CoD Modern Warfare 3: When Does MW3 Multiplayer Come Out?

MW3 multiplayer is almost here, and now we know when you can expect it to release.

Call of Duty has always survived, year after year, on its various multiplayer modes, and Modern Warfare 3 is no exception. Now, with campaign early access, we have to ask the question: when does MW3 multiplayer come out?

What Is The Release Date for Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer?

The multiplayer portion of the game, as its beating heart, will not be launching with campaign early access. Instead, MW3 multiplayer releases with the full game on November 9. Release time varies depending on a few factors, most importantly your timezone. In a post on the official Call of Duty X (formerly Twitter) account, we got the times to watch out for.

In short, if you play on PC, you can pre-load both multiplayer and Zombies starting at 10:00 a.m. PST on November 8, with the full release happening at 9:00 p.m. PST, or midnight EST on November 9. Console players will all get full access to MW3 between 3:00 a.m. and 10 p.m. PST on November 9, depending on your time zone.

What Do We Get When MW3 Multiplayer Launches?

CoD MW3 multiplayer launches with all 16 maps from the classic Modern Warfare 2 (2009) title, as well as three Ground War maps and a War mode map. 20 maps at a Call of Duty launch is almost unheard of, though things are different this time as the maps are almost all refreshes of a previous game’s selection.

The Zombies experience, now taking place in the Warzone map of Urzikstan, also launches alongside multiplayer. It appears to continue the narrative begun with Black Ops Cold War Zombies while also tying it in to the ongoing Modern Warfare reboot storyline. The mode is entirely co-op, as you’d expect, but there can be up to 24 players on the map fighting hordes of the undead, which is also brand new.

As for the updated Warzone experience, we can expect to get our hands on that with the launch of Season 1 of MW3, which is coming sometime in December. I’d wager to see the new Warzone release no more than a week before the holidays to capitalize on the shopping rush that takes place in late December. After all, all the new players that enter the fray close to the new year make for a tasty snack for veterans.

Now you know everything you need to about when MW3 multiplayer comes out. Stick around for more MW3 guides leading up to and after full release, including how to get the Overkill perk, turn off voice chat, and more.
