get to unwrap a new Challenge Mode gift.

Rebirth Raven is a potent addition with a powerful new passive ability, Demonic Pact. As Raven tags in, she power-drains her opponent (if they have more power built-up that she does).

And when she's teamed with the other Rebirth characters (like Wally West and Jessica Cruz), she will get triple energy per critical hit.

Daddy's Little Girl

For each set of battles you win, you get a piece of Rebirth Raven's wardrobe (Blades, Cloak, Belt, Hood, Feather). If you complete all five challenges, then Raven joins your Injustice coven (Collection).

There are 63 battles ahead of you, so here's this pirate Amazon's tips:

  • Challenge 1: Bronze Characters Only -- Many Bronze characters, like Green Lantern, Deathstroke, Nightwing or Flash, have great 2nd attacks.
  • Challenge 2:  Black Adam Must Be On Your Team -- Adam's base ability to turn enemy attacks back on themselves when he tags in makes him great in the second slot. And his first attack, Electric Burst, can be very effective.
  • Challenge 3: Bronze or Silver Characters Only -- Many Bronze characters at high levels can compete with Silvers thought I love Silver Bane and Doomsday for the 2nd Level Attacks.
  • Challenge 4: Harley Quinn Must Be On Your Team -- The psycho girlfriend is a good support character at all levels, including the new Suicide Squad version. All versions have solid 1st level attacks, though I'm never been a fan of her Bag of Tricks 2nd Attack.
  • Challenge 5:  Lex Luthor Be On Your Team -- Lex is primarily a power drainer with decent 2nd level attacks. Put him up front or bring him to rob the AI of their big attacks. Fortunately, there are Bronze, Silver and Gold versions of him out there.
A Little Something for Your Superhero Stocking

Remember, you don't need to complete all the challenges to win something. There are still goodies to be had by just trying your best.

  • 24 Fights Won -- Free Bronze Booster Pack (worth 8,000 credits)
  • 36 Fights Won -- +15,000 Power Credits
  • 48 Fights Won -- Free Silver Booster Pack (worth 35,000 credits)

NOTE: This Challenge Mode ends Jan. 5th.

Titans GO!

For those who aren't fans of what Cartoon Network has done with the Teen Titans, Benjamin Percy and Jonboy Meyers used The Rebirth series to take the Titans in a whole new direction.

Now being led by Damien Wayne's Robin, the old members are getting some makeovers. Like this new version of Raven.

But, she's still the daughter of a demon (Trigon) and still dealing with keeping her emotion in check so she can control her immense magical powers.

This incarnation of Rachel Roth will be a welcome addition to the Rebirth series of Injustice characters.

As always, Injustice: Gods Among Us is FREE-TO-PLAY. Download your copy from iTunes and Google Play.

What would you like to see added to Injustice in 2017? Are you excited for the new Injustice 2 console game coming out next year?

Injustice (Mobile) - Breakthrough Mode and Jessica Cruz Challenge https://www.gameskinny.com/75n05/injustice-mobile-breakthrough-mode-and-jessica-cruz-challenge https://www.gameskinny.com/75n05/injustice-mobile-breakthrough-mode-and-jessica-cruz-challenge Sat, 10 Dec 2016 10:18:21 -0500 Capt. Injustice: Gods Among Us premiered as a mobile app in 2013 and it's still going strong, even while fighting game fans of the console version wait for the release of Injustice 2.

However, it has been some time since a major update, back when Survival Mode and Augmentations were introduced. After three years of super hero combat, many players have maxed out a lot of their characters and may be hitting the wall. Well, it's time to break through that wall!

Breakthrough is a special challenge where players can win a chance to promote a character beyond the Elite VII and Level 50 maximums. You just have to beat Ares. You know, the God of War!

Tear Down This Wall!

To begin, select the Breakthrough option at the top of the screen.

This will bring up the Team Selection menu. The Breakthrough Challenges cycle, so it could be a Bronze Breakthrough, a Silver or a Gold.

Select ONLY characters that are maxed out (Level 50 AND Elite VII). At least one of them must not have already been promoted.

You'll face three battles vs. AI teams chosen to take you down. The final battle is a Boss Battle against Ares. Beware! This Boss Version of Ares has an INSTANT KO ability - RAGE.

There's one chance to protect yourself, when you see Ares power it up. Time your block, but you have to nail it exactly. But, it's not impossible.

