Baldur’s Gate 3: How Many Magic Items Does Gale Need?

When Gale reveals that he has to snack on magic items to keep his condition in check, you might be reluctant to part with your gear. Especially because it seems like he’s going to keep asking for them through the whole game. He doesn’t, though, he does have a limit. In this guide we’ll go over how many magic items Gale needs in Baldur’s Gate 3 before his companion quest moves to the next objective.

How Many Magic Items Does Gale Need in BG3?

It might seem like Gale is always asking for magic items to stabilize the orb within him, but you only need to give him a total of three magic items to move onto the next objective for his companion quest “The Wizard of Waterdeep.” Depending on what other quests you do in Act 1, you could end up grabbing magic items that are more useful being fed to Gale than they are as equipment.

One such item is the Staff of Crones, which damages the wielder as well as the creature being attacked. To the right of the wand, you’ll spot the Staff of Crones.

In the end, you only need to give Gale three items in Baldur’s Gate 3, so it isn’t a huge loss. Plus, it’s so early in the game that you probably have some magic items that aren’t going to be worth keeping in the long run.
