How to Solve the Rosymorn Monastery Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Rosymorn Monastery puzzle gives you an item that’s used to obtain the legendary mace, the Blood of Lathander. However, the puzzle doesn’t give you many hints to get started.

Before you can start the puzzle, you need to find Rosymorn Monastery. It’s located in the Mountain Pass but not in the direction of the Shadow-cursed lands. So, you need to head north instead of west to find it. For reference, I’ve included an image of the map with the monastery circled. You can enter by climbing the roots near the Waypoint and jumping through a broken window. This entrance method will put you close to the puzzle room.

Find Any Mace

The Rosymorn Monastery puzzle room has a stained-glass mosaic on the floor and four pedestals, one of which has a sword on it. You’ll need to grab two Ceremonial Weapons and a mace for the remaining three pedestals. Any mace will do, but if you don’t have one on hand, you can pick one up at the monastery at (X:85, Y:30). Once you have it, place the mace on Dawnmaster Stockhold’s pedestal.

Get the Ceremonial Battleaxe

Then, you’ll need the Ceremonial Battleaxe and Ceremonial Warhammer. The Ceremonial Battleaxe is behind the Enchanted Door at (X:105, Y:45). You can lockpick the door, then break the barricade behind it. A Spirit Guardian is safeguarding the weapon, so you’ll need to kill it before you can grab the battleaxe. Ranged attacks work best here so you can avoid retaliation damage from the guardian. Once you defeat the Spirit Guardian, take the Ceremonial Battleaxe and put it on Dawnmaster Vaseid’s pedestal.

Get the Ceremonial Warhammer

The Ceremonial Warhammer is located in an eagle’s nest at (X:78, Y:41), and you can use vines outside of the puzzle room to climb up to the roof where the nest is located. You’ll need to send a stealthy companion to sneak up there and retrieve the weapon, or you can fight the eagles. If you fight, they’ll call for reinforcements, but the battle isn’t too difficult. The warhammer then goes on Dawnmaster Seed’s pedestal.

From here, you’ll head into the Githyanki Crèche for Lae’zel’s quest and to grab the Blood of Lathander.