If victorious in battle, you can then select one character on the team to be promoted to a new higher level. Characters max out at Elite 10. Good luck.

Rebirth Jessica Cruz Challenge!

Power Ring

A crime victim who was once forced to wear the villainous Ring of Volthoom, Jessica Cruz would later free herself of its control and become a Green Lantern. Now, you have a chance to add her to your Injustice: Gods Among Us roster.

This new Green Lantern is based on Jessica Cruz from the Rebirth storyline. She has a new ability (Lantern's Might), which gives an added 2nd Level attack for each Lantern character on her team (Hal Jordan, John Stewart and even Green Lantern Sinestro).

Unlike the Turbine Smash 1st level attack wielded by Hal Jordan and John Stewart, Jessica has a new, but similar Battering Ram strike, with her unique second attack power being Getting The Hang of This, a series of Lantern ring-powered blows and strikes.

Beware My Power!

Complete all five challenges to add Rebirth Jessica Cruz to your roster, and then you can later attempt the more challenging Expert version, or maybe try for Nightmare level.

For each set of battles you win, you get a part of Jessica's Green Lantern gear (Emblem, Gloves, Ring, Boots, and Eye Patch). Once you have won all five challenges, a Gold Level Jessica Cruz is added to your collection.

And, you don't have to complete all of the battles to win prizes:

  • 24 Fights Won - Free Bronze Booster Pack (worth 8,000 credits)
  • 36 Fights Won - +15,000 Power Credits
  • 48 Fights Won - Free Silver Booster Pack (worth 35,000 credits)

This Challenge Mode runs until Thursday, December 22nd.

Eye Patch on the Prize

Here's some of our tips for conquering all 63 battles needed to win.

  • Challenge 1: Bronze Characters Only - We're big fans of an energy drainer like Luthor or Nightwing to deflect and build power, then Green Lantern for his Rocket Barrage or Deathstroke for Full Auto.

  • Challenge 2:  Flash Must Be On Your Team - Injustice has a number of Flash characters you can choose from, like Bronze Prime, New 52, Elseworld, Metahuman, Reverse and new Wally West. All Flash characters have the Lightning Kick first attack, and the only real downside is most second attacks for Flash characters tend to be easier to block.

  • Challenge 3: Bronze or Silver Characters Only - Similar to Challenge 1. Use Nightwing or Luthor to drain and use silver Bane's great 2nd attack.

  • Challenge 4:  Sinestro Must Be On Your Team - All of four versions of Sinestro have Death From Above, which is a strong first attack. Also, they all receive a passive bonus when an opponent tags out, so you could bring him in against a weakened enemy who will retreat.

  • Challenge 5: Superman Must Be On Your Team - The only real downside here is that since ALL Superman characters are Gold, you either have to buy one or find one in Gold packs. His Flying Punch first attack is always a good solid strike.
Rebirth

In 1994, DC Comics made the decision to remove Hal Jordan as the primary Green Lantern character. They replaced him with Kyle Rayner.

The Rebirth story resurrected Hal Jordan after he had become the villain Parallax.  He again assumed his place as Earth's Green Lantern.

Hal named Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz new protectors of Earth, so the Rebirth version of her has been added to the roster. The Injustice update 2.13 also added a Rebirth version of The Flash (Wally West) and Raven.

Are there other Green Lantern characters you would love to see in Injustice like Guy Gardener or Kilowog?

UPDATE - Injustice (Mobile) - Blackest Night Batman Challenge Mode https://www.gameskinny.com/uwiva/update-injustice-mobile-blackest-night-batman-challenge-mode https://www.gameskinny.com/uwiva/update-injustice-mobile-blackest-night-batman-challenge-mode Thu, 24 Nov 2016 23:28:59 -0500 Capt. Holy Second Helping, Batman!

To go along with all the leftover turkey, reheated stuffing and uneaten sweet potatoes this holiday weekend, NetherRealm Studios has brought back a special Injustice: Gods Among Us Challenge Mode!

The Blackest Knight returns! Following their Halloween Blackest Night Hawkgirl event, Injustice brings back the resurrected walking corpse of Batman from the Blackest Night story arc.

Challenge of the Undead

NetherRealms scoops up a familiar five-course serving of superhero fisticuffs!

