How to Open Necromancy of Thay in Baldur’s Gate 3

Opening the Necromancy of Thay requires getting a Dark Amethyst from the Whispering Depths. You can enter the Whispering Depths by going down the well in Blighted Village, which you’ll find near the house where the cellar is located that you just got Necromancy of Thay out of. I ended up attracting some Phase Spiders twice, but they’re generally easy to handle. I might’ve been overleveled for this section, however, because I went back after finishing the main conflict of Act 1. As such, your experience may vary.

The Dark Amethyst is going to be under the location where the Phase Spider Matriarch paces. The exact coordinates are (X:-557, Y:-357). Once you grab it, it’s easy to use a Waypoint to get to a safer location where you can start your study of Necromancy.
