Best Shotguns in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 (Phantom Liberty), Ranked

Cyberpunk 2077 has some amazing weapons and here are the best shotguns in the game.

Shotguns are some of the most powerful weapons in Cyberpunk 2077. That’s true of the base game, as well as the game after 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion. While other guns might have a better time to kill at a distance, these deadly firearms devastate enemies at close range. Further, they provide some awesome modifiers that can increase crit chance or add elemental damage to their slugs. With that in mind, these are the best shotguns in Cyberpunk 2077.

With so many choices, it’s hard to pick the best shotgun in Cyberpunk 2077. From automatic variants to charged-up blunderbusses with two slugs in the chamber, figuring out which one to stick with is a tough task. Do you like DPS? Or do you prefer unleashing one lethal blow when you have your enemy in your sights? Whatever your playstyle, let’s dive into these top choices.

Order

Let’s start this list of best shotguns off with a newbie to the party, shall we? Order isn’t a new gun design itself, as it looks like any other DB-2 Satara you’ll find in the game. However, it has a very interesting iconic modifier. Charge this shotgun to full power, and you’ll instantly vaporize almost anything in front of you. Bosses still prove to be decent threats, but other enemies burst into red-colored ash. You can get Order from Dogtown’s resident gun salesman, Herold.

Alabai

The Alabai is another new shotgun in Phantom Liberty. It has a 10% chance of causing Burn, which can spread to other enemies and does more damage the more enemies you burn. It also maxes out with 15 rounds per reload. Adding to that effect, it has 85% headshot damage and 25% armor penetration. This monster of a shotgun can be found via airdrops around Dogtown. Sure, seeking them out can be a chore, but you’ll be very overpowered and very fast with Alabai. You deserve such a reward for your efforts.

Ba Xing Chong

Ba Xing Chong is Adam Smasher’s weapon of choice. It’s also a smart shotgun, which is quite the rarity in Cyberpunk 2077. It provides 500+ damage, has self-guided bullets, and carries a chance to dismember any enemy you fight. You also have a weapon mod slot, as well. Adding to that, Chemical, Electrical, and Physical damage is improved by 20-25%, increasing your chances of causing Burn, Poison, Shock, or Bleed every time you fire a bullet.

Not only is Ba Xing Chong the best shotgun in Cyberpunk 2077, but it’s possibly the best weapon in the game — period. You can get it after killing Adam Smasher. First, complete the side job called Chipin, a great side quest that illuminates Smasher’s history with Johnny and Rogue. You’ll also get Johnny’s gun here, and when you finish, you can get this shotgun on the Ebunlike Ship by killing Smasher, taking his keycard, and accessing his stash.

Mox

Mox is a weapon you receive from Judy after you’ve finished her questline. It’s one of the more unique shotguns in the game as, on the surface, it doesn’t seem too special. What makes it great is that within each of the five shells it fires, 10 projectiles shoot out. If you take this thing into a crowd, you can expect to see a wake of bodies in a short period of time.

The base damage of 310 is solid, but the deadly accuracy of the Mox shotgun is what will keep you coming back to it. Add to this a +85% headshot multiplier and a +25% armor penetration, and you have a recipe for success in any close-range encounter. You can also ricochet bullets off surfaces, taking out enemies around corners in the process.

Guts

My favorite shotgun variety is the Carnage shotgun, and that’s why Guts has a special place in my arsenal. It has a base damage of 372, but the real value comes in its range. You can effectively snipe enemies and lose very little accuracy. It also has a +85% headshot damage multiplier and a whopping +75% armor penetration to go along with it, making any close-range encounter trivial. Each shot fires 20 projectiles, making crowds of enemies a cinch.

Unlike the rest of these shotguns, Guts can be acquired extremely early in the game and can be a huge bonus for those who venture to get it. This gun is a tribute to Rebecca from Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners, and you can find it near the Arasaka Tower fast travel point.

Those are the best shotguns in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 (Phantom Liberty). Some are easy to get, while others are harder — but they’re all worth adding to your arsenal. For more help on the Cyberpunk 2077, check out our guides section.