For each set of battles you win, you get a part of Black Lantern Batman's gear (Cowl, Utility Belt, Black Lantern Ring, Gauntlet, Batarang)If you win all five challenges, then the Gold Level Blackest Night Batman is added to your collection.

Here's some leftover Thanksgiving tips for fighting the rehashed 63 battles needed to win your Blackest Night Batman.

  • Challenge 1: Bronze Characters Only - An energy drainer like Luthor or Nightwing first can deflect and help your tanks build power, like Green Lantern with Rocket Barrage or Deathstroke for Full Auto.
  • Challenge 2:  Catwoman Must Be On Your Team - Selina Kyle's primary attack is the damage over time Cat Claws. Silver Catwoman's 2nd Attack - Cat Scratch is quite potent. Of course, if you happen to have Batman Returns Catwoman, so much the better.
  • Challenge 3: Bronze or Silver Characters Only - Like Challenge 1, use a power drainer like Nightwing or Luthor, and silver Cyborg's Power Fist is a powerful 2nd attack.
  • Challenge 4: Nightwing Must Be On Your Team - With three Nightwing characters, nearly everyone has one. All three have Ground Sparks to drain opponents and give teammates time to build up power.
  • Challenge 5:  Joker Must Be On Your Team - All original Jokers have Bang!, which is a strong first attack. Their second attacks are all Damage Over Time. Team him with a tank like Bane or Doomsday and a Harley Quinn, if you have one.
Didn't Clean Your Plate?

Remember, you don't need to complete all the challenges to win something. There's still goodies to be had by just trying your best.

  • 24 Fights Won - Free Bronze Booster Pack (worth 8,000 credits)
  • 36 Fights Won - +15,000 Power Credits
  • 48 Fights Won - Free Silver Booster Pack (worth 35,000 credits)

You have until Dec. 8th to re-heat this classic dish.

Bring Back Your Dead! Bring Back Your Dead!

The Blackest Night series of DC comics created a story arc of the Black Lanterns, who were resurrecting dead superheroes and villains into a growing army that threatened to engulf the universe.

In both the mobile and console editions of Injustice: Gods Among Us, there have been several Blackest Night versions of popular DC heroes and villains.

Want a real Black Friday deal?

Injustice is always FREE-TO-PLAY from iTunes and Google Play.

Who's your favorite Blackest Night Character? Hawkgirl? Doomsday?

Which Injustice character would you like to see added to the Black Lantern Corps?

The Dead Shall Rise

All Hallow's Eve is now upon us as is Mexico's Day of the Dead. What a perfect time for another new member of the sinister Black Lantern Corps to emerge from the darkness.

This special version of Hawkgirl has a new ability (Necrotic Lifeforce) which gives her health back if ANYONE in the battle is knocked out. And it can even resurrect any of her Blackest Night team members if they were already down.

An ability like that makes her a perfect tag-team partner for any of the other Black Lantern Corp. members.

A new second attack power Nth Blackness, a series of Necron-powered blows and mace smashes, has also been added.

This Challenge Mode runs until Friday, November 11th.

Taste the Mace!

Complete all five challenges to add Hawkgirl to your roster, and you can attempt a more challenging Expert version, then go for Nightmare level.

For each set of battles you win, you get a part of Shayera's gear (Mace, Boots, Buckle, Ring, and Helmet). Once you have won all five challenges, a Gold Level Hawkgirl is added to your collection.

But, you don't have to complete all of the battles to win a prize:

  • 24 Fights Won - Free Bronze Booster Pack (worth 8,000 credits)
  • 36 Fights Won - +15,000 Power Credits
  • 48 Fights Won - Free Silver Booster Pack (worth 35,000 credits)
The Best Laid Plans

Here's some tips for conquering the 63 battles needed to win your Blackest Night Hawkgirl.

  • Challenge 1: Bronze Characters Only - Use an energy drainer like Luthor or Nightwing up front to deflect and build power, then Green Lantern for his Rocket Barrage or Deathstroke for Full Auto.
  • Challenge 2:  Batman Must Be On Your Team - The only downside here is that ALL Batman characters are Gold. So, if you don't have him yet, you're going to have to cough up some heavy credits. Their basic first attack Explosive Batrang isn't that powerful but can stun for a better follow-up. The Insurgency Batman's Lunge Kick is quite potent.
  • Challenge 3: Bronze or Silver Characters Only - This is similar to Challenge 1. Use Nightwing or Luthor to drain, and silver Bane has a great 2nd attack.
  • Challenge 4:  Joker Must Be On Your Team - All of the original Jokers have Bang!, which is a strong first attack. Their second attacks are all Damage Over Time. Team him with a tank like Bane or Doomsday and a Harley Quinn, if you have one.
  • Challenge 5: NIghtwing Must Be On Your Team - The plus side is that there three Nightwing characters and nearly everyone has one. All three have Ground Sparks to drain opponents and give his teammates time to build up their own attacks.
The Darkness Grows

With the release of Blackest Night Hawkgirl, the ranks of the Black Lanterns becomes even more powerful.

