Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Get the Potent Robe

The Potent Robe is a great item to have for a spellcaster, but your decisions throughout the game so far could prevent you from getting it. Although the quest for it isn’t available until Act 2, your choices in Act 1 will decide if you’ll be able to pick it up. How to Get the Potent Robe in Baldur’s Gate 3

The most important requirement for getting the Potent Robe is having Alfira alive and at Last Light Inn. There are quite a few prerequisites that need to be met for you to start this quest, and if you’re playing as the Dark Urge, the first one will be saving Alfira from dying at your hands.

You’ll also want to help her complete her song in Act 1. Since you’ll need Alfira alive in Act 2, you have to side with the Tieflings and Druids in Act 1 as well. If you don’t and end up fighting her, use non-lethal damage. From there, you’ll move onto Act 2.

Take Alfira’s Quest at Last Light Inn

Alfira should be at Last Light Inn when you arrive in Act 2. Speak with her to pick up a quest to rescue the Tieflings who were taken to the Moonrise Towers during their journey out of the Emerald Grove. Remember: Alfira can’t die before you turn in this quest if you want to get the Potent Robe. Make sure you save Isobel during the attack on Last Light Inn since her capture means that Alfira will likely be killed.

Next, you’ll be tasked with infiltrating Moonrise Towers, and you can take this chance to help the captured Tieflings as well. From the room that you meet Ketheric in, head to the right, through the door, and down the stairs (X:-175, Y:-190) that you’ll find in the adjacent room to reach the prison. As you wander the prison, you’ll find a Gnome named Wulbren who has a plan.

Protect Larkrissa During the Escort Portion

Work with Wulbren to free him and the Tieflings, then you’ll need to protect them as they make their prison break. Specifically, you need to focus on keeping Larkrissa alive if you want the Potent Robe. After escorting the rescued to a boat they use to finish escaping, head back to Last Light Inn and speak with Alfira to get your reward.
