What are the Best Guns to Get in Palworld?

Palworld Assault Rifle

Assault rifles have the highest rate of fire of all Palword guns, which makes them the best choice if you’re looking to equip your pal with a firearm. No other weapon can compete with the Assault Rifle regarding overall damage output and range of fire.

There are five types of Assault Rifles that you can craft in Palworld, starting at Level 45 with at least 4 Tech points at the weapon assembly line:

  • Common Assault Rifle: 320 Damage, 3000 Durability, 20 Magazine
    • x40 Refined Ingots
    • x10 Polymers
    • x30 Carbon Fibers
  • Uncommon Assault Rifle: 400 Damage, 1500 Durability, 24 Magazine
    • x80 Refined Ingots
    • x20 Polymers
    • x60 Carbon Fibers
    • x5 Ancient Civilization Parts
  • Rare Assault Rifle: 448 Damage, 2000 Durability, 26 Magazine
    • x120 Refined Ingots
    • x30 Polymers
    • x90 Carbon Fibers
    • x10 Ancient Civilization Parts
  • Epic Assault Rifle: 512 Damage, 2500 Durability, 28 Magazine
    • x180 Refined Ingots
    • x45 Polymers
    • x135 Carbon Fibers
    • x20 Ancient Civilization Parts
  • Legendary Assault Rifle: 560 Damage, 3000 Durability, 30 Magazine
    • x270 Refined Ingots
    • x67 Polymers
    • x202 Carbon Fibers
    • x30 Ancient Civilization Parts

Pump-Action Shotgun

While you need an Assault Rifle in the open, once you get inside closed spaces like caves, there’s no better option than a Pump-Action Shotgun, which performs particularly well at close range. I argue that it’s better to use a melee weapon in my experience, but a shotgun provides a necessary distance from the enemies that may save your life in a pinch.

If you’ve reached Level 42 with at least 4 Tech points, you can craft the Pump-Action Shotgun at the weapon assembly line using these recipes:

  • Common Pump-Action Shotgun: 220 Damage, 150 Durability, 8 Magazine
    • x30 Refined Ingots.
    • x20 Polymers.
    • x40Carbon Fibers.
  • Uncommon Pump-Action Shotgun: 275 Damage, 250 Durability, 9 Magazine
    • x60 Refined Ingots.
    • x40 Polymers.
    • x80 Carbon Fibers.
    • x5 Ancient Civilization Parts.
  • Rare Pump-Action Shotgun: 308 Damage, 300 Durability, 10 Magazine
    • x90 Refined Ingots.
    • x60 Polymers.
    • x120 Carbon Fibers.
    • x10 Ancient Civilization Parts.
  • Epic Pump-Action Shotgun: 352 Damage, 350 Durability, 11 Magazine
    • x135 Refined Ingots.
    • x90 Polymers.
    • x180 Carbon Fibers.
    • x20 Ancient Civilization Parts.
  • Legendary Pump-Action Shotgun: 385 Damage, 400 Durability, 12 Magazine
    • x202 Refined Ingots.
    • x135 Polymers.
    • x270 Carbon Fibers.
    • x30 Ancient Civilization Parts.

Handgun

There are two types of pistols in Palworld: Handguns and Makeshift Handguns. The Handgun is a much better version of the two in my experience. It’s what I carry with me. Not only because it looks great, but also because of how it works. The firing rate is much faster, and the shot capacity is much larger than the Makeshift Handgun, so the choice is obvious.

You can already craft your first Handgun at Level 42 with at least 1 Tech point using a simple Weapon Workbench and the following recipes:

  • Common Handgun: 250 Damage, 400 Durability, 8 Magazine
    • x50 Ingots.
    • x15 High Quality Pal Oil.
  • Uncommon Handgun: 437 Damage, 600 Durability, 10 Magazine
    • x100 Ingots.
    • x30 High Quality Pal Oil.
    • x3 Ancient Civilization Parts.
  • Rare Handgun: 500 Damage, 800 Durability, 12 Magazine
    • x150 Ingots.
    • x45 High Quality Pal Oil.
    • x5 Ancient Civilization Parts.
  • Epic Handgun: 562 Damage, 1000 Durability, 14 Magazine
    • x225 Ingots.
    • x67 High Quality Pal Oil.
    • x7 Ancient Civilization Parts.
  • Legendary Handgun: 625 Damage, 1200 Durability, 16 Magazine
    • x337 Ingots.
    • x100 High Quality Pal Oil.
    • x14 Ancient Civilization Parts.

Double Barrel Shotgun

Although not as convenient as the Pump-Action Shotgun, the Double Barrel variant is a formidable weapon. It shoots both shells simultaneously, dealing twice as much damage at close range. I’ve never been able to test it myself, but I’ve seen many of my friends use it to devastating effect. Its chokes can extend the range of the shots, so be sure to try them out.

You can craft it after reaching Level 39 with at least 3 Tech points under your belt at the weapon assembly line using the only available recipe:

  • x30 Refined Ingots.
  • x7 Polymers.

Musket

The Musket is somewhere between the assault rifle and the shotgun. It has great range and deals lots of damage, but it can only shoot one bullet at a time, which isn’t too convenient. The reload time is also rather slow, but if you can hit your target the first time, then it’ll probably deal enough damage to take them down.

The good part is that you can craft Musket as soon as you reach Level 21 with at least 3 Tech points on the workbench using the only available recipe:

  • x25 Ingots.
  • x5 High Quality Pal Oil.
  • x30 Wood.

I hope my guide on the best guns and how to get them in Palworld helped you out. Stay tuned for more PW tips and tricks articles, including where to find all dungeon locations, and where to find all settlement locations.
