How to Recruit Berengaria in Unicorn Overlord (& Get Her Back)

Find out how to recruit Berengaria in Unicorn Overlord and eventually bring her back.

Berengeria is a powerful character and ally who can recover HP and stamina much faster. But her story is quite complicated, and recruiting her can be quite a hard task. In my guide, I’ll explain how to recruit Berengaria in Unicorn Overlord and eventually bring her back.

Unicorn Overlord: Berengeria Recruitment Guide

After reaching the Drakenhold area, I can recruit Berengaria during “The General in Black” mission. But to get to the Drakenhold area, I need first to complete the final battle in Cornia. When that’s done, I’ll have two options: either I go to Drakenhold or to Elheim. Of course, I’d go to Elheim first, not only because of Berengaria but also because it’s easier to promote allies in this region than in Elheim, which takes a lot longer.

The Drakenhold region involves lots of carving quests, where I can find carvings of mythological beasts. These quests grant powerful weapons, and the area has lots of buried treasures with excellent materials. But once the Berengeria mission begins, I need to speak to Virginia and Leah. That’s when Berengaria can finally join my party as the Dark Marquess, carrying an Iron Axe and an Iron Greatshield.

However, after this, a strange event will occur when I recruit Aramis and Primm. Berengaria will be forced to flee the town in the southwestern direction. Here, I recommend capturing the Einsel Garrison beforehand. Deploy Alain to speak to Berengaria to keep her safe from harm. But unfortunately, this won’t be the end of it, and she’ll try to escape again.

How to Bring Berengaria Back in Unicorn Overlord

During the “Another Prince” quest, Balatros will interfere with the army, and this will trigger Berengaria to leave once again. Note that you’ll be able to bring Berengaria back only when you have fully completed the Drakenhold region questline.

You don’t have to do anything special but simply follow the story naturally until the “Heir of the Dragonlands” mission begins. In the end, Berengaria will rejoin your army on her own, but you’ll also have to fight her and win. That’s the only way to bring her back to your side again.

That’s all I wanted to tell you about how to recruit Berengaria for Unicorn Overlord. Stay tuned for more UO tips and tricks articles, including can you turn off Auto Battle? and should you execute or free Gammel?
