In Baldur’s Gate 3, part of Act 3’s main quest requires you to head to the Bhaalist Temple to face Orin the Red. However, getting to the temple involves taking a few steps beforehand, namely appearing in front of the Murder Tribunal. Here’s a rundown on how to find the Bhaalist Temple in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Find the Bhaalist Temple in Baldur’s Gate 3

The “Investigate the Murders” quest in Act 3 will lead you right to the Bhaalist Temple, although it doesn’t have to be done before you enter.

If you’re playing as the Dark Urge, this section of BG3 is particularly interesting. You’ll have access to unique dialogue options and you have a choice to make after you beat Orin. The route to the temple doesn’t have many enemies that you need to fight, but it helps to deal with Dolor and take his Bag of Hands before heading there.

Find the Murder Tribunal

From there, your first step is to go to Candulhallow’s Tombstones, which is a front for the Murder Tribunal. It’s located slightly northeast of the Elfsong Tavern, as seen in the image below.

In the room farthest from the door, there’s a painting on the wall. Your party members might point out something odd about it if they pass a Perception Check. Remove the painting, press the button behind it to shift the bookcase, and reveal your path to the Murder Tribunal.

The Door to the Bhaalist Temple

You need to speak with some NPCs to get access to the Bhaalist Temple. Dolor’s Bag of Hands becomes handy here as you can use them to get past the guards of the tribunal. Enter the room they’re guarding and get an amulet from the tribunal. This opens the door to the temple, which is located at the circled place on the map below. Show the amulet to the door, and you’ll be able to enter the temple.

While that’s how to find the Bhaalist Temple in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll need to be ready to fight because your trial begins as soon as you enter. The temple is featured on the menu screen, and the environmental design creates a great contrast to Baldur’s Gate, which sits above it.
