Strike your enemies with fury using our tier list guide of the best weapons in Bayonetta 3.

Each chapter in Bayonetta 3 story unlocks a new weapon for players to try out. Some of these weapons can be highly efficient on their own, while others are more useful when using their demon slaves.

Our guide will provide you with a tier list of the best weapons in Bayonetta 3. You will learn why these weapons have such high demand among players, and which masquerades are most useful.

S-Tier Weapons

Cruel Altea

  • Element: Ice.
  • Users: Bayonetta, Jeanne.

Freezing magic is extremely efficient, and this weapon allows Bayonetta to shoot ice laser and demolish everyone in her sights. Note that the laser is constant, which makes it easy to follow the target and eventually destroy it. You can also switch to an AoE mode, which fires an icy blue flame that covers a wider range.

Cruel Altea comes with a demon masquerade Labolas, who has sharp claws that hack and slash everything on its way. Activate this attack by holding left stick up and pressing “R” twice.

Abracadabra

  • Element: Thunder.
  • Users: Bayonetta, Bayonetta B4, Jeanne.

Many players may find a weapon that has no melee option a lackluster choice, but those who’ve tried Abracadabra were immensily surprised when they discovered just how effective magic projectiles of this weapon could be.

In order to increase the power of these projectiles Bayonetta can charge herself at the enemies. You can also use kick attack to make projectiles explode on impact for an even stronger effect.

If you summon a demon slave Mictlantecuhtli, then you can split your body in two halves avoiding damage. All you need to do is simply hold the jump button for this effect.

A-Tier Weapons

Ribbit Libido-BZ55

  • Element: Poison, Sound.
  • Users: Bayonetta, Jeanne, Jeanne B3.

Turning a microphone stand into a weapon turns out to be not only a cool idea but also highly practical.

Typically, it serves as a spear that hits an enemy using a punch attack, or damages all enemies around you when using a kick attack.

But it really comes to life when you amplify it with the Baal masquerade, when Bayonetta uses a microphone to amplify her voice and thus create an AoE soundwave attack. This can be achieved by pressing both left and right sticks down.

Simoon

  • Element: Wind.
  • Users: Bayonetta, Bayonetta B3, Jeanne.

One thing that can really help you deal with a swarm of enemies is a fast melee weapon, and Simoon would be a perfect choice in that case.

The bladed fans can be shot precisely in a long range and hit enemies without letting them anywhere near you.

If you transform into Malphas, then you can freely fly in the air and shoot enemies from above, making any combat into a walk in the park. The flying may take some getting used to, but once you master it there is a big chance that you will never change to another weapon.

B-Tier Weapons

Tartarus

  • Element: Demonic.
  • Users: Bayonetta, Rosa B4.

Tartarus is a close range melee weapon that can also act like a shield, preventing damage and bashing enemies.

But that’s not what makes Tartarus a good choice, it’s the masquerade Umbran Clock Tower, which is considered by many as the best demon salve in Bayonetta 3.

This form has a number of melee and ranged weapons that can be used all at the same time when performing the Deus Ex Machina combo by pressing both left and right sticks down.

Cassiopeia

  • Element: Water.
  • Users: Bayonetta, Jeanne, Dark Eve.

As a weapon, Cassiopeia functions like a crossbow with an anchor on a chain instead of arrows. But it can also use explosive bolts for longer range damage.

Unfortunately, in its original form, it is a rather slow weapon, albeit having a solid damage. But what makes Cassiopeia exciting is the Kraken masquerade.

Kraken allows players to fly in the sky and shoot enemies with ink projectiles, or hide underground avoiding damage, thus making the lives of your enemies miserable.

Colour My World

  • Element: Magic.
  • Users: Bayonetta.

The four three-barreled pistols Colour My World are the very first weapons that Bayonetta unlocks in the game, and they’re actually quite good and can serve you well throughout an entire game.

The best part about this weapon is, of course, the Madama Butterfly masquerade, which allows players to fly freely above the ground. It actually has a much better flight control than, for example, Malphas, which is imbued within the Simoon weapon.

Those are the best weapons in Bayonetta 3. For more tips, check out our guides on how to farm Haloshow to unlock all weapons in Bayonetta 3, how to complete Bite and Toss, how to complete Tricky Terrain, or how to solve the Train Puzzle.
