A tier list of all Unicorn Overlord classes, ranked from best to worst.

There are 20 base classes in Unicorn Overlord, which can be promoted during battles. Here, I’ll share my tier list of all Unicorn Overlord classes, ranked from best to worst, including their biggest strengths and weaknesses.

Unicorn Overlord S-Tier Classes

The five best classes in the game offer the largest number of benefits, with only a few weak points that don’t impact the game too much.

Gryphon Knight– Highly efficient evasive skills.
– Performs powerful aerial attacks while flying on the Gryphon bird.
– Excellent defensive abilities against magic attacks.
– Enhanced survivability.
– Melee-focused class with limited range.
– Can take substantial damage from ranged attacks.
Sellsword– Has access to the Summon Warriors skill, which allows them to summon allied mercenary units to help in battles.
– Has access to a wide range of other skills, including damage buffs, bombarding enemies with arrows, and healing allies.
– Makes leveling up faster and more efficient.
– Relies heavily on Valor Points.
– Slightly unbalanced class with limited promotion capabilities.
Thief– Dodges enemy attacks more effectively.
– Steals from enemies, allowing them to acquire valuable items, equipment, and resources during battles.
– Can debuff enemies and serve as scouts due to their high mobility.
– Has lower defense compared to other classes.
– Limited offensive abilities.
Shaman– Debuffs enemy stats, reducing their damage output.
– Easily adapts to different battle situations.
– Benefits from being positioned in the back row.
– Synergizes with recruitable Shaman mercenaries.
– Limited offensive abilities.
– Not as effective against enemies that are less susceptible to debuff effects.
Witch– Effective against classes with low magic defense.
– Imbues ally attacks with magic.
– Synergizes with recruitable Witch mercenaries.
– Not effective against enemies with high magic defense.

Unicorn Overlord A-Tier Classes

The following eight classes are very good with only a few weaknesses, as they can benefit your party in the most efficient ways.

Wizard– Strong single-target DPS class.
– Effective against bosses and other high-priority targets.
– Deals magic damage.
– Vulnerable to physical damage.
– Ineffective against enemies with magic defense.
Lord– Adapts to different combat situations.
– Gains extra Valor Points after defeating enemy units.
– Has a variety of support skills.
– Has decent defensive capabilities.
– Limited damage output, healing, and utility skills.
– Valuable only as the party’s leader.
Feathersword– Boasts excellent evasive skills due to flying ability.
– Imbued with high magic defense.
– Performs better in daytime battles.
– Ineffective against anti-flying units.
– Offers subpar performance during nighttime batles.
Housecarl– Excellent physical attack capabilities.
– Has the ability to lower enemy’s physical defense.
– Delivers a follow-up strike after a battle.
– Low defense and lack of healing abilities.
– Perform well only if placed in the back row.
Paladin– Balance of offensive and defensive capabilities.
– Possesses healing abilities.
– Highly resilient in combat situations.
– Has limited offensive powers.
– Has slower mobility compared to more agile classes.
Knight– All-rounder that excels in offense and defense.
– Provides attack buffs to their allies.
– Possesses skills that are effective against flying enemies.
– Weak against enemies with anti-cavalry abilities.
– Limited offensive abilities.
Cleric– Provides healing and support to their allies.
– Increases ally defenses.
– Provides status ailment resistance.
– Synergizes with Hoplite and Gladiator.
– Limited offensive capabilities.
– More vulnerable to enemy attacks.
– Heavily rely on their teammates.
Crusader– Formidable fighter with high damage output.
– Valuable in battles against aerial enemies.
– Can be promoted to advanced classes, such as Valkyria.
– Vulnerable to enemies with anti-cavalry abilities.
– Reliance on balance in formation.

Unicorn Overlord B-Tier Classes

The final seven classes that I selected have lots of high-impact downsides, offering only a limited number of upsides.

Fighter– Effective against infantry enemies.
– Recovers HP after each battle.
– Vulnerable to sustained enemy attacks.
– Low defensive capabilities.
Gladiator– Can strike an entire enemy row.
– Able to self-heal.
– Vulnerable to sustained enemy attacks.
– Too reliant on positioning within the party for effective combat.
Hoplite– Vulnerable to area-of-effect spells.
– Vulnerable to crowd control attacks.
– Role limited to support only within the party.
– Ineffective against anti-armor attacks.
– Vulnerable to magic attacks.
– Has low mobility.
Hunter– Boasts excellent accuracy.
– Effective against such enemy types as Gryphon Riders, Swordfighters, and Wyvern Knights.
– Ineffective outside the back row positioning.
– Vulnerable to magic attacks.
– Hard to promote to advanced classes.
Priestess– Excels at healing and support skills.
– Effective against armored foes.
– Ineffective against other magic classes.
– Too reliant on team support to survive.
– Role limited to support only within the party.
Soldier– Offers balanced stats and good passives.
– Provides support and healing for other classes.
– Vulnerable to area-of-effect spells.
– Vulenrable to crowd control attacks.
– Role limited to support only within the party.
Warrior– Combines powerful attacks with high damage output.
– Recovers HP after each battle.
– Weak against enemies with anti-cavalry abilities.
– Has fewer utility skills and support abilities.