Blackest Night Martian Manhunter power drains. Blackest Night Doomsday and Blackest Night Batman's strength and damage grow as their opponents weaken.

Combining any of them with Blackest Night Hawkgirl will make a very dangerous team, since her basic ability can REVIVE other Blackest Night characters.

The console versions of Injustice: Gods Among Us released two Blackest Night Skin Packs. So far, the Blackest Night versions of The Flash, Aquaman, and Superman have NOT appeared on the mobile version. Yet.

Which Injustice character would you love to see a Blackest Night version of? Are there other special versions of your favorite DC characters that NetherRealms should add to Injustice?

It seems like a spooky tradition for the mobile version of Injustice: Gods Among Us to offer a Challenge Mode featuring a Blackest Night version of a popular character -- starting with a Blackest Night Batman in 2013.

...The Dead Shall Rise

In 2009, DC released a mini-series featuring Green Lantern, the Green Lantern Corp. and the Justice League focusing on a corps of Black Lanterns.

They were resurrecting fallen members of the Green Lantern Corp and later members of the Justice League into a powerful force that could have potentially destroyed the universe.

This version of Blackest Night Martian Manhunter first appeared in the series when Flash and Hal Jordan went to check on the grave of Bruce Wayne.

A.K.A. J'onn J'onzz

This special version of Martian Manhunter first appeared in a Halloween time challenge last year. Unlike the Prime version of Martian Manhunter, this Blackest Night variation has a basic ability called Shifter, which cycles through several offensive buffs.

He also has a different 2nd level attack, Soul Survivor, which is a series of shape-shifting strikes. J'onn also has a strong starting health and a decent power rating.

Shifting Into Shape

Earning Martian Manhunter means overcoming of a series of five challenges. Complete them all, and you can attempt a more challenging Expert version, then go for Nightmare level. You only have until Thursday, October 20th!

For each set of battles you win, you get a part of J'onn's gear (Boots, Medallion, Ring, Emblem and Cape). Once you have won all five challenges, a Gold Level Martian Manhunter is added to your collection.

The Next Phase

The following are a few tips on what you're in for, but feel free to try your own tactics:

  • Challenge 1: Bronze Characters Only - Use Nightwing or Luthor up front to deflect and drain and bronze Deathstroke for his special attacks.
  • Challenge 2:  Cyborg Must Be On Your Team - The bronze and silver Cyborgs have weak 1st attacks, but silver Cyborg's Power Fist is WHOMP.
  • Challenge 3: Bronze or Silver Characters Only - This is similar to Challenge 1. Use Nightwing or Luthor to drain, and silver Bane has a great 2nd attack.
  • Challenge 4: Sinestro Must Be On Your Team - All of the Sinestros' 'Death from Above' attacks are pretty strong. If you have him, Gold Green Lantern Sinestro's 2nd attack is quite potent.
  • Challenge 5: Lex Luthor Must Be On Your Team - With Lex being a power-drainer, it's best to back him up with a heavy hitter. Or, keep silver Lex in reserve to power up his bigger attacks.
Time Is Short

Unlike most Challenge Modes, which last about 3 weeks, this special holiday challenge ends on Thursday, Oct. 20th. So don't wait too long, or this ghastly version of Martian Manhunter will phase out until next Halloween.

Any special tips you can give fellow Injustice players on how to beat the Challenge Mode? Let us know!

Injustice 2 to have bigger roster than last Mortal Kombat through DLC https://www.gameskinny.com/hkjz6/injustice-2-to-have-bigger-roster-than-last-mortal-kombat-through-dlc https://www.gameskinny.com/hkjz6/injustice-2-to-have-bigger-roster-than-last-mortal-kombat-through-dlc Wed, 22 Jun 2016 14:41:33 -0400 TheSmartestMoron

During an interview with IGN, Creative Director of NetherRealm Studios, Ed Boon, talked about Injustice 2. Rather than explain about the game's current roster and who would be on it, he discussed how he wants to expand the roster by making it bigger through DLC.

"One of the things we’ve been doing, trying to do more and more with every game… is to support it for a longer period of time," Boon told IGN. "With DLC characters, we’ve had four with Mortal Kombat, six with Injustice, eight with Mortal Kombat X, and with Injustice 2 we plan on continuing that pattern," he added, noting "it will certainly be more aggressive than we’ve been in the past."

Retrieved via IGN

Currently, the game is set to have a few returning characters from the previous game, such as Superman, Flash, Batman, and Aquaman. New characters revealed in a gameplay trailer were Supergirl, the Red Lantern Atrocitus, and Gorilla Grodd.

There is also a new armor mechanic set to not only make characters stronger and change appearance, but even give new moves as well. Ed Boon stated how "...the purpose of this feature is customization, longevity and ongoing molding of your character so to speak."

Injustice 2 is currently in development by NetherRealm Studios, and set for release in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

In a recent interview, Ed Boon, the co-creator of NetherRealm Studios, let it slip that Wonder Woman will be piloting her invisible jet into the recently leaked Injustice 2.

"On my way to NetherRealm Studios!"

During a talk with Game Informer about possible DLC costumes that tied into the number of superhero movies that have been coming out recently, Boon stated,  "I think it would be a missed opportunity if we didn’t do like a Wonder Woman movie skin or something like that."

Along with Wonder Woman, a Justice League movie is already in the works, so we could possibly see other kinds of DLC costumes that are companions to the characters' Hollywood counterparts.

The rest of the interview includes an interesting discussion of Injustice 2's "gear system". Gear are pieces of random equipment which drop for players and provide enchantments for the character's which they apply to.

Including character altering items in fighting games is a tricky subject in the Fighting Game Community. Street Fighter X Tekken's gem system left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths, and it will be interesting how players react to Injustice 2's "gear".

Prepare for frostbite because next week Mortal Kombat XL will be coming out.

WB Games is re-releasing Mortal Kombat X but making it bigger and better with Mortal Kombat XLMortal Kombat X was a very popular game in 2015 and was lorded as the most brutal "kombat" experience ever. More blood, more fatalities, more brutalities, and more characters.

On March 1st, 2016 WB Games will release Mortal Kombat XLMortal Kombat XL will be available on Xbox One and PS4, but not on PC. The game includes the base game (Mortal Kombat X) and both DLC Kombat packs. Mortal Kombat XL is meant for those who do not already have Mortal Kombat X, but who want to get their hands on absolutely everything.

The game will come with new playable characters, plus previously released characters. New characters include: Alien, Leatherface, Triborg, and Bo'Rai Cho. (That's right, from THE Alien. They are a Xenomorph spliced with Baraka's DNA. Beware the blades.)

So get your Drunken Fist ready, but try not to get your Puke Puddle on your consoles.

Could Mortal Kombat X on PC lose Multiplayer Support? https://www.gameskinny.com/iq42k/could-mortal-kombat-x-on-pc-lose-multiplayer-support https://www.gameskinny.com/iq42k/could-mortal-kombat-x-on-pc-lose-multiplayer-support Wed, 20 Jan 2016 18:41:45 -0500 David B Knight

In a move that is sure to ire many of its fans, NetherRealm Studios announced today that it's two newest expansions for Mortal Kombat X will only be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Suspiciously missing from this bad news is any information on when or if the PC version will also receive the long-awaited update to its faulty netcode, which has plagued online multiplayer since the game's release.

It has almost been a year since the rocky launch of NetherRealm's PC port version of MKX, and the game is mostly stable now - as long as you don't want to go online and battle with a friend. Every iteration of MKX has suffered from the faulty netcode that has made online play near impossible since its release. NetherRealm Studio's has promised a fix however, and the Enhanced Online Beta signups are live now, if you play on a console. Once again the PC version is oddly left out, and any attempts for clarification as to why left in silence.

It's this odd silence that is making the PC users wonder whether or not the PC version of MKX will even receive the new enhanced netcode at all. With online options becoming more of a standard throughout the industry, the incapability to do so based on a faulty product can only enrage an already marginalized fanbase that has many already asking for refunds.
